It has taken over forty years, but one Newcardinal has seen too late the truth of Paul VI-Montini's chilling statement:
The Church finds herself in an hour of anxiety, a disturbed period of self-criticism, or what would even better be called self-destruction [auto-distruzione, auto-demolition, auto-destruction]. It is an interior upheaval, acute and complicated, which nobody expected after the Council. It is almost as if the Church were attacking itself. We looked forward to a flowering, a serene expansion of conceptions which matured in the great sessions of the council. But ... one must notice above all the sorrowful aspect. It is as if the Church were destroying herself.
Montini, who promulgated every single one of the fourteen documents of the Modernist Vatican II Anti-council -- John XXIII promulgated not a single one -- just three years after the close of the Anti-council, made that statement in his December 7, 1968, Address to the Lombard Seminary at Rome, which has been buried by the rabidly-Modernist post-conciliar Newprelates. It is just too embarrassing that Montini essentially recanted the Vatican II heresy, but had not the courage to pull the plug on the implementation of the Anti-council, much to his eternal infamy.
Now Newcardinal Walter Brandmueller has similarly told the German newspaper Rheinische Post, on July 1, 2015, that he sees in certain circles in Newchurch almost a "perverse lust for self-destruction," for example, "by undermining the procreation of life in different ways and in putting into question the natural sexual identity of man and woman." Brandmueller described the danger of adapting to "political correctness." He decried his fellow Newbishops for falling into a "dynamic of silence ... and thus silently watch the execution."
Now, all too late, Brandmueller, retired and age 82, practically called his fellow Newbishops perjurers and apostates: "Did not the [New]bishops at their consecration promise that they would proclaim faithfully the Gospel of Christ and would preserve, pure and entire, the Deposit of the Faith according to the Tradition as held by the Church, always and everywhere?" Actually, Newchurch since 1968 has not consecrated bishops under the Sacrament of Holy Orders, but merely "installed" them as Newbishops to administer Newdioceses. Thus, they became merely graceless stooges for the Newpope Modernist autocrats.
True Catholics, like all the hypocritical Newcardinals, Brandmuller waited until he was out of office and on death's door to speak out. He criticizes his fellow Newcardinals of apostasy, but did he himself speak out when he was in power? No! If he thinks that the true Church has been destroyed by this time, he should start by blaming himself first!
"Actions speak louder the words," as the saying goes. To prove the point, Francis-Bergoglio has advanced his "gay" agenda -- remember his infamous "Who am I to judge [sodomy]?" -- by personally appointing paedophiliac Newbishops and Newcardinals to lead his October 2015 Anti-family "Extraordinary Synod" and by demoting supporters of traditional theology on the family, hypocritical Neocons as they are, such as Newcardinal Raymond "Bully" Burke, Newbishop Robert Finn, Newarchbishop John Nienstedt, Newbishop Rogelio Ricardo Livieres Plano, and Newbishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst. In fact, Bergoglio has been conducting an "ideological purge" of Neocon Newprelates from his Newvatican, in an effort to expurgate Newprelates who give even lip-service to Neoconservatism, not to say traditionalism, which is a lost cause in Bergoglio's Newvatican.
In both Ireland and the United States, "gay marriage" was recently approved, in the former country by a popular referendum, in the latter country by a court decision. And Francis-Bergoglio's response: silence, not condemnation, even when importuned by the international press for a clear statement. But Bergoglio has spoken loudly by act: the Third Paedophile Newpope has appointed to be leaders of his Anti-family Synod Newbishops and Newcardinals who are known paedophiliacs, who themselves have been publicly supporting and advancing the sodomites' agenda. True Catholics, Francis-Bergoglio's appointments of paedophiliacs to lead his Anti-Family "Extraordinary Synod" is all too reminiscent of what happened at the Vatican II Anti-council, at which bishops from the Liberalist-Modernist Germanic countries perpetrated a scam to lead the Anti-council when John XXIII dying of stomach cancer. The scam by the Modernists to take over the Anti-council was the subject of a famous 1967 historical work by Ralph Wilgen entitled, The Rhine Flows into the Tiber: A History of Vatican II.
