In recent days it seems that the old bugaboo about "sede-vacantist" has been dredged up. So it seems appropriate to restate that sede-vacantism amounts to a merely personal opinion on the part of someone that involves applying certain principles of Roman Catholic theology to a specific factual situation. It isn't a doctrinal issue, as a sede-vacantist certainly accepts the Roman Catholic dogma on the papacy as defined at Vatican I. A personal opinion of sede-vacantism has no impact on the validity of the true Mass, Sacraments, and Faith. It has nothing to do with heresy or schism. Traditional Catholic theologians of the past indicate various ways by which an official decision could be made. Sede-vacantism was considered at least a theoretical possibility by even Doctors of the Church.
We don't hold to the sede-vacantist position because we don't think that Church history and Catholic theology require that conclusion under the present circumstances. De Romano Pontifice of St. Robert Bellarmine, a Doctor of the Church, and other authoritative works on the theology of the papacy give us adequate room to deal with the present situation, and ecclesiastical history provides a number of analogies for handling the present situation, which is not that unique in the history of the Church.
In practice, traditional Catholics are minimally affected by the issue. Traditional Catholics are not going with the "New Mass," the "New Sacraments," "New Morality," and the "New Theology," no matter who is pope, because that would be an offense against God Himself and a violation of the Apostolic Deposit of Faith. Any pope who would dare to violate the constitution of his papal office is acting outside his authority, and such acts are thus null and void anyway, according to the Dogmatic Decree Pastor Aeternus of Vatican I.
What a particular priest's opinion about an individual pope (as opposed to the doctrine on the office of the papacy itself) is, does not impinge on the traditional Mass, Sacraments, or Faith. Those are set in Catholic doctrine and Tradition, no matter who the pope is or is not. After all, the Deposit of Faith does not belong to the pope. It is the Church's treasure of truth that has been taught during twenty centuries. The pope is obligated to transmit it faithfully and exactly to all those under him. He is not free to do anything he pleases. Nor can we follow his error and change God's truth, just because the one who is charged with transmitting it is weak and allows error to spread around him. Remember that dogmatic council Vatican I found that some 40 of 260 popes had at one time or another personally taught error. One pope was excommunicated. Catholics must remain faithful to the Roman Catholic Church and the papacy of two thousand years, not novelties that have been taught for just the last forty years.
What traditional Catholics should be looking for is a site where the unadulterated Traditional Latin Mass and Sacraments are offered and where the traditional Roman Catholic Faith is preached. In the end, if you have a priest who professes the traditional Roman Catholic Faith, celebrates exclusively the Traditional Latin Mass, and administers the traditional Sacraments, support him, help him, be loyal to him, pray for him. You have a very special gift for which hundreds of thousands of traditional Catholics around the world are praying ceaselessly.
Why, then, has the old bugaboo about sede-vacantism been resurrected these days? We think that it is primarily an effort by certain members of traditional organizations to distinguish their particular brand of traditional Catholicism from everyone else. For example, certain people in the SSPX make much about this issue, even though their founder, Archbishop Lefebvre, left open the theological possibility of sede-vacantism in the future, although he didn't think that the condition had come to exist during his lifetime (he died in 1991).
TRADITIO follows the teaching of popes and Saints in being very cautious about facile acceptance of apparitions and never taking them as having the authority of the Public Revelation of the Church, contained in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition only. However, for those who are always citing apparitionistic statements, it is only fair to point out that there are certainly numerous statements that could be applied to the current Great Roman Schism of 1964, in which much of the Roman Catholic Church left that Church to join the schism of the New Order.
TRADITIO participants are certainly aware of the statements in the apparition of Our Lady of LaSalette in 1846:
Woe to the Princes of the Church who think only of piling riches to protect their authority and dominate with pride. The Vicar of my Son will suffer a great deal, because for a while the Church will yield to large persecution, a time of darkness, and the Church will witness a frightful crisis.... Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the Antichrist.... The Church will be in eclipse.... [Does this last statement also allude to JPII, who was born and died under an eclipse of the sun?]
Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837) was beatified by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XV, on May 30, 1920. She is regarded as a model for wives, mothers, and the family. She is said to have had a great mystical experience, in which she may have foreseen an end to Newchurch over 100 Years Ago when she predicted:
St. Peter and St. Paul, having come down from Heaven, will preach in the whole world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal who is to become Pope. Christianity, then, will spread throughout the world. He is the Holy Pontiff, chosen by God to withstand the storm. At the end, he will have the gift of miracles, and his name shall be praised over the whole earth. Whole nations will come back to the Church and the face of the earth will be renewed. Russia, England, and China will come into the Church.
There are some very revealing things in this apparitional statement. First of all, it is not St. Peter alone, but Sts. Peter & Paul together who are referred to. St. Paul, remember, upbraided St. Peter before the Apostles for falling into the error of Judaizing. Nor does one find the fixation here on Russia only, as at Fatima, but China is also included, which will undoubtedly become more significant as a world-dominating force than Russia, and even England. Does England here represent the developed countries of Western Europe, which have not so much fought against the Catholic Faith as ignored it in favor of secularism?
Now, TRADITIO is not trying to advocate belief in facile apparitions. Traditional Catholics don't need them. The Church teaches that we have everything we need in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. By the authority of dogma, Catholics, by definition, must center their faith on Our Lord Jesus Christ, not on apparitions, not even on the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Saints, who are due not worship, but only veneration. Only Christ is God, in the Holy Trinity.
You can forget the Newchurch propaganda. The Vatican II Church of the New Springtime is in the middle of winter. The numbers show the facts. And USA Today has given us these facts nicely depicted in a graphic. But the actual situation there depicted is worse, far worse.
First of all, notice that this graphic includes figures only through 2003, whereas we know that the most massive parish closings -- in Boston, St. Louis, Detroit, and many other Newchurch dioceses, occurred in 2004 and are continuing at a much more rapid pace now. Three Newchurch dioceses are in bankruptcy, with more to come.
Secondly, the drop in Newchurch presbyters (called "priests" in the graphic) is shown as 22% since 1990. But if one looks at the entire post-Vatican II period, the decline is far more steep. In 1965, there were 58,632 traditional priests in the United States according to the Official Catholic Directory, and according to the Catholic Almanac, there were 29,715 Newchurch presbyters (USA Today's figure of 33,028 is unaccountably higher than this number). That comes to a decline in presbyters since Vatican II, just forty years, of over 50%!
Also, the number of "Catholics" is stated as 65,000,000. This is well known to be a vastly inflated figure, as Newchurch seems to define "Catholic" as anyone who has once in his lifetime has set foot in a New Order church. This includes hoardes of illegal aliens. Yet statistics from more objective sources, such as the University of Chicago's National Opinion Research Center and the Gallup Poll Organization, show that the number of Novus Ordinarians, by any active definition, is closer to 10,000,000.
The number of active traditional Catholics is usually placed at around 2,000,000, and the number of traditional Catholic sympathizers is pegged by the Center at around 17,000,000. Remember that something like 20,000,000 traditional Catholics simply walked out when the Novus Ordo was introduced in 1969, without making the effort to find a Traditional Latin Mass site.
The intriguing conclusion is that the Catholic Church is, in fact, traditional by the faith of the people. It is Modernistic only in its counterfeit facade, by the temporary occupants of Newrome. This is exactly the same situation that occurred in the fourth century period of the Arian heresy in the Church. The people were Catholic; the pope and most of the bishops were not. It took about a century to rout the rascals out and reclaim the Church. Take courage, folks; we're not yet half way there, but the handwriting is clearly on the wall.
I have returned from Fatima, where SSPX held a pilgrimage in reparation for the hideous desecration committed there on 5 May 2004, extensively reported at the time on TRADITIO. Hindu "priests" had been allowed to adore their "goddess" Kali (a pagan devil, of course) in the apparition chapel (aka capelinha), with full approval and encouragement by the local "Catholic" hierarchy.
Now, what do you think happened when true Catholics from all over the world (between 2000 and 3000 of them), including the U.S., tried to pray on Monday, 22nd August, the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, at the very same place? "Bishop" Guerra, rector of the shrine, double-crossed them and prevented them from praying in silence by pumping up the volume of his powerful audio equipment on the Esplanade. This was in total contradiction to the oral permission he had given beforehand. How's that for a scandal within the Scandal, for an abomination within the Abomination?
But let us forget about our humiliation (after all, Our Lord was more humiliated than anyone, though He is God!), and let us try to "think positive." We know that SSPX Bishop Fellay will meet Benedict XVI on 29th August. We also know that up to now, he has been all too inclined to kowtow before Newvatican. However, how could he engineer some kind of "rally" to the Newchurch after having suffered such an public affront by a Newvatican wardog? It is my hope that given what happened a couple of days ago and knowing that lots of traditional Catholics have been infuriated by it, he will not sell out SSPX after all.
But the best thing to have done would have been to call off this meeting, which can bring strictly nothing good to the Tradition, and to do it as soon as last Monday, after a press conference of some kind. A split of SSPX would be a disastrous blow to our common cause, which is the conservation of the one true Faith, notwithstanding the fact that SSPX is only a part of Tradition, and I for one certainly would not stay in a "rallied" SSPX. But being the biggest and most organized single society of this kind, its fall would be severely felt.
Something must be said about the signs that we had. At the precise moment when our reparation prayer started, an earthquake was felt in Rome. Besides, the sky of Fatima was full of smoke on account of the numerous and gigantic fires which were destroying Portuguese forests, and the sun pierced through this smoke as a blood-red disc. As far as John Paul II is concerned, the purported prophecies of Malachy gave him in advance the nickname de labore Solis, which means "at the eclipse of the sun." And you know that the sun is one of the symbolic figures of Jesus Christ.
Thank you again, dear Father Moderator, for your news about what happens on the other side of the "pond."
After TRADITIO made the revelations about the Novus Ordo connections of the FSSP and its Denton seminary, we got a number of fanatical messages from FSSP radicals claiming that Szymakowski is "no longer" with the FSSP and demanding a correction. None of these radicals, by the way, denied anything that was actually written. None of them denied that the FSSP had a policy of deliberately butting heads with already established Traditional Latin Masses so that traditional Catholics would be enticed to come over to Newchurch. They all admitted that Szymakowski was once affiliated with the FSSP and the FSSP seminary at Denton. Our correspondents from within the FSSP indicate that Szymakowski is far from the only "indult" priest with Novus Ordo connections.
All these FSSP radicals were invited by TRADITIO to follow their allegations up directly with the Archbishop of Anchorage, since he is the source of the lie they claim (that Szymakowski was an advocate of the Novus Ordo Mess and is saying it exclusively at this point) and published it in his official diocesan newspaper. We asked these mouthpieces to let us know what the archbishop's exact response was after they contacted him directly, as we would be happy to publish his response after they called him the liar that they claim he is. Not a single one of these radicals has done so.
That TRADITIO was determined by a statistical survey to be the most popular traditional Roman Catholic web site on the internet did not occur by chance. For over ten years now we have established a reputation of being fiercely independent. Although other publications may capitulate to organizational politics, TRADITIO doesn't give in to press releases offering organizational "spin" or organizational mouthpieces that want TRADITIO to become little more than their personal house organ. We don't listen to their huffing and puffing to cover up the real story. When Newvatican or FSSP or the SSPX or any other significant organization tries to pull shenanigans, we comment on them equally.
The antics of the FSSP do not surprise me. I know of a sound and orthodox traditional priest, who is has not yet fully realized what's up with the "indult" crowd and asked to join the FSSP. They refused him because he refuses to say the Novus Ordo without exception!
Also, I know personally a number of recent seminarians at Denton. All tell me that they do study the Novus Ordo, in Latin. One even wanted me to get him a missal! I also know a number of FSSP priests that are doing everything they can to join those Novus Ordo dioceses most infiltrated by immoral clerics.
In my opinion, the FSSP is not part of the solution: it's another Novus Ordo organization, with a traditional facade. They have no spine. It has been my experience with groups like them and Una Voce, that they deeply confuse politics for religion, making a religion out of politics, so as to abandon true religion for politicking.
Excluding myself, there were 18 seminarians in my year at a very well known Novus Ordo seminary. I had to ship out because I was distrusted (even hated by some) for my unacceptably traditional opinions. Ten of the original eighteen were ordained to the Novus Ordo presbyterate. I became a lawyer.
Six of my contemporaries have left the ministry, two having become Protestants (so much for the effects of oecumenism). Of the remaining four, I have represented three before the courts: two for sex crimes in public places and one for theft. The fourth plans to leave Newchurch and either join the SSPX or try living as an independent traditional Catholic priest.
Speaking as a former Novus Ordo seminarian, I fear that someone will pay a heavy price for the lives that have been ruined and the vocations that have been spoiled and wasted by this Newchurch. We entered the Novus Ordo seminary filled with hope and zeal for Christ's Church and for souls.
Attendite et videte si est dolor sicut dolor noster.
