Immótus in te pérmanens,

Lucis diúrnæ témpora

Succéssibus detérminans:

Cum Spíritu Paráclito

Regnans per omne sæculum.

Amen.

Ant. Allelúja.

Psalmus 118, ix

MIRABÍLIA testimónia tua: ídeo scrutáta est ea ánima mea.

Declarátio sermónum tuórum illúminat: et intelléctum dat párvulis.

Os meum apérui, et attráxi spíritum: quia mandáta tua desiderábam.

Áspice in me, et miserére mei, secúndum judícium diligéntium nomen tuum.

Rédime me a calúmniis hóminum: ut custódiam mandáta tua.

Fáciem tuam illúmina super servum tuum: et doce me justificatiónes tuas.

Éxitus aquárum deduxérunt óculi mei: quia non custodiérunt legem tuam.

Justus es, Dómine: et rectum judícium tuum.

Mandásti justítiam testimónia tua: et veritátem tuam nimis.

Tabéscere me fecit zelus meus: quia oblíti sunt verba tua inimíci mei.

Amen.

Psalmus 118, x

CLAMÁVI in toto corde meo, exáudi me, Dómine: justificatiónes tuas requíram.

Vocem meam audi secúndum misericórdiam tuam, Dómine: et secúndum judícium tuum vivífica me.

Appropinquavérunt persequéntes me iniquitáti: a lege autem tua longe facti sunt.

Prope es tu, Dómine: et omnes viæ tuæ véritas.

Inítio cognóvi de testimóniis tuis: quia in ætérnum fundásti ea.

Vide humilitátem meam, et éripe me: quia legem tuam non sum oblítus.

Júdica judícium meum, et rédime me: propter elóquium tuum vivífica me.

Longe a peccatóribus salus: quia justificatiónes tuas non exquisiérunt.

Misericórdiæ tuæ multæ, Dómine: secúndum judícium tuum vivífica me.

Multi qui persequúntur me, et tríbulant me: a testimóniis tuis non declinávi.

Vide quóniam mandáta tua diléxi, Dómine: in misericórdia tua vivífica me.

Princípium verbórum tuórum, véritas: in ætérnum ómnia judícia justítiæ tuæ.

Glória Patri, et Fílio, et Spirítui Sancto.

Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, et in sæcula sæculórum. Amen.

Psalmus 118, xi

PRÍNCIPES persecúti sunt me gratis: et a verbis tuis formidávit cor meum.

Sépties in die laudem dixi tibi, super judícia justítiæ tuæ.

Appropínquet deprecátio mea in conspéctu tuo, Dómine: juxta elóquium tuum da mihi intelléctum.

Intret postulátio mea in conspéctu tuo: secúndum elóquium tuum éripe me.

Eructábunt lábia mea hymnum, cum docúeris me justificatiónes tuas.

Pronuntiábit lingua mea elóquium tuum: quia ómnia mandáta tua æquitas.

Fiat manus tua ut salvet me: quóniam mandáta tua elégi.

Amen.

Ant. Allelúja, fáciem tuam, Dómine, illúmina super servum tuum, allelúja, allelúja.

Sunday None

Before the Office is begun, it is commendable to say the following Prayer, the singular number being used throughout; for which Pope Pius XI granted an indulgence of 3 years (S. Ap., November 17, 1933).

Prayer

OPEN my mouth, O Lord, to bless thy holy name: cleanse also my heart from all vain, evil and distracting thoughts; enlighten my understanding, inflame my will, that I may worthily recite this Office with attention and devotion, and deserve to be heard in the presence of thy divine Majesty. Through Christ our Lord. R. Amen.

O Lord, in union with that divine intention with which thou didst praise God on earth, I offer to thee this Hour.

OUR Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

HAIL, Mary, full of grace; The Lord is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, JESUS. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

V. O God, come to my assistance.

R. O Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Alleluia, or Praise be to Thee, O Lord, King of eternal glory.

Hymn

O STRENGTH and stay upholding all creation,

Who ever dost thyself unmoved abide,

Yet day by day the light in due gradation

From hour to hour through all its changes guide.

Grant to life’s day a calm unclouded ending,

An eve untouched by shadows of decay,

The brightness of a holy deathbed blending

With dawning glories of the eternal day.

Hear us, O Father, gracious and forgiving,

And thou, O Christ, the coeternal Word,

Who, with the Holy Ghost, by all things living

Now to endless ages art adored.

Amen.

Ant. Alleluia.

Psalm 118, ix

THY testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul hath sought them.

The declaration of thy words giveth light: and giveth understanding to little ones.

I opened my mouth, and panted: because I longed for thy commandments.

Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me, according to the judgment of them that love thy name.

Direct my steps according to thy word: and let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Redeem me from the calumnies of men: that I may keep thy commandments.

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy justifications.

My eyes have sent forth springs of water: because they have not kept thy law.

Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right.

Thou hast commanded justice thy testimonies: and thy truth exceedingly.

My zeal hath made me pine away: because my enemies forgot thy words.

Thy word is exceedingly refined: and thy servant hath loved it.

I am very young and despised; but I forget not thy justifications.

Thy justice is justice for ever: and thy law is the truth.

Trouble and anguish have found me: thy commandments are my meditation.

Thy testimonies are justice for ever: give me understanding, and I shall live.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalm 118, x

I CRIED with my whole heart, hear me, O Lord: I will seek thy justifications.

I cried unto thee, save me: that I may keep thy commandments.

I prevented the dawning of the day, and cried: because in thy words I very much hoped.

My eyes to thee have prevented the morning: that I might meditate on thy words.

Hear thou my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy: and quicken me according to thy judgment.

They that persecute me have drawn nigh to iniquity; but they are gone far off from thy law.

Thou art near, O Lord: and all thy ways are truth.

I have known from the beginning concerning thy testimonies: that thou hast founded them for ever.

See my humiliation and deliver me: for I have not forgotten thy law.

Judge my judgment and redeem me: quicken thou me for thy word’s sake.

Salvation is far from sinners; because they have not sought thy justifications.

Many, O Lord, are thy mercies: quicken me according to thy judgment.

Many are they that persecute me, and afflict me; but I have not declined from thy testimonies.

I beheld the transgressors, and I pined away; because they kept not thy word.

Behold I have loved thy commandments, O Lord; quicken me thou in thy mercy.

The beginning of thy words is truth: all the judgments of thy justice are for ever.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalm 118, xi

PRINCES have persecuted me without cause: and my heart hath been in awe of thy words.

I will rejoice at thy words, as one that hath found great spoil.

I have hated and abhorred iniquity; but I have loved thy law.

Seven times a day I have given praise to thee, for the judgments of thy justice.

Much peace have they that love thy law, and to them there is no stumbling-block.

I looked for thy salvation, O Lord: and I loved thy commandments.

My soul hath kept thy testimonies: and hath loved them exceedingly.

I have kept thy commandments and thy testimonies: because all my ways are in thy sight.

Let my supplication, O Lord, come near in thy sight: give me understanding according to thy word.

Let my request come in before thee; deliver thou me according to thy word.

My lips shall utter a hymn, when thou shalt teach me thy justifications.

My tongue shall pronounce thy word: because all thy commandments are justice.

Let thy hand be with me to save me; for I have chosen thy precepts.

I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my meditation.

My soul shall live and shall praise thee: and thy judgments shall help me.

I have gone astray like a sheep that is lost: seek thy servant, because I have not forgotten thy commandments.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Ant. Alleluia, make thy face, O Lord, to shine upon thy servant, alleluia, alleluia.