Newcardinal William Baum, the senior American member of the College of Newcardinals, died in Washington, D.C., on July 23 at the age of 88. Baum had cooperated with Newcardinal Ratzinger in destroying the Traditional Latin Mass by guile, as documented by the Italian daily Il Giornale in a stunning revelation in 2007.
Il Giornale revealed that when an "indult" for a "Latin Mess" was first being discussed in 1982, Ratzinger, who was then Newvatican's Prefect of the Doctrine of the [New Order] Faith and the "Unsaint" JPII-Wojtyla's right-hand hatchetman, presided over a meeting on November 16, 1982, which proposed that an "indult" be given not even for the half New Order "Mess of 1962," but for the outright invalid "Mess of 1967." The "Mess of 1967" already included three waves of changes destroying the Mass, issued as Instructiones by Hannibal Bugnini's Commission of Six Protestant Ministers after Vatican II (1963-1967) and before the final imposition of the full-blown New Order service in 1969.
The "Mass of 1967" includes the Bidding Prayers imported from Protestant services ("For all gays and lesbians, may Catholics embrace their sexuality and diversity: Lord, hear our prayer"), the removal of the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar and of the Last Gospel, the abolition of traditional liturgical vestments, and the suppression of genuflections, among other Vatican II "reforms." Most notably, however, the "Mass of 1967" included the infamous corruption of the Sacred Canon and its Consecration, and the addition of Hannibal Bugnini's three fabricated and invalid new "Eucharistic Prayers."
It was this very "Mess of 1967" that spurred P.H. Omlor to write his devastating 1968 book, Questioning the Validity of the New, All-English Canon, which was the first work to throw down the gauntlet publicly to Newchurch and to call its "Mess" an invalid contravention of Roman Catholic sacramental theology. The recommendations of the Secret Ratzinger Commission had remained unpublished until 2007, when Il Giornale secured the confidential minutes of the meeting. These minutes record that Ratzinger was joined at the meeting by Newcardinals William Baum, the Prefect of Catholic Education; Sebastiano Baggio, the Prefect of Bishops; Agostino Casaroli, the Secretary of State and most important person after the Newpope; Silvio Oddi, the Prefect of Clergy; and Archbishop Giuseppe Casoria, the Prefect of the [New Order] Sacraments and Divine Worship.
The Secret Ratzinger Commission, appointed by JPII-Wojtyla, recommended that "the Roman Missal in the form in which it remained in use up to 1969 [when the Novus Ordo service was imposed] ... should be admitted by the Holy See for all Masses [sic] celebrated in the Latin language." There were two provisos attached to this recommendation:
Even more shocking was the Secret Ratzinger Commission's recommendation that in future "a synthesis of both Missals [the traditional Missal and the Novus Ordo Missal] be made. In other words, the traditional Missal, or at least the Missal of 1962, should eventually be merged into the New Order service of 1969, fabricated by the Freemason presbyter Hannibal Bugnini and his Committee of Six Protestant Ministers. Ratzinger, after he became Newpope, confirmed that same plan for merging the semi-traditional and full-blown New Order Mess in his July 7, 2007, infamous Motu Proprio Summorum pontificum."
As it happened, the recommendations of the Secret Ratzinger Commission, which the minutes show were adopted unanimously by all members present, were not all included when JPII-Wojtyla published the first "indult" for the "Mess of 1962," in the Apostolic Letter Quattuor abhinc annos of October 3, 1984, or the second "indult," in the Apostolic Letter Ecclesia Dei of July 2, 1988, probably because of the threats of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, founder of the Society of St. Pius X, and of other independent priests and organizations, many of whom refused to have anything to do even with the Bugninized/Modernized Missal of 1962.
True Catholics, Benedict-Ratzinger, William Baum, and their colluders were no "traditionalists," but merely saw any "indult" or "motu" for a defective untraditional "Latin Mess" -- most certainly not the Traditional Latin Mass -- as a transitional phase carrying out the Modernistic prescriptions of Vatican II. Benedict-Ratzinger & Co. clearly intended to sucker "pseudo-traditionalist" groups into making deals with the New Order and then gradually "merging" the defective untraditional "Latin Masses" into the New Order service. Traditional Catholics reject the half New Order "Mess of 1962" and celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass before Hannibal Bugnini's Modernist changes, that is, before 1951.