The "Indult" organizations have tried to deny it, but just as TRADITIO has consistently published, "indult" priests, such as those in the Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP), are being forced to celebrate the Novus Ordo Protestant-Masonic-Pagan service. So why are these "indult" organizations lying about their involvement with the New Order? Because, of course, they know that if Catholics going to "Indult" Masses ever found out, many would leave, feeling cheated and deceived.
Listen to TRADITIO, folks. We give the straight story, unadorned by Newchurch propaganda. Protocol 1411 of 1999, issued by the Newchurch Ecclesia Dei Commission, in essence gives an "indult" priest no choice when a Newchurch diocesan bishop orders him to perform the Novus Ordo service. Moreover, one has to wonder how such "indult" priests can say the Novus Ordo service unless that "indult" seminary in Denton, Nebraska, is training them to do so.Catholic Anchor, the periodical for the archdiocese of Anchorage, reveals that a 32-year-old "indult" priest, Andrew Szymakowski, has been appointed to serve as the "parochial vicar" of St. Andrew Parish. Although the "indult" priest, a member of the FSSP, has been "specially trained to celebrate the Tridentine [sic] Mass," he has been ordered by Newchurch Archbishop Roger Schweitz to perform only the Novus Ordo service. And that is not Szymakowski's only example of commitment to the Novus Ordo. He served as a "transitional [Novus Ordo] deacon at a parish in Post Falls, Idaho, where the Latin and 'Novus Ordo' rites are celebrated." In other words, to this "indult" priest, the counterfeit Novus Ordo service and the Traditional Latin Mass (or at least the Modernized Mass of 1962) are just as good, just as valid.
It appears that Szymakowski was sent to the Anchorage area not because of any desire to see the Traditional Latin Mass spread more widely. The Catholic Anchor article further reveals that Szymakowski and Schweitz are scheming about possibly introducing an "Indult" Mass there specifically to butt heads with an long-standing existing Traditional Latin Mass in Anchorage, run by a traditional organization!
Earlier, Newchurch bishop Robert Finn, of Kansas City, Missouri, admitted in his diocesan newspaper that an "Indult" Mass had been provided in his diocese (off and on) only to butt heads with an established Traditional Latin Mass in the diocese. He was not interested in expanding the Traditional Latin Mass, only in siphoning off members from the traditional group.
This is yet another example of the Novus Ordo ploy that is the "indult." The "indult" groups are not interested in promoting the true Mass, but only to keep the gravy-train coming from traditional Catholics, who might be fooled by the "indult." Well, what do you expect? The Catholic Anchor article, which quotes the "indult" priest, who was quite open about his duplicity, notes that "although the young priest 'loves the Latin Mass,' he is comfortable with both rites, unlike some traditionalists who bad-mouth the 'Novus Ordo.'"
At least we know who the enemies of the true Faith and Mass are, don't we?
It seems that Benedict-Ratzinger has bought into the "Saint" ploy by "fast-tracking" JPII (a totally Novus Ordo process, by the way). What is the reason being given for waiving the rules of the canonization process? The people and placards at his funeral calling for his sainthood! Didn't any of Benedict's underlings tell their benighted boss that the Santo Subito nonsense was a staged P.R. blitz engineered by Chiara Lubich and her Charismatic Focalare brigades, who distributed the signs and frenzied up the crowds? (For further information, see FAQ10: How Do You Explain These Traditional Beliefs? in the TRADITIO Library of Files (Traditional Apologetics), in the article "Charismatic Movement.")
This just another indication of how the Newchurch "saint factory" works. In Newchurch, man moves the gears, not the Holy Ghost. The floodgates for diminishing sanctity have been opened wide with the elimination of the traditional Devil's Advocate and a number of miracles. Remember, Sacred Scripture teaches us that Satan can effect miracles to deceive the faithful. That is why a long and detailed investigation is required for the certain validity of a Saint.
Throw a non-descript wrap around your shoulders. Squat on the floor and "perform Mess" on a coffee table. Don't use a crucifix, but be sure to put a lovey-dovey heart on the table next to a lava lamp. And the guitar -- don't forget the guitar!
This Mess took place in Los Angeles in 1996. Even Novus Ordinarians can't call this Mess valid, as French bread contains invalidating ingredients. (Only wheat flour and water are permitted for validity.)
If you're a traditional Catholic, don't bother asking your Newchurch bishop for a traditional funeral. You'll have better luck if you pretend that you are a Protestant heretic.
Protestant Taizan Schutz, who recently died to praise from Benedict-Ratzinger, got a Newchurch funeral, with the approval of Benedict-Ratzinger. Taize was founded during World War II by Roger, a Protestant minister. The sacrilege was celebrated on August 23 by none other than Benedict's President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, Walter Kasper, the Ultra-Modernist Cardinal.
Kaspar performed the Novus Ordo Mess in concelebration with four Taize presbyters. Kasper handed out the Novus Ordo cookie to the attendees "indiscriminately, regardless of denomination," according to a New York Times report. And the pope knew.
Oops! TRADITIO revealed weeks ago that SSPX Superior General Bernard Fellay engineered a meeting with the New Order and Benedict-Ratzinger, even though Benedict had not accepted the long-standing "unconditional requirements" before further talks could occur. This meeting was supposed to be a secret -- which makes it even more reprehensible than TRADITIO had previously stated.
From time to time we get messages from members of the SSPX Fellayite wing telling us that they have a different impression of Fellay from his public addresses. We reply that we do not rely upon public propaganda addresses, any more than we swallow the Democratic or Republican "party line." When the "CEO" of an organization makes a public statement, you can be sure that it is very carefully prepared to reflect the organization's "party line." Secular or religious -- it's the same thing.
To those Fellayites, we add this additional information so that they will be far more circumspect about believing uncritically everything their CEO tells them. He certainly doesn't tell them everything (SSPX is known for being pretty secretive organizationally), and in this case he was planning to hide from them entirely the important information about his secret rapprochement with Benedict-Ratzinger. Perhaps he was trying to go behind the backs of most of the Society.
But, as one TRADITIO correspondent has pointed out, it will probably be the only such meeting during this pontificate, given Benedict's advanced age and health problems. Coming on the heels of the euphoria of his first flaming New Order "World Youth Day," this meeting may not find the Holy Father receptive to reverting to traditional Catholicism.
According to now published reports, Fellay was scheduled to meet with Benedict secretly, but one of the SSPX Bishops, Richard Williamson, had enough honesty to reveal in a circular letter that Fellay had initiated the meeting. At least one of the SSPX bishops has apparently acted honestly and forthrightly with respect to the SSPX clergy and laity -- and traditional Catholics at large. Moreover, Williamson, leader of the SSPX Traditional wing, honestly questioned whether it is possible to reach accord with any pope who upholds the Modernistic teachings of Vatican II -- that has always been TRADITIO's position.
Too bad General Fellay, leader of the SSPX Liberalist wing favorable to rapprochement with the New Order, didn't have the same honesty and forthrightness. This important debate about the restoration of Roman Catholicism to Newchurch should be conducted in the light of day instead of secretive darkness. All traditional Catholics have a right to know what is going on. It is their Faith that is at issue.
TRADITIO had reported earlier that Newchurch was trying to wrangle actor-director Mel Gibson, an outspoken anti-Newchurch traditional Catholic, into "producing" a Stations of the Cross extravaganza through the streets of Sydney, Australia, for the next papal World Youth Day in 2008.
Apparently, Gibson is as disgusted at these "Catholic Woodstocks" as TRADITIO is. The Sydney Extra television show contacted Gibson's representative about the reports. The representative had only two words about whether Gibson had agreed to appear and direct the Stations of the Cross for Benedict: "Absolutely not."
Our Australian correspondent confirmed that Gibson's name was merely being used to elevate the standing of George Cardinal Pell of Sydney with the people and to help him in his attempt to get WYD for Australia. And this is supposed to be a "conservative" cardinal behind staging the 2008 edition of this papal abomination! Newchurch is all smoke and mirrors, folks.
Just as TRADITIO predicted months ago, Newchurch dioceses, facing bankruptcy resulting from their complicity in sex crimes, are trying to bail out on restitution by denying their control over parishes, which they have always claimed to run. Now the Newchurch bishops are shifting ownership of their properties to the parishes in a virtual return to the Lay Trusteeship structure of the 19th century.
Nashville is the latest diocese to try this ploy. Facing to date $68,000,000 in lawsuits, Nashville Newchurch officials claim that they are not doing anything untoward. They say that the diocese has been engaged in an effort to ensure that property deeds accurately reflect the true owners of the property.
You know, TRADITIO, folks. We tell the real story without phonying it up with Newchurch propaganda. The Nashville diocese in this action has essentially admitted that it has committed fraud. So have the Newchurch bishops in Portland, Oregon, and Spokane, Washington, who are pulling the same ploy. They are essentially admitting that the have falsified recorded deeds to show false ownership of properties. And if they did that, that is a crime. Let's see if the police have the guts to throw these Newchurch bishops in jail where they belong.
The good news is that now Newchurch parishes have the option to revert to the Roman Catholic Faith. They have the control now. They can hire their own clergy. Hopefully, some of them will get their traditional Catholic religion back and hire traditional priests. The Newchurch bishops will huff and puff with "interdict," "excommunication," and all those silly threats, but the parishes will soon learn that it is all empty propaganda. The parishioners of St. Stanislaus Kosta of St. Louis have realized that already. They now have possession of their parish and have told Raymond Burke, the wacko bishop who admitted a transsexual to religious vows, to pound sand and have thrown his huffing-and-puffing treats back in his teeth.
Those who try to vouch for the orthodoxy of the pope and his cohorts will be devastated by this news. A defective definition of the doctrine of Transubstantiation has been issued on the pope's official World Youth Day web site.
In a press release on the Marienfeld Vigil and Concluding Mess, August 20-21, the following definition of Transubstantiation was issued:
During transubstantiation, the bread and wine become concrete signs of God's love for mankind. Jesus did not stop loving mankind, did not stop teaching them of God's love for them even when He had to pay the penalty with his own body and blood. This is what Jesus meant when, at the Last Supper, he said to his Apostles, "This is my body" and "This is my blood for you."
Here is the doctrine as defined by the dogmatic Council of Trent (in a translation):
And because that Christ, our Redeemer, declared that which He offered under the species of bread to be truly His own body, therefore has it ever been a firm belief in the Church of God, and this holy Synod doth now declare it anew, that, by the consecration of the bread and of the wine, a conversion is made of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord, and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of His blood; which conversion is, by the holy Catholic Church, suitably and properly called Transubstantiation. [Sessio XXIII, Caput IV]
Notice too that the Newvatican's definition of the form of the Sacrament is defective. Here is the doctrine as defined in the Roman Catechism, i.e., the Catechism of the dogmatic Council of Trent (in a translation):
With regard to the consecration of the wine, ... we are then firmly to believe that it consists in the following words: "This is the chalice of my blood, of the new and eternal testament, the mystery of faith, which shall be shed for you and for many, to the remission of sins." Of these words the greater part are taken from Scripture; but some have been preserved in the Church from Apostolic tradition.
Paul VI signed a similarly defective definition of the Mass that appeared in the General Instruction to the text of the Novus Ordo Missae of 1969 (in a translation):
The dinner of the Lord, or Mass, is the sacred assembly, or congregation, of the people of God coming together as one, under the presidency of the presbyter, to celebrate a memorial of the Lord. [Section VII]
Here is the doctrine as defined in the Roman Catechism, i.e., the Catechism of the dogmatic Council of Trent (in a translation):
We therefore confess that the Sacrifice of the Mass is and ought to be considered one and the same Sacrifice as that of the cross, for the victim is one and the same, namely, Christ our Lord, who offered Himself, once only, a bloody Sacrifice on the altar of the cross. The bloody and unbloody victim are not two, but one victim only, whose Sacrifice is daily renewed in the Eucharist, in obedience to the command of our Lord: Do this for a commemoration of me. [Section VII]
Once again, it seems that Newvatican has flunked Catholic Theology 1A. Is it any wonder that "it is hard to deny any longer that the Novus Ordo service, in any version, is unCatholic, sacrilegious, irreverent, scandalous, blasphemous, idolatrous, and conclusively invalid."
World Youth Day was a bust for Benedict-Ratzinger. There was plenty of hoopla, but no beef. Even BBC News had to call it "a huge Catholic Woodstock," referring to the 1969 hippie conclave in Woodstock, New York, known mostly for its rampant drugs, sex, and rock music. At the same time torrential rains and floods hit Germany, as if Heaven itself were trying to wash away the muck.
Like Newchurch, World Youth Day is a show, meaning nothing Catholic. Many of the participants were there as if for a "rave" and widely espoused anti-Catholic beliefs. For example, BBC reports on one WYD participant who was handing out postcards in support of condoms. "The Pope does not get it, but I do, and I am the future." The BBC reporter wryly commented: "I had visions of a latter-day Martin Luther going to nail his condoms postcard to the cathedral door." He got it right. WYD is Protestant -- really much worse than Protestant. It is essentially atheistic.
Benedict-Ratzinger entirely failed to introduce traditional Catholicism. The closing Mess featured "two guys that were dressed up like what appeared to be South American Indians, pounding on drums." Benedict performed the invalid Novus Ordo Mess, not the Traditional Latin Mass, even the "modernized" version of 1962. He never once mentioned the "liturgical excess" of the Novus Ordo that used to be his rallying-cry to sell more of his books. He gave no indication that he wanted the youth to return devoutly and thoughtfully to the Faith. He might as well have been handing out Ecstasy.
Nor was the doctrine he preached traditional. Meeting with thirty heretical Protestant and schismatic Eastern Orthodox leaders, Benedict-Ratzinger pledged to move "oecumenism" forward during his pontificate, saying that eventual communion does not mean bringing uniformity in theology, liturgy, and discipline. So Benedict obviously intends to sell out the Catholic Faith to achieve phony "oecumenism." Remember that he was personally behind the Newchurch sellout to the Lutherans on the doctrine of justification.
The teaching of the Church has always condemned false oecumenism, that is, religious indifferentism, holding that all religions are more or less good and praiseworthy. Pope Pius XI in his Encyclical Letter Mortalium animos condemned false oecumenism, saying:
To favor this opinion [religious Indifferentism, false oecumenism], therefore, and to encourage such undertakings is tantamount abandoning the religion revealed by God. This being so, it is clear that the Apostolic See can by no means take part in these assemblies, or is it in any way lawful for Catholics to give to such enterprises their encouragement or support.
It is clear that this "traditional" pope is a charade. He had no more real intention of introducing traditional Catholicism into Newchurch than Coke has of promoting Pepsi!
[This is just one example of such messages we have received and continue to receive, showing that, by the grace of God, the straight information provided by TRADITIO on true Catholicism has been the inspiration for thousands and thousands of Novus Ordinarians to return to traditional Catholicism and eschew Newchurch. For further information, see the Novus Order Service Photo Gallery.
Dear Fr. Moderator:
I have known all the crazy things that have been going on in the New Age Church -- even in my own parish, a "country club parish." But when I saw your Photo Gallery of all the "messes" that are being done, or should I saw the blasphemies that are being done, to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, I was horrified! I pray that Catholics will go back to Tradition. God bless you for your work.
One of the Modernist heresies that is prevalent in Newchurch is that of Universal Salvation. Everyone goes to Heaven now: Catholics and non-Catholics, Saints and unrepentant sinners. Newchurch gives "Catholic" funerals to thrice-divorced congressmen, homosexual-advocate dress designers, and transvestite teens.
Benedict seems to have fallen into the material heresy of Universal Salvation, at least materially, when he said on August 17 from his Castel Gandolfo summer resort about the previous day's death of Protestant Taizist Roger Schutz: "Frère Schutz is in the hands of eternal goodness, of eternal love; he has attained eternal joy."
So, Roger Schutz has become the Santo Subito that even JPII couldn't achieve. JPII has to go through the "normal" channels.
Benedict-Ratzinger has revealed more of his plans for taking Newchurch in a liberalistic direction, not a traditional direction, just as TRADITIO has previously predicted.
Benedict told Vatican Radio that he hopes to inspire a "new wave of faith" and show that Christianity brings "zest and joy," not a heavy load of "rules and prohibitions." This sounds like the Vatican II-speak that we have heard from the popes since Vatican II: the New Springtime, the New Pentecost, the New Order -- while Newchurch sinks into the mud.
Notice that Benedict's statement creates an artificial opposition between "zest and joy" and "rules and regulations." Why can't a Catholic have a zestful and joyous faith while at the same time observing Catholic and Apostolic practices of fast and abstinence, for example? What "rules and regulations" does Benedict imply should be done away with: that those who live in sin outside a Catholic marriage and Protestant heretics should receive the Novus Ordo cookie? That bishops embezzling from Newchurch should not be punished or return their stolen goods? These are all Modernistic ideas that have been floating around in Germany, whence Benedict comes and where this World Youth Day is being held.
"I would like to show them how beautiful it is to be Christian, because the widespread idea which continues to exist is that Christianity is composed of laws and bans which one has to keep and, hence, is something toilsome and burdensome," Benedict said. What laws are those? The Ten Commandments? What bans are those? The Natural Law against abortion and homosexual acts? What kind of a New Newchurch does Benedict envisage? One with even less Catholic morality than exists now?
Those semi-traditionalists, indultarians, and "conservative" Novus Ordinarians who were so euphoric about Benedict returning Newchurch to some semblance of "traditionalism" have been proven hopelessly wrong, just as TRADITIO has predicted. Where is his former talk about a "more reverent" Novus Ordo Mess? Where is his talk about Newvatican clamping down on embezzling bishops and philandering presbyters? Nowhere in a Benedict XVI papacy, apparently.
If Benedict doesn't have any regard for Catholic morality, it appears that others are going to force him into a corner. JPII and now Benedict have singularly failed to express outrage at their criminal bishops and presbyters. Their silence in the face of the rampant crimes of their appointees cries to heaven for vengeance. And one lawyer in Texas wants to be that Avenging Angel.
Joseph Ratzinger, aka Benedict XVI, is named as a defendant in a lawsuit, accused of conspiring with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to cover up the abuse of three boys during the mid 1990s by a Novus Ordo seminarian, who has been indicted in a criminal case and is now a fugitive from justice. Evidence has been filed in court that a May 18, 2001, letter Ratzinger wrote to bishops around the world was evidence that he was involved in a conspiracy to hide the fugitive's crimes and to help him escape prosecution.
Attorney Daniel Shea said at a press conference on August 17 that he would challenge the U.S. diplomatic recognition of the Vatican City State on constitutional grounds if U.S. President Bush grants Benedict-Ratzinger immunity in the case as head of the Vatican City State. The case is significant because it has gone further than other recent attempts to implicate Newvatican and high-ranking church officials in the sex scandal. The Newvatican spokesman and Ratzinger's lawyers have declined to comment on the case.
Shea said that Bush may choose to abstain from the case because of the political implications it may have. "The Evangelical community has been horrified at what they've seen in these cases, and I don't think his political base can stand him in effect providing cover for Ratzinger. But that's a political question," he said. [Seattle Post Intelligencer]
For our latest Novus Ordo Mess, we bring you hot off the presses the "Circus Mess." This travesty was featured on August 7 in Wuerzburg, Germany, as one of the preparatory events to the pope's World Youth Day (Cologne, August 21). The Novus Ordo presbyter, dressed in clown-colored vestments and sporting a clown's red nose is assisted by his "deacon," dressed in a red alb with matching red nose.
In fact, the clown theme was used for the WYD August 16 inaugural Mess, performed by Joachim Cardinal Meisner. During the offertory procession, Meisner received as the "gifts" for the altar a heavy barrel of beer and a carnival fool's cap. And Meisner is described as a "theological conservative"! Apparently, Benedict-Ratzinger's cardinalatial staff considers World Youth Day to be a carnival, not a religious event. It is scandalous that a youth group from the Fraternity of St. Peter bought into attending this unCatholic carnival. But that is the hypocrisy of the indultarian position. [Catholic News Service]
Lest you think that this Mess is just for the liberalist German Novus Ordo Church, beware! Now that the German version of this Mess has been worked on for two years, the Mess has recently been translated into English. Rollout to United States parishes can't be far off now!
Those who thought that Benedict-Ratzinger was going to be a "traditional" pope have been disappointed time and time again in the last three months since his accession. He has appointed as his #3 man William Levada, a "gay"-favorable bishop, who is under subpoena in the United States over sex crimes and embezzlement when he was archbishop of Portland, Oregon. Currently, the pope is playing up to the sex and rock culture at papal World Youth Day, which had plans for the distribution of condoms to the "Catholic" participants (can you imagine a proposal to hand out condoms during one of Fr. Patrick Peyton's Rosary Crusades?).
Now it has been revealed by the Reuters News Agency that Benedict-Ratzinger violated Catholic doctrine by giving a Protestant the Novus Ordo cookie. Benedict's predecessor had been caught in the act too. Although at first Newvatican tried to deny it, eyewitnesses reported that JPII had given the cookie to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, a Protestant Anglican. JPII also allowed Protestant U.S. President Bill Clinton to receive the cookie in South Africa in a violation of Catholic doctrine that surprised even the secular press at the time.
Reuters reported that right in front of the world on television, "at his inaugural Mass last April, Pope Benedict gave Brother Roger [Schutz] communion, making a surprising exception to the rule he has long defended that Protestants cannot take the Catholic eucharist." Moreover, when Brother Roger, 90, died on August 16, the pope lauded this founder of the Protestant Taize group in 1940. Taize is known for featuring joint Novus Ordo-Protestant "eucharistic services," which are condemned in Catholic doctrine. It appears, sadly, that this pope is just as lawless when it comes to Catholic doctrine and practice as his predecessor.
TRADITIO has been the only source bold enough advance the possibility that Benedict-Ratzinger may be in the early stage of mental disease, which could comprise the validity of his papal acts. The evidence is public, but no other source has put together the facts that the pope:
Now the Reuters News Agency reports that at the August 15 papal audience at the papal summer resort in Castel Gandolfo, Benedict forgot not only the greeting but most especially the papal blessing. Are these episodes just coincidences, or are they evidence of a developing mental problem? There is no question that medically two strokes and an unconscious episode quite probably could produce such a condition.
"I am forgetting the most important things," he said. "It appears that I am already partly in Cologne," referring to his appearance at World Youth Day. It is TRADITIO's opinion that Ratzinger never wanted to be pope. Since 1991 he has been asking to retire back to Germany and write his books, but JPII wouldn't allow it. We think that Ratzinger gave in to the election last April only because it would prevent a division in Newchurch between the ultra-liberalist cardinals and the just liberalist cardinals.
If you look at his behavior over the last three months, he seems to be a man dispirited, unfocused, and longing to get away. It is reported that Paul VI, who became the "Vatican II" pope and bitterly regretted being taken in by Hannibal Bugnini to implement the New Order, in his last weeks wandered around the Vatican palace, saying, "Credo, credo," as if God did not believe that he was a Catholic pope. Benedict is reported to be spending long, sleepless hours (a possible symptom of a brain condition) playing Mozart on the piano. God help us! When will we get a healthy, truly Catholic pope?!
When are these Newchurch bishops going to become Catholic? Or even moral? Likely never. Bishop Howard Hubbard, of Albany, New York, whom some, as previously reported on TRADITIO, suspect as the murderer of a presbyter who threatened to expose his immoral activities, has defiantly pledged to support thirteen philandering presbyters financially and not "defrock" them to lay status. [Albany Times Union]
Hubbard, you see, has been a vocal critic of the U.S. Conference of [Newchurch] Catholic Bishops' zero-tolerance policy for Novus Ordo presbyters' sex crimes. He wants to be "tolerant" of crimes against minors. You see, it's all part of the Novus Ordo Church of Love.
What does Our Lord say about such a man? "But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:6/DRV).
[It seems that our Indian correspondents are often ahead of the Western Hemisphere in their knowledge of what is going on in the SSPX. Here are two recent reports on current SSPX goings-on from their Eastern vantage-point.]
One is tempted to speculate whether the anonymous source of the information on Ratzinger which has appeared in a French bimonthly is none other than Fr. Franz Schmidberger of the SSPX [former SSPX Superior General and a known Newvatican sympathizer] who may have already made the initial contact with him. If the SSPX Chief Bishop (who has less than a year to go in office) is to precipitate a pact with Rome and a consequential split of the SSPX, there may be claims and rival claims to SSPX properties, this time all round the world, reminiscent of the SSPX-SSPV confrontations on real estate in the US in 1983 when the lawyers were the principal beneficiaries. Will whatever is promised by Pope Ratzinger be honoured by a future, say, Pope Kasper?
According to SSPX Bishop Williamson's August 2005 letter, it is the SSPX who asked for an appointment with Ratzinger. Thank heavens Bp. Williamson seems to have his head firmly screwed on. Again, Bishop Sanborn's May 2003 statement becomes ever so relevant:
The SSPX hierarchy cannot make up its mind about the prudence of reconciling [with the New Order]. Over the years the flip-flop has continued to the point of making one dizzy. Now the reconciliation is on; now it is off. Now it is good; now it is bad. It will happen; it will not happen. Today it will not happen; tomorrow it will happen. Today John Paul is the antichrist; tomorrow he is the Vicar of Christ; the next day he is not Catholic; the following day he is the Holy Father. Swing to the left; swing to the right.
In the second place, the SSPX faithful are constantly staring at the specter of a reconciliation with the Modernists which will destroy over thirty years of resistance to Modernism. Their churches, schools, convents, and seminaries can be yanked from under them in a moment's notice, whenever the confused management of the SSPX thinks that it is the right time. One never knows when Bishop Fellay is going to give away the store to the Novus Ordo.
So often you hear Catholics lamenting over the current wreck of the Church, wailing, "Why is God doing this?" Or justifying what the Newchurch leaders are doing "because God wouldn't abandon them." No, but they certainly have abandoned God, and it has all happened before, many times. But let us go back 2600 years and listen to God's prophet, Ezechiel.
Ezechiel lived in a period of travail for the Church. In 598 King Nabuchodonosor of Babylon beseiged Jerusalem and deported the Jews to Babylon. Ten years later the Temple was destroyed. For sixty years the Jews lived in exile. Their lament, which could be that of traditional Catholics as well, is recorded in Psalm 136:
Upon the rivers of Babylon, there we sat and wept when we remembered Sion: On the willows in the midst thereof we hung up our instruments. For there they that led us into captivity required of us the words of songs. And they that carried us away, said: Sing ye to us a hymn of the songs of Sion. How shall we sing the song of the Lord in a strange land?
God used Babylon to chastise the Jews, who were losing their Faith and engaging in pagan practices again. God was purifying His people, and only a remnant would remain to return to Jerusalem to replant the Faith. He sent his prophet Ezechiel to harangue the people and teach them why they were suffering God's chastisement.
All these sounds like our own times, doesn't it? "Catholics" as a whole are chastised, and only a remnant remains faithful to God's Church and to replant the true Faith after a period of chastisement. But Ezechiel goes further. He indicts the leaders of the Church who abandoned the Faith and engaged in immoralities that demand God's harsh judgment. And God does, in fact, apply strong medicine. Ezechiel speaks with the voice of God when he rails against the unfaithful and immoral priests:
Her priests have despised my law, and have defiled my sanctuaries: they have put no difference between holy and profane: nor have distinguished between the polluted and the clean: and they have turned away their eyes from my sabbaths, and I was profaned in the midst of them. Her princes in the midst of her are like wolves ravening the prey to shed blood, and to destroy souls, and to run after gains through covetousness (22:26-27/DRV).
And he describes the consequences of the behavior of the Church leaders in a passage with which every traditional Catholic can identify, even alluding to the failure in our times of the post-Vatican II popes to lead the Church:
And my sheep were scattered, because there was no shepherd and they became the prey of all the beasts of the field, and were scattered. My sheep have wandered in every mountain, and in every high hill: and my flocks were scattered upon the face of the earth, and there was none that sought them, there was none, I say, that sought them.... As I live, saith the Lord God, forasmuch as my flocks have been made a spoil, and my sheep are become a prey to all the beasts of the field, because there was no shepherd: for my shepherds did not seek after my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flocks (34:5-8/DRV).
It is as if the voice of God were reaching out 2600 years to our times, denouncing the sacrileges and immoralities of Church leaders and the scattering of faithful Catholics. But Ezechiel is also the Prophet of Hope. He tells us that the time of tribulation will end because He will intervene directly (34:12-16/DRV):
As the shepherd visiteth his flock in the day when he shall be in the midst of his sheep that were scattered, so will I visit my sheep, and will deliver them out of all the places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.... I will feed my sheep: and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God. I will seek that which was lost: and that which was driven away, I will bring again: and I will bind up that which was broken, and I will strengthen that which was weak, and that which was fat and strong I will preserve, and I will feed them in judgment.
So, you see, folks, this has all happened before. One could also quote passages from the prophet Daniel, from the books of the Maccabees, and many other places in Scripture that teach us that God does chastise his people to purify them and confirm them in the Faith, to winnow out the weak of Faith, and to purge evil church leaders. All he asks is that we hold fast to the Traditions that we have learned and stand against the evil and deceit of the sacrilegious and immoral. He Himself will take care of the rest in due time.
Isn't it interesting that Benedict-Ratzinger has supposedly agreed "tacitly" to the recognition of two Communist Chinese bishops? Those of you Novus Ordinarians who always want written sources cited are going to be disappointed. There is no paper trail on this damnable act.
There are now said to be 120 Catholic bishops in Red China. 46 of them are clandestine and profess allegiance to the Novus Ordo sect. 74 of them operate openly under the authority of the Communist Chinese government as the Patriotic National Church. For many years, the PNC bishops stayed strictly traditional, offering only the Traditional Latin Mass and Sacraments. More recently, they have been corrupted by Novus Ordo influences and frequently (but not exclusively) perform the Novus Ordo in local vulgar tongue. [Chiesa]
It has always been a conundrum (but not really) why Newvatican never formally excommunicated the PNC bishops, who, after all, did not have "papal approval" for their consecrations. On the other hand, Archbishop Lefebvre was consecrated with papal approval, but was later formally (if illegal and invalidly) "excommunicated" for consecrating other traditional bishops. The archbishop would have had more luck with Newvatican if he were a professed Communist!
Of course, the reason why Newvatican kisses up to Communists and decries a true traditional bishop is transparent: numbers and money. Just as American companies sell out their morals by trafficking with the Red Chinese Communists to sell Coca-Cola and the rest, so Newvatican sells out its morals (if it has any left after the Great Sex and Embezzlement Scandal) to get more bodies and money from a new populous source. Newvatican can't wait to Novusordoize them! Yet these are the same Red Chinese who murder the pope's clergy and religious in the public square and in police raids.
If the SSPX's Bishop Fellay were smart, he would seize on this Newvatican duplicity and claim that JPII "tacitly" approved the consecration of the SSPX bishops. Then he could call off his sycophantic trip to Newrome, and Benedict-Ratzinger would be forced to give up his duplicity and hypocrisy. Either accept all traditional bishops and Communist bishops formally, or excommunicate them all. He can't have it both ways.
You've got to hand it to these Newchurch bishops. They've drenched themselves in the stench of immorality, and yet they keep attacking Catholics whose only crime is to stay faithful to Christ and His true Church.
The latest ilk to play this game is "Rotten" Ray Burke of St. Louis. You remember him from past TRADITIO Commentaries. He's the one that received into a Newchurch religious order a transvestite. He tried to steal St. Stanislaus Kosta Church, granted some 125 years ago by the then archbishop to lay trustees to run. The board never took one red cent from the archdiocese, but Burke wanted to steal the property and assets of the c1hurch to pay off for his archdiocese's sex crimes. You know these Newchurch bishops: they're just thieving magpies.
The lay board referred to the church membership the question whether their new pastor could be "an ordained catholic priest whose ordination is recognized by Rome, but possibly not in favor with Rome." "Rotten" Ray had a fit and "excommunicated" the six members of the Board. Well, maybe. It seems that he didn't have the authority to do so. He made up an "automatic excommunication" category that doesn't exist in canon law. Sounds a lot like Newvatican and Archbishop Lefebvre's illegal and invalid "excommunication," doesn't it? These Newchurch prelates are lawless: they make up this stuff as they go along. It's all a "power game" for them.
True to the stripes of Newchurch bishops, Burke escaped out of the country so that he didn't have to make good his illegal "threat." The board should just get it over with. Let Burke pop his silly "excommunication" thunderbolts from his Newchurch manhole. Then St. Stanislaus Kosta Church will be free to hire a traditional Catholic priest. "Rotten" Ray will then have to play his Newchurch tiddlywinks all by himself, while the Stanislausians keep possession of a beautiful traditional church and $11,000,000 in assets.
As the Massachusetts state legislature debates bills to rein in Newchurch Corporations Sole (run by a bishop without supervision), a Boston College (Newchurch) professor has admitted: "The crisis of the Church in Boston is not about sex abuse anymore; it's about a collapse of institutional authority."
He is absolutely right. The Newchurch authorities have been caught in lies, deceit, embezzlement, and sex crimes. They answer to a New Order Modernist sect, not to the Roman Catholic Church of 2000 years. Since Modernism, condemned as the pinnacle of all heresies by Pope St. Pius X, teaches that there is no objective truth or morality, it is not surprising that its episcopal adherents have fallen into all kinds of immorality and have lost their authority. In past times, the Romans would have dumped these "prelates" into the Tiber river or run them out of town on a speedy Roman highway. Unfortunately, the Novus Ordinarians of the present day are too cowed to take any courageous action. Instead, they pander to episcopal prostitution of the Church to a counterfeit sect.
The Novus Ordinarians of Boston, who sat back for forty years while their Roman Catholic Faith was taken from them and while they sold out to a Modernist facade, are finally fighting back a little, conducting sit-ins so that churches, mostly of traditional Catholic architecture, will not be closed. These people are showing a kind of defiance of ecclesiastical error and injustice that would have been unheard of here a decade ago. "We've learned to say 'No' to bishops here in Boston," said one defiant leader, and called the defiance an "ecclesiastical Boston Tea Party."
Unfortunately, most of these Novus Ordinarians still don't see the Big Picture. They are motivated by nostalgia for their Newchurch parishes and church buildings, which have now become merely temples of the New Order. They have become so mixed up in the New Religion that they have forgotten the lessons of past troubled times in the Church and particularly the letter that St. Basil the Great wrote to his flock, when they were persecuted by the Arian heretics of the fourth century:
Who has lost and who has won in the struggle -- the one who keeps the buildings or the one who keeps the Faith? The Faith obviously. That therefore the ordinances which have been preserved in the churches from old time until now may not be lost in our days,... rouse yourselves, brethren,... seeing them now seized upon by aliens.
Dear Fr. Moderator:
Our Lord said that He would not leave His Church, and so I just can't believe that God would fool the bishops. We are just the sheep.
Fr. Moderator Replies.
Christ will not leave his Church, but what Church? Surely, the true Church that He established, not the false Church of the New Order, or of the New Pentecost, or whatever they decide to call it this week. No, it is the Roman Catholic Church, as defined by Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and 2000 years of continuous teaching that He will not leave. He most certainly is not in any Church of a "New Order" that is not His order.
God never fooled the bishops, but the bishops have on many occasions over those 2000 years fooled themselves. For example, the Great Doctor St. Jerome tells us that in the fourth century four out of five bishops were seized with the Arian heresy, and the pope cooperated with them. And what about the period of the Great Western Schism, when even the Saints couldn't agree on who the real pope was?
One cannot apply simplistic thinking that does not take into account the 2000-year history and doctrine of the Church. Yes, the Church will be there until the end, but Christ never said how. Instead, he said: "But yet the Son of Man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth?" (Luke 18:8/DRV). This statement led the Fathers of the Church to conclude that there might be only a remnant left in the end.
No Catholic will be a fool if he follows the teaching of the Church for 2000 years, from Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. But any Catholic would be a fool if he placed his trust in bishops preaching a "New Order" and a phony "Mess" and Sacraments, as, by doing so, he would not only cut himself off from the Faith but also from Sacramental grace.
Dear Fr. Moderator:
Since Vatican II there have arisen multiple branches of traditional Catholic faithful. There are the independents, SSPX, SSPV, CMRI, and others. As all wait for events that cannot be predicted, isn't there a danger that in the meantime fractures will creep into the Faith?
Fr. Moderator Replies.
Frankly, we find it amusing that a few people worry so much about what are trivial differences on the traditional side of things, when the New Order cannot even agree on the "Mass," the sacraments, Catholic doctrine, and Catholic morality! On the other hand, (traditional) Catholics agree upon the Mass, the Sacraments, Catholic doctrine, and Catholic morality. That's just about 100%!
There are no "branches" of true Catholicism, any more than the Dominicans and the Franciscans are different "branches." What will come in God's good time will come. We are held to acting rightly in the here and now: maintaining the true Mass and Sacraments, true Catholic doctrine, and true Catholic morality. We have had 20 General Councils and some 260 popes. Is there really anything more that we're missing after 2000 years? Christ's message is clear. It is not a question of what His message is, but whether we will follow His message.
As far as the pope bringing some kind of unity, that's a nice thought, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards right now. Papal teaching since Vatican II has been more confusing than clear. Often it seems to serve the unCatholic New Order. The post-Vatican II popes have essentially given up their disciplinary power by not acting to confront immorality among their prelates and presbyters. They have given up their doctrinal authority in the name of Vatican II "collegiality."
There will never be anything perfect on this earth. It is fruitless to look for it. Perfection is in the next world. God gave man the true Faith. He gave man the Mass and Sacraments and their graces to help him. Just make sure that you follow the Apostolic admonition to stand fast and hold the Catholic Traditions that you have learned. Eschew false religions, including the New Order sect, and you will be fine. Put your trust in Christ, and don't worry so much. His grace is sufficient for you.
We hadn't planned to comment on the sad case of Msgr. Eugene Clark, of the Newchurch Archdiocese of New York and a commentator on the Charismatic EWTN cable network, but quite a number of TRADITIO participants have asked about it, and now it is a matter of public record. According to information entered in divorce court based on a private investigation commissioned by the husband, Clark and the woman had been caught entering a Long Island motel and walking out five hours later in different clothing. Clark denied the charge in one-sentence statement, but did not fight its consequences, leaving all his ecclesiastical posts.
At a time when practically every day the news reveals yet another presbyter involved in sex crimes or yet another bishop involved in embezzlement or racketeering, for some reason the Clark case has hit a particular nerve. It is hard to know why, except that the man was exposed to the public over television on the EWTN cable network. Ironically, the series that Clark hosted was entitled "Relationships"! TRADITIO has warned again and again that this network is not Catholic, is run by (former?) Protestant Charismatics, and is a front for some really "bad stuff." Well, maybe those who persist in viewing this occasion of sin will finally switch it off!
The Clark case demonstrates the hypocrisy and schizophrenia of the "conservative" Novus Ordinarians. Clark was an outspoken advocate of the New Order who merely took a "conservative" moral line. Now for the "conservative" Novus Ordinarians, who are willing to accept the corruption of the New Order in liturgy and sacraments, that makes him a god. To the contrary, as society is beginning to learn, unless your morality is based upon the true Faith, it is essentially worthless. If you don't have the Traditional Latin Mass and Sacraments to be Christ's conduit of grace, you have essentially nothing more than the backwoods pagan aboriginal.
William Donohue, President of the Novus Ordo Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, who in the past had failed to condemn the desecration of a traditional chapel because it wasn't "recognized" by a Newchurch bishop, and once had called Clark "one of the princes of the Catholic Church," now stated to the press that he feels "personally betrayed." Well, true Catholics feel betrayed by Donohue's virulent Novus Ordoism. Now he is eating his words, just as he had to eat them in the case of the traditional chapel, after TRADITIO led a campaign against the duplicitous League, and many traditional Catholics canceled their memberships. Clark may after all have had something in common with the conduct of Newchurch prelates. James McCarthy, an auxiliary bishop in the New York archdiocese, already resigned after admitting that he had had sexual affairs with several women.
As is usual for Newchurch bishops, instead of confronting the morality issue like an Augustine, Edward Cardinal Egan of New York hid out. He refused to perform his usual Novus Ordo service on Sunday and will scuttle off to Cologne, probably hoping that the scandal will "blow over." Egan's silence screams all the louder since Clark was the rector of his cathedral. The guilty silence is reminiscent of JPII and Benedict-Ratzinger, who have never uttered one word of censure or discipline against their errant bishops. Qui tacet consentit.
The Clark case also demonstrates how absurd the idea of a married Catholic clergy is. This man was involved in adultery (or at least half adultery). He couldn't even conduct his tryst with an unmarried woman. At least then it would have been "only" fornication and wouldn't have destroyed a Catholic marriage. Such a man as a "married presbyter" could have the more easily committed adultery in the married condition. At least presbyters now cannot commit true adultery because they are celibate, that is, unmarried. And that dispensation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, as we are now realizing all the more, is a great protection!
Dear Fr. Moderator:
In your vision of the future, do you foresee that the New Order will mess things up so completely that it will be wiped out? If not that, do you foresee that the New Order dunderheads will come to their senses and reclaim and restore their traditional heritage?
Fr. Moderator Replies.
Here at TRADITIO we don't try to play "prophet," as all too many do these days ad absurdum. We crave no groupies to our personal opinions. We simply point out certain trends in a highly satirical way (but that is the Roman way, after all: satire was the only form of literature that the Romans invented by themselves) that our participants can analyze further for themselves.
Whether what we call Newchurch will return to the true Faith or whether it will first be destroyed before a restoration of that Faith, we will not predict. What we will say is that in similar situations in the history of the Church, a widespread destruction of error had to occur before a restoration. Think of St. Francis' stripping himself in the public square in the 12th century to begin the great Franciscan-Dominican restoration of mediaeval times. Think of the detailed rejection of Protestantism by the Council of Trent in the 16th century to begin the Catholic Counter-reformation of the "Enlightenment."
Yet, regardless of how strong that Catholic Counter-reformation was, large numbers of souls were lost to the Protestant heresy, never to be regained. Just so, in our own times, even larger numbers of souls will be lost to the New Order (Neo-Modernist) Heresy, never to be regained. Scripture does seem to indicate that the true Faith will eventually number only a small, but faithful, remnant. So our hopes should not be that grandiose as far as numbers and buildings are concerned. The true Church may well end up, as it started, one of quality, not quantity. We have to get that idealistized 1950s "blip" out of our heads, as it is becoming clearer that in the 1950s the seeds of the New Order Heresy were already beginning to erupt.
When His Apostles asked for a prediction of the future, Our Lord told them explicitly: "It is not for you to know the times or moments, which the Father hath put in his own power" (Acts 1:8/DRV). We should really not worry about these things. We are clearly in a period of test, as has happened again and again in the history of the Church. Our priority should be to pass the test of faith and follow St. Paul's admonition, given at a similar troubled time in the Church: "Therefore, brethren, stand fast: and hold the traditions that you have learned, whether by word or our epistle (2 Thessalonians 2:15/DRV).
What does a "modernist" organization like Newchurch do when it can't get employees? Why, create a new ad campaign, of course! It is well known that "vocations" to the New Order presbyterate are virtually non-existent. What man in his right mind could have a "vocation" to "preside over the assembly" and sit in a big chair idle while lay ministresses deliver the "eucharist" and "perform" the sacraments?
The best figure predicting the demise of Newchurch is that of seminarians. In the United States, before Vatican II always a vigorous source for new priests, the number of seminarians fell from 48,992 at its peak just before the New Order changes started going into effect, to 4,522 in 2003. That is a drop of some 90% in less than fifty years!
What we know is that, as far as vocations are concerned, it is the traditional Catholic Faith enshrined with Latin and Gregorian chant that attracts vocations to traditional seminaries and journeyman-priests. But Newchurch, as always, is going to the cheap ploy. It seems that to attract Novus Ordo "vocations," the U.S. Conference of [Newchurch] Catholic Bishops has commissioned an "edgy" poster showing a somber presbyter in full black cassock and sunglasses posed like The Matrix star Keanu Reeves. [Washington Times]
Following the "saintly" leadership of JPII to sell Newchurch out to "pop" culture, 5,000 posters will be passed out at Benedict-Ratzinger's Woodstock Youth Day in Cologne later this month. Newchurch dioceses are borrowing from Tinseltown to compare the Newchurch presbyterate to the heroes of Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Men in Black, Spider-Man, and Star Wars. Supposedly, potential Newchurch seminarians are inspired by cartoon characters, not Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul, let alone Christ!
According to the adage, "Garbage in, garbage out." One can only imagine what kind of presbyters Newchurch is going to have, if any. If these men ever make it through the "pink curtain," you will hear fatuous "homilies" praising Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi instead of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Newvatican has told Boston's Newchurch Archbishop Sean O'Malley that he cannot use the bank accounts and real-estate holdings of parishes that he has closed.
In effect, then, Newvatican has approved a reversion to the 19th-century concept of Lay Trusteeship in the United States, by which each parish ran its own affairs, even hiring and firing clergy. Many Catholics of the present day think of this structure as Protestant, but it was quite Catholic in the 19th century. It is acknowledged, however, that tremendous pressure is being put by "Malicious" O'Malley on the parish pastors to fork over the assets. Just as Newchurch bishops have persecuted traditional Catholic priests, they will certainly not stop at intimidating Novus Ordo presbyters to get the necessary mammon. O'Malley has stated publicly: "When all is said and done, I feel confident that what we've set out to do will be achieved, regardless of what canons we have to invoke."
Moreover, since the Newchurch diocesan structures around the country can no longer close parishes and steal their money, the dioceses will have no assets with which to pay off the increasing (not decreasing) judgments against them and may have to close up shop at last. Deo gratias! Critics claim dioceses are stealing as much as several hundred million dollars in cash donated and real estate funded by faithful Catholics over many generations, much of it before Vatican II and Newchurch ever existed. Spokane in Washington, Portland in Oregon, and Tucson in Arizona are already in bankruptcy proceedings.
That is not to say that lay trusteeship is, of itself, good or bad. It all depends upon the people running the parishes, just as it depends upon the people running the dioceses. If they are immoral, as so many of them have been proven to be, the "structure" makes no difference. Our only hope is that some of these parishes at least might go "independent" and return to the Roman Catholic Church, the Traditional Latin Mass and Sacraments, traditional doctrine, and traditional morality.
This is a metamorphosis. Just as it takes some time for the butterfly to emerge from a caterpillar, we will not see a change overnight. But the attacks against the false Newchurch are definitely underway. "And they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof" (Matthew 7:27/DRV).
It was all set. Diplomatic passport in order. Crozier and miter packed. Newchurch Archbishop William Levada of San Francisco, wanted by U.S. courts for testimony about how his former archdiocese fell into bankruptcy and became embroiled in sex crimes, was all ready to escape to Rome, there to hide from justice in the bosom of Benedict.
But at his "Farewell" Mess on August 7, his plans were all shot to Hades. A process-server jumped out of the crowd and slapped him with yet another subpoena to testify. Half a hundred protestors demonstrated against him outside St. Mary Maytag Cathedral. Last year the archdiocese of Portland, Oregon, became the first Newchurch diocese in the nation to declare bankruptcy, citing sex abuse lawsuits seeking more than $155,000,000 in damages. And inquiring Novus Ordinarians finally got up enough gumption to demand to know what role their archbishop had played.
So, the pope's new Sex-crimes Watchdog, William Levada, who previously had essentially told the U.S. courts to buzz off as he was above the law, now conveniently raised the "diplomatic immunity" newly furnished him by his new boss (accomplice?) Benedict XVI. The U.S. court, however, wouldn't let him go unless he agreed to testify, so "Lefty" Levada will be forced to waive diplomatic immunity and answer questions about his clergy's sex abuse -- or he will see the inside of an American gaol.
Under intense scrutiny as Newchurch's suppposed guardian of church doctrine (this of a prelate who has shamelessly pandered to San Francisco "gay" interests), Levada was also criticized recently for approving legal arguments that contradicted church teachings on birth control in a 1994 child support lawsuit involving an Oregon woman and a former seminarian studying to be a priest. "If you've got the stamp of the archdiocese on something, then it is the responsibility of the bishop or archbishop to make sure these kinds of things don't happen," one critic said. [AP]
Novus Ordinarians are always playing their games, challenging me to defend my traditional Roman Catholic Faith, challenging me to provide "sources," and when I do, they are never satisfactory. Well, this is how I put Novus Ordinarians on the defensive -- which is where they should be. We traditional Catholics don't have to defend ourselves. We are believing and practicing what the Church has for 2000 years. It is they who have to defend their unCatholic New Order.
The burden of proof is on your side. I am saying that the Church is in chaos and in eclipse. You say no, that the New Order is doing the will of God. Prove it!
In good conscience I cannot participate in something that goes against the traditions and teachings of the Church. Convert me! Go ahead; show me that you are right in your unCatholic actions and beliefs.
I am in good conscience, forced by the near destruction of Christ's visible Church and the introduction of new teachings, philosophy, worship, and Mass after Vatican II that are foreign and offensive to God and to His true Church. According to Vatican II, I must let my formed conscience be my guide, so even you, by your own Vatican II point of reference, cannot judge me!
I don't think that you will get too far because the Church is on my side, and you will have to fight 2000 years of tradition that contradicts you. The burden of proof is on your side. Good luck!
TRADITIO often speaks of the Novus Ordo Mess as "Protestant-Masonic-Pagan." Traditionally, the historical hostility of the Freemasons toward the Catholic Church and their affiliation with secret anti-clerical and liberalist movements has led the Church to penalize any Catholic who joins the Masons with excommunication.
Since the advent of Vatican II, Newchurch has associated openly with Masons. The excommunication was not mentioned in the "new" Codex Iuris Canonici of 1983, but in the traditional Codex of 1917, Masonry was declared an organization that machinatur contra Ecclesiam [plots against the Church].
What does it say about the association of Newchurch with Freemasons that the Masonic Lodge in Italy has now appointed a Newchurch presbyter as a Masonic Grand Official, to be its chaplain? This startling fact was revealed by Grand Master Fabio Venzi of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Italy on August 8. [CNA]
Perhaps the most significant Freemason who infiltrated the Church was Hannibal Bugnini, the Architect of the New Order and the New Mess through his position on the post-Vatican II Consilium ad exsequendam Constitutionem de Sacra Liturgia [Council for the Carrying out of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy]. His Novus Ordo Missae is reminiscent of the Masonic motto Novus Ordo Saeclorum on the back of the U.S. one-dollar bill. According to several sources at the time, on July 14, 1964, the Masonic Peerless Grand Master wrote to Bugnini as follows:
Dear Buan, We inform you of the task that the Council of Brothers has established for you in agreement with the Grand Master and the Princes to the Throne, and we charge you: ... to spread de-Christianization by confusing rites and languages and to set priests, bishops, and cardinals against each other. Linguistic and ritualistic babble means victory for us, since linguistic and ritual unity has been the strength of the Church.... Everything must happen within a decade.
Later the Masonic Grand Master congratulated Bugnini on having completed the job, not in a decade, but in only five years. Indeed the unCatholic, invalid New Mess was fabricated by a Freemason with the specific purpose of deconstructing the Roman Catholic Church. Bugnini and his "obedient" Novus Ordinarians, who to this day try to justify the phony Mess he made up, have almost entirely completed their work of deconstruction of Newchurch. Only traditional Catholicism remains as a bulwark of true Roman Catholicism against their Masonic designs.
Things certainly didn't go well for the pope's new Doctrinal Czar on Sunday, August 7, at his farewell Mess. Just as Newchurch Archbishop William Levada was processing up San Francisco's St. Mary Maytag Cathedral (so called locally because its architecture looks like a Maytag washing-machine) to have one last go at the Novus Ordo Mess, a server (process server, that is, not an altar server) rushed out of the crowd and slapped Levada with yet another subpoena in a sex-crime case before Levada could slip off to Rome to hide in the bosom of Pope Benedict-Ratzinger. Marching with Levada in that procession, by the way, was liberalist Newchurch bishop John Cummins, who in his writings can't seem to reconcile himself with the dogma on the papacy decreed by Vatican I.
It looks more and more like William Levada is being shuffled out of San Francisco with the assistance of Benedict-Ratzinger so that he can get out of the middle of the Great Sex & Embezzlement Scandal, which is starting now to cave in upon him personally. Levada, who has been the Newchurch archbishop of San Francisco since 1995, up until now has been the "Teflon Bishop." In charge of one of the most immoral Newchurch dioceses in the United States, he has kept pretty much under the radar screen. But now the stink is rising to the surface of the cesspool and is engulfing Levada.
Figuring that they weren't going to get another chance, a large contingent of "conservative" laypeople demonstrated in front of the cathedral, causing a confrontation with the Novus Ordinarians, who didn't want Levada exposed. The Novus Ordinarians, as usual, tried to lie to the press about what a wonderful bishop Levada is and what a great theologian he is -- this, of a bishop ensnarled in the Great Scandal in two dioceses and a bishop who sold out in secret to "gay marriage," after a token public opposition for the Novus Ordinarians.
Levada's supporters carried signs proclaiming that they were members of the "Neo-catechumenal Way," group that is associated with New Order extreme like Taize, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), Renew, Focolare, Cursillo, Legionnaires of Christ/Regnum Christi, Communion and Liberation, Miles Jesu, Theology of the Body, and Wicca (Gaia).
Levada is desperately trying to escape the United States, where he had already faced several subpoenas to fess up to what he did in 1986 to 1995 in Portland, Oregon, when he was archbishop there. The Portland court cut his wings, so that Levada can't claim "diplomatic immunity" when he leaves for Rome. The Portland archdiocese is now stewing in a growing sex-crime scandal and is headed for bankruptcy. And his didn't happen in just the last ten years since Levada was shipped down to San Francisco. This is the "traditional" Newchurch pattern. Just as it shifts its perverted presbyters around to escape the law, so it "transfers" bishops for the same reason.
This affaire de Levada is looking sleazier and sleazier. Is Benedict shipping Levada off to Rome so that he can hide out there, away from the American courts? Will Levada return to Portland, obeying the court order, or will he become a fugitive, hiding out at Newvatican?
But, in the end, this is just another demonstration of the real Benedict-Ratzinger, to whom the "conservative" Novus Ordinarian and SSPX liberalist fringe want to pander. Benedict seems to want to impose San Francisco's good riddance upon Newchurch as bad rubbish. It speaks volumes that Benedict insists upon appointing as Sex-crime Czar for Newchurch a bishop who is himself embroiled in the Sex-crime Scandal. It is just like U.S. President Bush appointing Al Capone to the Supreme Court to monitor the Mafia!
Dear Fr. Moderator:
I was doing some reading last night, and I was flipping through the channels at the same time when I came across Eternal Novus-ordo Propoganda TV (aka EWTN, or ENPT, as I like to call it). It was time for their rebroadcast of the "Mess of the Day." I was about to flip off the TV, but when I saw that the presbyter was about to do the Asperges, I left it on, curious just to see how he was going to do this. I needed a good laugh for the night.
I stayed watching to note down the few cookie crumbs of Latin that EWTN throws in an attempt to deceive people watching the Boob Tube Mess:
Do those EWTN Charismatic Protestants think that we are stupid? Do they think that throwing out a few crumbs of Latin is going to change the fact that what they are "performing" is an invalid Mess? As TRADITIO has said all along, EWTN's services are not Catholic; they are Novus Ordo Protestant-Masonic-Pagan Messes. An invalid semi "Latin Mass" is not the immemorial Traditional Latin Mass. Turn off EWTN; it's death to your soul!
The United States is on the verge of losing its celebrated Freedom of Speech. A case in point: the Red Cross Corporate Diversity Committees has fired Michael Hartman, an employee for expressing his disagreement with homosexuality. The man, who had been with the Red Cross for over thirty years, responded to an E-mail to all Red Cross employees from the Chief Diversity Officer David Wilkins, which lauded "Gay and Lesbian Pride Month."
As a Christian, Hartman was concerned by the E-mail and sent one of his own to his supervisor and several head administrators:
I would like to start by stating that I am a Christian not willing to compromise my beliefs to promote the agenda of the homosexual community. I would also like to say that I think it's disgraceful that while most of us [at the Red Cross] are trying to save lives, a select few are using this organization to promote their own lifestyles which in my opinion are unacceptable.
Hartman went on to say that if anyone reading his E-mail "is personally involved in this lifestyle, I think it's important that you know I have nothing against you as a person, but the life you've chosen to live." He added Bible verses including Galatians 6:7 and Joshua 24:15. He also suggested that since the Red Cross is "such a diversified organization," perhaps it should hold a Christian celebration!
It is important that Christians are alerted to this appalling situation, which involves not just the Red Cross, but many other large nonprofit "charitable" corporations. Many Christians give money or support to the American Red Cross without ever realizing that the organization openly promotes homosexuality. In the words of Michael Hartman, "If the public knew what was going on within the Red Cross, I have no doubt their unselfish support would screech to a halt." The Red Cross is not the organization it once was. It now siphons off such a percentage of "administrative expenses" from donations that it is one of the least "charitable" organizations around.
Catholic employees should resist in every way possible the pressure to support through "United Fund" drives support of corrupt "charitable" organizations that push an immoral homosexual agenda on the backs of their opposed employees.
And they tell us that the anti-Christian religion of Islam means "peace"!
One of the worst scandals of the modern papacy is the institution of Mundialis Iuventutis Dies, known in English as World Youth Day, the brainchild of the "Clown" Pope, JPII. Started in Rome in 1985, it quickly turned into a biennial New Order Woodstock. The supposed "Catholic" youth sacrilegious dressedly up in bishops' miters, trashed churches, staged immoral "rock" concerts, and generally behaved like a mob no better than the gang in Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange.
If Benedict-Ratzinger were anything like the pope the "conservatives" make him out to be, he would shut WYD down in a New York second! But, no, not only is he letting the XXth World Youth Day in Cologne August 21 go on; he himself is going to attend! In fact he made this papal Woodstock a hallmark of his papacy with the following insipid verbiage in his First Message, the day after his election:
Nominatim cogitamus adulescentes.
So now Our Lord Jesus Christ is characterized by his vicar as "Eternal Youth"! Notice that the pope is not properly exercising his papal office here. His office is to teach and rule, yet here is going to "dialogue" (colloqui). These post-Vatican II popes don't seem to consider themselves popes. At least they don't usually exercise the office in any Catholic way.
We seriously doubt that Benedict-Ratzinger is going to elevate world youth with his own pianistic renditions of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata or Mozart's piano sonatas, of which he said to be so fond of playing. No, he is actually allowing the Argentinean rock band Rescate to perform there.
As if the presence of a rock band at what is supposed to be a religious event weren't bad enough, the members of this rock band have made openly heretical statements to the press. The eight-member Argentinean rock band, in an interview with the Chilean web site Musica123, clearly enunciated the Protestant heresy when it said:
Personally, we don't think the pope is God's representative on earth. Jesus came to do away with any intermediary between God and man, and therefore we have a direct relationship with Him.... We are followers of Christ beyond any specific identity.... Therefore, why divide Jesus even more when in reality He came for all of mankind? Religion is responsible for creating these differences. [Catholic News]
We are also informed that the rock band JCroix, run by Newchurch French "monks," will also be present at WYD. This group was allowed in 2004 to use the traditional Cathedral of Metz to dance around the Novus Ordo table to techno music.
Present at the WYD sacrilege this year will be a contingent of the indultarian Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). It just goes to show how closely these "indult" groups are handmaiden of the New Order. What a deplorable fall WYD is from the Eucharistic Congresses held before the advent of the New Order, when not only youth, but all Catholics would join in worshipping the Most Blessed Sacrament with the Traditional Latin Mass, Benediction, and other traditional Latin devotions, elevated by the Sacred Chant and Sacred Polyphony, not lowered to the sewer with that immoral rock garbage that sadly corrupts the minds of post-conciliar youth.
Benedict-Ratzinger should be ashamed to permit this garbage to pollute the minds and hearts of the world youth that he claims to love so much.
It's no secret that Newchurch wanted to have nothing to do with producer-director Mel Gibson when he want to produce a scripturally-based film on The Passion of the Christ. The U.S. Conference of [Newchurch] Catholic Bishop criticized the film for not being "oecumenical" and for being "anti-Semitic." Gibson got enthusiastic support from traditional Catholics and fundamentalist Protestants, even Mosaic Jews (not the political-cultural-liberalist "Reform Jews"). Gibson trumped them all. The film, which received such condemnation from liberalists in Newchurch and other sects, went on to become one of the most popular films of all time. True religion does sell -- a lesson that Newchurch has forgotten.
Newchurch has no moral principles, particularly when it comes to money. It will sell its soul in a minute if it can profit. So, Newchurch is angling to ask Gibson to stage the Stations of the Cross in the streets if Sydney is awarded the 2008 World Youth Day. Actually, Gibson's participation would be used to help secure the bid. The Newchurch Archbishop of Sydney, George Pell, a participant in the sacrilegious WYD, has confirmed that intermediaries had "started approaches" to Gibson to stage Christ's final walk if Sydney is named as the next Youth Day host city.
Newchurch has already turned World Youth Day into a prostitution of religion (what little there is left in the New Order sect) to commercial interests. $80,000,000 is involved in the award of the WYD bid -- far from a trifling amount. WYD is just another Newchurch perversion, which should make Catholics thoroughly ashamed of the pope and his ministers. Pope Alexander VI is looking like a Saint compared to JPII and Benedict-Ratzinger. At least Alexander had appreciation for the classical and religious arts!
Gibson, an outspoken critic of Vatican II and Newchurch, has proven himself a very shrewd politician. Our bet is that he will deftly find himself "too busy" to stage a fiasco for Newchurch.
It shouldn't surprise us. Newchurch has robbed Catholics of their true Faith. Newchurch has robbed Catholic youth of their innocence. Newchurch has robbed the collection plate to pay off prostitutes. Now Newchurch is robbing from the dead.
Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin has accused the beleaguered Catholic Archdiocese of Boston of violating state law by failing to ensure the perpetual care of its 22 Catholic graveyards. Galvin accuses the Newchurch archdiocese of betraying its parishioners, who are told when they buy a plot that 10 percent of the price will be placed in the special fund for maintenance. State law requires that anyone who operates a cemetery must maintain a restricted trust fund solely for the perpetual care of the graveyard, according to the complaint.
"People are being deceived into believing that there is a perpetual care fund, when there isn't," Galvin said yesterday. "It's a financial shell game being played on the deceased and their families." Well, Secretary Galvin, you got that right. Newchurch has always been a shell game.
Archiocesan Chancellor David Smith said that the Church is exempt from the law. Galvin disputes that the Church is exempt. "The Church is not above the law," he said. Galvin, in an interview with the Boston Globe, said that several of the area's Catholic cemeteries show signs of serious neglect and disrepair. "The archdiocese has failed to keep its commitment, not only to the families, but to the deceased," Galvin said. Well, Secretary Galvin, you got that right. Newchurch has failed to keep all of its commitments to the Catholic Faith.
The archdiocese has about $17,000,000 for cemetery care. It is just possible that Newchurch Archbishop "Malicious" O'Malley is siphoning off those millions from the 500,000 interred Catholics to pay off for sex crimes? O'Malley already siphoned off $7,500,000 in 2003 from the cemeteries to the Newchurch diocese's seminary, Newchurch seminarians could be taught the false New Order Religion. O'Malley also sold off land from the oceanfront Star of the Sea Cemetery in Marblehead. More oceanfront condos for the bishop instead of graves perhaps? O'Malley has also been accused of raiding his presbyters' retirement funds.
Remember all that Novus Ordo hogwash about how the use of vulgar tongues in the Sacred Liturgy is so much better? Right about now the Novus Ordinarians are eating their own words! The new, new, new Novus Ordo Missal (it's already in its third major revision in less than fifty years), published in Latin in 2002, has encountered "real difficulties with the translation" in the latest draft. The Modernist ICEL (International Committee on English in the Liturgy), the group that has gaven the Novus Ordinarians their most ghastly "translations," has rejected half of the second draft "translation." One of the members of the original commission has already condemned its work and reverted to the Traditional Latin Mass.
Traditional Catholics all know R/. Dominus vobiscum. V/. Et cum spiritu tuo. The commission and the English-speaking bishops can't even agree on how to "translate" this most identifiable Catholic versicle and response! Some want to retain the defective And also with you. Others want to retain the meaning in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin: And with your spirit [they all now dump the use of the English language's reverent second-person-singular pronoun thy.]
It is anticipated that it will be at least another two years before the finalized "translation" is ready to be implemented in English-speaking Newchurch dioceses around the world. [The Tablet]
The Novus Ordinarians have shot themselves in the foot, of course. There is no "translating," particularly sacred texts. If you want to understand them, you understand them in the sacred languages in which they have been transmitted. Sure, you can have working translations, or paraphrases, or approximations, but it is mindless to think that one can "translate" the words and thought-processes of one language into another, particularly when it comes to sacred texts.
Here's a point where the Mohammedans have a better understanding than their "brothers," the Novus Ordinarians. Mohammedans don't allow the Koran to be translated for study and services. Mohammedans learn classical Arabic (not the same as modern spoken Arabic) to read and study the Koran.
Isn't this cute? A scout group from the Newchurch parish of St. Martin de Corléans in Aosta, Italy, has a "Dip It Yourself" Mess, in which the groupies dip their cookie into -- what? -- milk, grape juice, wine? What a cute way to indoctrinate the children into the invalid Counterfeit Mess of the New Order. "But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:6/DRV).
Just as the great Gothic cathedrals reflect the true Roman Catholic Faith, so do Novus Ordo church buildings reflect the New Order sect. A case in point is the church above, the "Guillotine" Blessed Sacrament Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan. All who enter have their Catholic Faith chopped off!
When you are tempted to enter a Novus Ordo church, remember the inscription on the portal to Hell, as poetically stated by the Franciscan Tertiary Dante Alighieri in his Inferno: Lasciate ogni speranza voi ch'entrate [Abandon all hope, ye who enter here].
A pattern that can be seen prominently in the Newchurch Great Sex & Embezzlement Scandal is that Newvatican shifts its bishops around from one diocese to another to shield them from criminal indictments. JPII even said that it was contrary to Apostolic Tradition to move bishops from one diocese to another, but Newvatican has never stopped doing it.
Benedict-Ratzinger went one better when he wrested Newchurch Archbishop William Levada from the corruption of the San Francisco Archdiocese to give him a Vatican diplomatic passport. This wasn't the first time that Levada had been wrested away from scandal by a transfer. Before he was wafted to San Francisco, Levada was Archbishop of Portland, Oregon, which is now in bankruptcy proceedings. Portland is also in the middle of sex-crime investigations, and guess who has been subpoenaed? Why, it's the same William Levada, whom Benedict-Ratzinger has appointed to be his own personal watchdog of Newchurch criminal clergy, otherwise known as the Czar of the Doctrine of the Faith. You can't blame this one on JPII!
Levada had been scheduled to give testimony this month about the handling of sex-abuse cases in the Portland, Oregon, archdiocese during his tenure as archbishop there from 1986 to 1995. But the fowl has flown the coop to Rome -- for the time being. The Portland judge was a shrewd cookie, though. He allowed the postponement of the deposition only on the condition that Levada would agree to appear for the deposition in January and waive claims to diplomatic immunity -- which he might otherwise invoke as a resident of the Vatican city-state, compliments of Benedict-Ratzinger. The court also said that the archbishop could not limit the scope of his testimony.
Lawyers for sex-crime victims had argued against postponing the deposition, arguing that Levada might decide to accept fugitive status within the walls of Città del Vaticano rather than fess up to what he did as Archbishop of Portland. Levada had offered to schedule the deposition immediately, but he had one important condition: he, not the court, would be the judge of what questions he would answer. Already the guy's gotten too big for his cassock. The court ruled deftly so that if Levada doesn't show up for the revealing deposition, he will become a fugitive. [CWN]
So now we have yet another piece of evidence about the direction that Benedict-Ratzinger's papacy is going. Those of you "conservatives" who thought that Ratzinger would be a different kind of pope must be crying in their German beer. His most prominent appointment is a man who is right in the middle of the Great Sex & Embezzlement Scandal and who is this close to being a fugitive from justice.
And this is the Newchurch official Benedict-Ratzinger picked to be the watchdog of Newchurch presbyters' and bishops' crimes? It seems that Benedict has put the fox in charge of the henhouse. Nothing new in Newchurch under Benedict.
Benedict-Ratzinger, ignoring the four historic attempts of Mohammedans to invade and conquer Europe, responded on July 20 to a journalist who asked whether Islamic terrorism shows that a clash of civilizations is underway: "There is no clash of civilizations; there are only small groups of fanatics."
But on July 7, a few hours after the terrorist attacks in London, Benedict's Secretary of State had disagreed with the pope. In an interview broadcast by the major television networks, Angelo Cardinal Sodano proclaimed: "We must end this clash of civilizations." That same day the pope's Secretariat of State defined the terrorist attacks in London as "anti-Christian acts."
The pope, however, seemed spaced out in his own dreamworld. "No, on the whole [the Mohammedans'] intention seems much more general to me, not precisely against Christianity." Okay, let's see now. New York terrorized by Mohammedans. London terrorized by Mohammedans. Madrid terrorized by Mohammedans. Hmmm, now what might be the common denominator here?
Immediately after the election of Benedict-Ratzinger, TRADITIO was the first to predict that the SSPX's Superior General, Bernard Fellay, would be summoned to Newrome. TRADITIO's contacts at Newrome and in the Society confirmed our predictions to us several weeks ago, but we were not at liberty to report on the matter publicly at that time. Subsequently, however, the matter has become public, so we can report that Fellay will be running off to Newrome to kiss the big toe of Benedict. Why, you ask? Good question.
Supposedly, the Society has laid down two non-negotiable conditions (for better or worse) for resuming "negotiations" with the New Order. The first condition is what the political-activist rioters of the 1960s always asked for first: amnesty. Fellay wants the "excommunications" of the four SSPX bishops lifted. Why is this even a consideration, since for 17 years the Society has published its position that the excommunications are invalid?! Rather than standing forth as a dry martyr for the Roman Catholic Faith, as Archbishop Lefebvre did, does Fellay hanker after "human respect" more than divine respect?
The second condition is a so-called "universal indult" for Pope John XXIII's Modernized Missal of 1962 (with which even Archbishop Lefebvre was not fully comfortable and from which he instructed deviations). When you think about it, a "universal indult" is a pretty naïve demand. First of all, the Ecclesia Dei so-called "indult" of 1988 has been a monstrous failure, almost a dead letter. Our reports from around the United States indicate that most of these "Indult Masses" are actually hybrids of the Novus Ordo service with the Modernized Missal of 1962. Cookies consecrated at the Novus Ordo are forced on the indultarians at the "Indult Mass," for example. If they object, the bishop just cancels the "indult."
With supposedly full papal support for 17 years, most of the dioceses in the United States, for example, don't have even a single "Indult Mass." Those that do usually have one for the entire diocese. The Newchurch diocesan bishops don't want the "indult," "universal" or otherwise. As Ecclesia Dei proves, the pope can sign any document he pleases, but the bishops will simply ignore it. And no post-Vatican II pope will push the issue. Ratzinger has already backed down at least twice on the issue when bishops objected. And his own German bishops objected the most!
And even if a "universal indult" were granted, can you imagine what would happen if a presbyter said to his Newchurch bishop, "I'm going to do an 'Indult Mass' at my parish. The pope says I can." That presbyter would be gone the next day, and a Eucharistic ministress would be installed! A "universal indult" is an entirely unworkable concept. It would set up an untenable and impractical bipolar authority structure in every diocese. The diocesan bishops and cardinals (they have the votes, remember) will never stand for it. They haven't stood for even the shadow of an "indult" for the last 17 years.
Moreover, what is the "Indult Mass" anyway but a devious method to ensnare semi-traditional Catholics into Newchurch? They will be forced to abandon the authority of Catholic and Apostolic Tradition and its perpetual canonization by the dogmatic decrees of the Council of Trent and Pope St. Pius V. They will be forced to swear to a non-Catholic, made-up "authority" of the post-conciliar popes to fabricate whatever New "Mass," New Sacraments, New Theology, and New Morality they please.
In other words, a "universal indult," just like the Ecclesia Dei "indult," is a sell-out to the Counterfeit New Order Church. Just ask Bishop Rifan of Campos what a crock the "indult" is, who was forced to concelebrate the Protestant-Masonic-Pagan Novus Ordo service in front of thousands of Brazilians to betray his consecration oath to God and publicly demonstrate his submission to serve the new god of the New Order.
If these are the Society's "non-negotiable" conditions, why does Fellay seem so ready to run off to Newrome to "negotiate" with Benedict-Ratzinger? What is there to "negotiate" about?
If Fellay had a gram of the fortitude of the Society's Founder, he would simply inform Newpope that the Society's conditions (for better or worse) are non-negotiable; that as soon as Benedict signs Benedictus XVI, seals with the pescatorio, and delivers with the bullae to the Society his unconditional acceptance of the non-negotiable terms, there will be no SSPX "pilgrimages" to Newrome.
But it may well be that for Fellay and the other members of his more liberal wing of the Society, the "fix" is in. His public statements and his sycophancy in communications for the Society immediately after the papal election outdid even former U.S. President Bill Clinton's explanation that "it depends on what the meaning of the words 'is' is." Fellay has clearly not learned from history, but again displays a naïveté that will probably end up ripping the Society from its Lefebvran foundations, just as the "indult" relegated the Fraternity of St. Peter and the other "indult" societies to the outer darkness, where the indultarians weep and gnash their teeth.
What moral obligation do prominent lay Novus Ordinarians have to speak out against the sex crimes and embezzlement and racketeering going on in their sect and to work to clean up the Novus Ordo sect?
Well, one "conservative" Novus Ordinarian, Senator Rick Santorum, of Pennsylvania, has himself charged his senatorial colleagues Edward Kennedy and John Kerry with "doing nothing. They spoke nothing. They sat by and let this happen." Santorum made the remarks on July 31 when he appeared on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos.
Kennedy is a notorious Novus Ordinarian, who divorced his wife of 24 years and mother of his three children and who admitted criminality in the drowning death of Mary Jo Kopeckne in 1969. Kerry is another notorious Novus Ordinarian, who publicly received "communion" from a Methodist-Episcopalian priestess and who publicly stood up for abortion "rights" during the recent U.S. Presidential campaign.
Kennedy and Kerry had been pilloried in the Boston Globe, which, in a front-page article on May 6, 2002, said that "the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church has generated a startlingly unusual reaction: dead silence."
As TRADITIO has previously indicated, only the tip of the crime syndicate being run by the Newchurch bishops in the United States and elsewhere has been revealed in the last few years. The newspapers, of course, focused on sex crimes because sex sells newspapers. But now that the sex angle has pretty much been played out, a syndicate of even worse crimes run by a conspiracy of Newchurch diocesan bishops is surfacing.
We have reported here before upon the rampant theft of huge amounts of money from Novus Ordo collection plates, most recently by a Chicago pastor who stole over $1,600,000 from his parish. Archbishop Rembert Weakland, of Milwaukee, stole $500,000. Presbyters and bishops across the United States have been caught red handed with Church money that Novus Ordinarians have donated to the needy stolen on a scale that very likely has never been seen before in the history of the Church.
Now we find out that Newchurch bishops have conspired with the police into ignorning crimes committed by their Novus Ordo presbyters and themselves. On July 31 the Toledo Blade revealed that a Toledo police chief acted as the agent of Newchurch bishops of Toledo to cover up sex crimes since Vatican II. A review of thousands of subpoenaed diocese and court records, as well as interviews with police officers, revealed that the police chief threatened to fire any police officer who investigated, let alone arrested, a Novus Ordo presbyter suspected of sex crimes against children.
Presbyter Robert Lamantia, a Novus Ordo pastor, confirmed that Novus Ordo presbyters perpetrated crimes against children because they knew police would not investigate. Lamantia revealed that Novus Ordo presbyters did not consider rape and molestation of the young as crimes to be handled by police. Lamantia said that the bishop and his officials had a contact in the police department who would kill any investigation or arrest of a Novus Ordo presbyter.
One police officer, Bill Gray, reported that he violated the don't-arrest-presbyters policy and said that he got "said he got harassing phone calls from his fellow officers," so entrenched was the police department's complicity with the bishop and Newchurch diocese in the sex crimes.
When are the law-enforcement agencies going to haul the 425 members of the U.S. Conference of [Newchurch] Bishops in as co-conspirators under the federal RICO (racketeering) act? In the past, this Act has been used to prosecute groups of anti-abortionists who engage in illegal activity. Surely, the U.S. bishops are far more criminal than the few pathetic anti-abortionist conspirators convicted under the RICO act of murdering doctors.
Dear Fr. Moderator:
New Order sources seem bent on trying to explain away Padre Pio's refusal to participate in the New Order. That Charismatic cable station, EWTN, seems to go to particular lengths to make Pio one of their New Order sect. What is the real story?
Fr. Moderator Replies.
Out of embarrassment at the hostile attitude that Padre Pio had toward even the "experimental" predecessor of the Novus Ordo service, the New Order apologists have perforce had to construct "cover stories" to explain his hostility.
Even before the end of the "pastoral" Second Vatican Council, in February 1965, someone announced to Padre Pio that soon he would have to celebrate the Mass according to a new rite, ad experimentum, in the vernacular, which had been devised by a conciliar liturgical commission in order to "respond to the aspirations of modern man."
Immediately, even before seeing the text, he wrote to Paul VI to ask to be dispensed from the liturgical experiment and to be able to continue to celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass. When Antonio Cardinal Bacci came to see him in order to bring the authorization, which Paul VI readily conceded, Pio let a complaint escape in the presence of the pope's messenger: "For pity sake, end the Council quickly."
Thus, Padre Pio never celebrated even a Missa Normativa, or interim Mass. He never said Mass in Italian or facing the people. Paul VI's full-blown Novus Ordo of 1969 was introduced more than a year after Pio had died.
But, in the end, it is immaterial what Pio did or didn't do. Priests don't make up theology and liturgy. Rather, the Sacred Liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church comes to us from Christ and His Apostles, perfected by the early Fathers and Doctors of the Church. The Holy Mass of Rome is enshrined in Sacred Tradition, which is argument enough by itself. For further information, see MASSTRAD: Traditional Roman Catholic Latin Mass in the TRADITIO Library of Files (Traditional Apologetics)."
However, so that there would never be concern by the faithful for holding fast to the Roman Catholic Mass when the Protestant services (all of them far more traditional than the latter-day Novus Ordo) were introduced in the 16th century, Pope St. Pius V in 1570, following the decrees of the dogmatic Council of Trent, specifically confirmed and canonized for all time the practice of Sacred Tradition and what we now call the Traditional Latin Mass.
TRADITIO is going to go out on a limb here. We were the first to suggest that JPII, because of his debilitating Parkinsonism, was slipping in his last years into a state of legal non compos mentis, in which he could no longer perform valid papal actions. That is why Newvatican was caught in lie after lie about his capacities, even going so far as to say that he celebrated the Novus Ordo service while his medical report indicated that he was flat on his back in a coma!
In this case, TRADITIO's suspicions were proven right. Evidence provided in the press and in the TRADITIO Commentaries at the time indicated that the pope's purported actions were in fact being engineered by others, just as Edith Wilson sealed documents dictated to her by others while U.S. President Woodrow Wilson lay incapacitated by a stroke. For example, evidence came out in the press leading to the suspicion that JPII died not on Saturday, but the Friday before, so that there was time for his "inner circle" to use his papal ring to seal episcopal appointments before his death was announced. The papal Fisherman's Ring suspiciously "went missing," and was not actually destroyed until several days after JPII's death. Traditionally, the pope's seal ring is hammered into oblivion as soon as the Camerarius announces the death at the bedside.
What do we know about the medical state of Benedict? In September 1991 he suffered a haemorrhagic stroke, which affected his vision. Since then, to the present day, he has dizzy spells and difficulty sleeping. This condition has been confirmed by his biographer John Allen and to the Associated Press by German cardinals who know him. His stroke was serious enough that he repeatedly besought JPII to release him from his Newvatican position so that he could retire back to Germany.
A haemorrhagic stroke, otherwise known as a bleeding stroke, can be caused by many things, including high blood pressure, head injury, or weak blood vessels. It is known that Ratzinger after his first stroke was knocked unconscious and bled profusely in August 1992 during a vacation in the Italian Alps when he fell against a radiator. Time and the Italian news agency ANSA reported the incident at the time. And why did he fall against the radiator. Was he having stroke-caused dizziness?
Philippe Cardinal Barbarin, of Lyons, revealed at the recent papal conclave that Ratzinger had suffered a second stroke within just the past two years and that he also suffers from a heart condition. After his second stroke Ratzinger again besought JPII without success to release him for medical reasons. Benedict's medical condition was confirmed by his elder brother Georg several times to the press after Benedict's accession. Since being elected, Benedict has at times had to be helped by an aide to stand during Church services. Benedict himself in comments to the College of Cardinals just after his election has stated that he expects to have a "short reign." [Sunday Times of London]
What is the significance of these medical facts? It is this. Stroke, particularly in the elderly (Benedict at 78 is the oldest man to become pope in 275 years, since Clement XII in 1730), not infrequently becomes associated with dementia as a result of the fact that blood flow to various regions of the brain is cut off. It is an explanation for a condition of irrational actions in the elderly called a "second childhood." Often increasing dementia is slow and subtle, but when one looks back after a period, the symptoms are unmistakable.
Is Benedict slipping into a state of legal non compos mentis through a dementia that will make his papal actions invalid on account of mental defect? Some possible signs have been evidenced. Benedict seems to have undergone a personality change of some degree around the months preceding and succeeding his election. He was JPII's "enforcer," but now for three months he seems content to do nothing doctrinal. He simply smiles for the cameras and plays the role of a gray-haired old grandfather. His documents, allegedly written by his own hand, such as his First Message, the day after his election, sound peculiar, even somewhat childish, as when he speaks of Our Lord Jesus Christ as "Eternal Youth." Is he in the initial stages of entering the dementia of a "second childhood"?
On June 26, at the regular Sunday Angelus, for example, an occasion when the popes usually address a few remarks to the crowd in the piazza below about Our Lord or the Blessed Virgin Mary, or perhaps the liturgical season, Benedict addressed one of the most pressing problems in the Church today: bad drivers! The successor of St. Peter, seeing the increasing godlessness of Europe and the world at large, seeing immorality and corruption sweeping his bishops, seeing the Novus Ordo service made a laughing-stock, chooses to trivialize the Faith into a motor-car driving lesson.
At the July 17 Sunday Angelus, Benedict extended his theological series on how to have an enjoyable vacation, by pontificating on the benefits of a "getaway vacation, especially one spent in the outdoors." At this rate, his next sermon will be a recommendation of good vacation spots and a recommendation of good travel agents! Is this just another indication that Benedict has had too many bumps in the head and is gradually slipping by senile dementia into an old man in his second childhood? [CNS]
It is hard to come to a definite conclusion yet, but the situation bears close monitoring, as it pertains directly to the validity of papal actions. Be prepared, folks. We may suffer a repeat of the demented JPII papacy, in which the pope seemed more disposed to play with clowns than to act as pope. How many of his latter-day supposed papal actions were in fact not papal actions at all, but engineered by the Machiavellis that surrounded him? We'll probably never know, but we certainly have reason to be suspicious of the validity of those actions.
The Boston Archdiocese will be receiving a tax bill for $42,000, just the first of many to come. Other Newchurch dioceses that have closed (mostly) traditional church buildings, beware! Tax bills are coming your way too.
You see, county tax assessors have figured out that if you close a church, that church no longer can claim exemption from local property tax, as it isn't being used as a site of religious worship. So, as a start, 15 hectares of property at St. Frances Cabrini Church will be taxed. [Quincy Patriot Ledger]
TRADITIO predicts that in time Newchurch, with its rampant embezzlement, sex crimes, episcopal racketeering and conspiracy, and general moral depravity is going to end up being thrown out with the rest of the trash. Bishops are already giving up their control of parishes so that they parishes will have to take the financial fall for lawsuit payoffs. Dioceses are declaring bankruptcy. Longtime Novus Ordo supporters are walking out. Now the counties are going to start taxing the once church buildings.
The era of the Newchurch Big Lie is over. Even the pope admits it. The "New Springtime" of Vatican II and the New Order has passed into the "Winter of Discontent." After divine Providence plays itself out, the only ones left standing will be traditional Roman Catholics. Then the restoration and reformation of Holy Mother Church will undergo such an outflowering of grace as has not been seen since the Holy Council of Trent.
The true Faith has always been persecuted. Those who lived during the recent "glory days" of the 1950s unfortunately had their perceptions perverted to believe that this was the normal condition of the Church. It was not, any more than the security that Americans, British, and Spanish felt from Islamic attacks was a phantom, shattered by 9/11 and its sequelae.
Certainly we all see the danger to the Faith from Islamism, but there is a danger much closer to home, and its purveyor is Canada. What has been going on in this once Christian state should send chills up every free man. What Canada is planning is no less than the persecution and suppression of the Roman Catholic Faith, or any Christian faith, for that matter.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has broadcast calls for nothing less than "regulating the practice of religion." This campaign, which is principally anti-Catholic in its intent, has gained attention as the Canadian Senate approaches the final vote on the "gay marriage" bill. Spokesman Bob Ferguson, a professor of the Royal Military College, called for state control over religion, specifically Catholicism.
Ferguson wants complete state control over religion. Again, he singles out Catholicism: "Given the inertia of the Catholic Church, perhaps we could encourage reform by changing the environment in which all religions operate. Couldn't we insist that human rights, employment and consumer legislation apply to them as it does other organizations? Then it would be illegal to require a particular marital status as a condition of employment or to exclude women from the priesthood." Abortion enforced upon Catholics would of course be included, as Canada goes far beyond Roe vs. Wade.
Ferguson also envisages "oecumenism" enforced by the state. "They will never achieve unity so why not try for compatibility? Can't religious leaders agree to adjust doctrine so all religions can operate within the code?" Here is the Secular One-World Religion in all its Satanic darkness. The state would also license "religious practitioners" who met the approved secular and "oecumenical" qualifications. "No one could be a religious practitioner without this qualification," Ferguson said.
Religion is important in our lives, but it can become a danger to society when people claim that the unalterable will of God is the basis for their opinions and actions. Yes religion can be a comfort and a guide, but we cannot take rules from our holy books and apply them to the modern world without democratic debate and due regard for the law." Canada would thus be powerless to resist terroristic Islamism, just as the resistance of the Americans, British, and Spanish has been eviscerated because "we all worship the same god" with the terrorists.
Then Ferguson makes the most chilling of all his statements. "Of course the Vatican wouldn't like the changes, but they would come to accept them in time as a fact of life in Canada. Indeed I suspect many clergy would welcome the external pressure." In other words, Ferguson has Newvatican's number. The popes will not fight like St. Paul for morality. He will issue a few mealy-mouthed statements, but accept the immorality in the end. This is what Paul VI, JPII, and Benedict-Ratzinger have done to the Church. They have turned it into a pusillanimous non-entity.
On August 2 the Catholic faithful may avail themselves of the plenary indulgence known as the Indulgentia Portiunculae is named after the portiuncula, or "little portion" of land, on which St. Francis built his church at Assisi. The priest of your traditional church or the rector of your chapel or oratory may transfer the day for gaining the indulgence to the following Sunday, August 7.
The plenary indulgence is attributable only to one of the Holy Souls in Purgatory. To gain the indulgence, one must receive the Sacraments of Penance and Holy Communion, and recite six Paters, Aves, and Gloria Patris in a church or chapel. This is a toties quoties indulgence; that is, it may be repeated as many times on the same day as the conditions are fulfilled.
What greater good work could be performed for a deceased relative or friend, or even an unknown soul? As the Church teaches, those who extend mercy to the Holy Souls in Purgatory will receive manifold mercy in return.
In a rare statement admitting the failure of Newchurch, otherwise known as the Church of the New Order, the Church of the New Pentecost, the Church of the Vatican II Springtime, etc., etc., Benedict-Ratzinger on July 25, in a speech to Italian presbyters, lamented the fact that the Newchurch is dying in Europe, the United States, and Australia. He specifically acknowledged what everyone knows, that in Europe and elsewhere, the number of Newchurch presbyters has fallen sharply because very few are drawn to the "presbyterate" concocted by Newchurch to replace the Roman Catholic priesthood. He also admitted that even in Africa, where the ranks of the presbyterate is growing, "would-be priests were only looking for a better life."Then he proceeded to confirm the stance of his predecessor, JPII, to continue the papacy in its state of impotence by practically renouncing the divine constitution of the office. You Novus Ordo "conservatives" and papolators listen carefully to what the pope himself says: he "isn't an 'oracle' and is infallible only in rare situations."
TRADITIO repeats what it has said over and over again. Newchurch openly admits the truth. The Novus Ordo "conservatives" and papolators simply need to get the cerumen out of their ears and listen to what the pope is really saying instead of concocting their own "edited" versions. If they ever really did that, they would hightail it back to the true, traditional Roman Catholic Church as fast as they could -- if they had a gram of Catholicism in them. [AP]
Australian Newchurch bishops are wondering why there has in recent years been a dramatic falloff attendance among long-time (20, 30, and 40 year) regular attendees at the Novus Ordo service. They have commissioned a research project to find the reasons why Novus Ordinarians leave the Protestant-Masonic-Pagan service after they have attended Sunday Novus Ordos for many years without fail.
Well, TRADITIO is happy to notify the Newchurch bishops that they can save their money. No research is necessary. The reason is obvious. The novelty has worn off. The Novus Ordo is just like the hula hoop -- a momentary flash in the pan. But now, to continue the metaphor, the fat has hit the pan.
St. Paul warned us 2000 years ago: "For there shall be a time when they will not endure sound doctrine but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables" (2 Timothy 4:3-4/DRV). The great Saint was exactly foreseeing Vatican II and its New Order: the erection of a Newchurch based upon fables. It is hard to think of an institution that has told more fables, and been caught in them, than Newchurch!