The respected Pew Research Center's recent study, previously reported in these Daily Commentaries, confirms that Newchurch is sinking rapidly in the United States and elsewhere and that Secularism is rapidly taking its place. An outgrowth of this secular movement is the resurgence of Satanism, a phenomenon that Our Lord Himself had to address in Biblical times. "And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges" (Matthew 12:27/DRV), said He of the Babylonian demon known as the "Lord of the Flies."
On July 25, 2015, the long-awaited statue of Baphomet, a representation of Satan, was unveiled in Detroit, Michigan. The bronze statue rises to a height of three metres and weighs one metric ton. It is accompanied by an inverted pentagram and flanked by statues of two young children gazing up admiringly at the Demon, shows Satan with horns, hooves, wings, and a beard. Baphomet was the demon that the Knights Templar were accused of secretly worshiping in chapter houses across Europe and the Holy Land before the order was disbanded by Pope Clement V in 1312. Back in the Templars' day, Baphomet was said to be a disembodied head, but has been represented as a goat-headed figure since the 1800s.
The Satanic Temple, having won its lawsuit against the State of Oklahoma, will now work to have the statue erected in front of the Statehouse of Arkansas, where a Ten Commandments monument is planned. The Supreme Court of Oklahoma had agreed with the Satanists and banned a monument of the Ten Commandments in front of the Oklahoma State Capitol. True Catholics, with the Modernist Vatican II Anti-Council teaching that we all worship the same god and that all religions are equal, the Newdoctrine known as (False) Oecumenism, membership in the Newchurch of the New Order, constituted by Paul VI-Montini on December 4, 1963, has continuously sunk, as has worship at its satellite, the Protestant-Masonic-Pagan New Order service. Presbyters are dying off in record number with no ones to replace them, New Order nuns have become a rare species, and religious brothers are virtually non-existent. No wonder Satan has seized the opportunity to fill in the gap with his nequitiam et insidias, as the traditional Catholic Leonine Prayers after Mass describes him.
To launch his Newpapal regime, Francis-Bergoglio needed a scapegoat. The Marxist Bergoglio did not choose to prosecute one of the Newprelates who were running the Vatican Bank as a crime syndicate so nefariously that the European Union's financial regulators cut off Newvatican's ATMs and threatened to cut off the Vatican Bank from all intercourse with other European banks. The homophiliac Bergoglio did not choose to prosecute one of the thousands of Newcardinals and Newbishops who were either personally involved in the sodomy and rape of children or in actively supporting that sodomy and rape of children.
No, Francis-Bergoglio instead chose to prosecute a Newbishop whose crime was restoring churches. While other Newbishops were spending millions of dollars from the collection-plate on fancy retirement spas for themselves, Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst, Newbishop of Limburg, Germany, was spending money on a Newdiocesan convent, library, and ecclesiastical offices, carefully coordinated with the architectural design of buildings in historic Limburg. While other Newbishops were destroying historical churches, Tebartz-van Elst was restoring the great cathedral in the town square.
Bergoglio, passing over the bank fraudsters and paedophiles amongst his own Newclergy, fired Tebartz-van Elst for being "too Catholic." Now Bergoglio has decided that he needs to juice up his own popularity, which, according to a July 2015 Gallup Poll, has fallen by one-fourth in just the last year. Like a mediaeval pontiff, he is going to put Tebartz-van Elst on trial to pay back the money. Of course, Tebartz-van Elst doesn't even have the money. True Catholics, Tebartz van-Elst was actually quite frugal. For all this architectural work, he spent only about 30,000,000 dollars. A far more corrupt Newbishop in California robbed the parochial school fund to the tune of well over 200,000,000 to build an unnecessary new cathedral from the ground up, later dubbed "Superman's Ice Castle" because of the extraterrestrial look of the monstrosity. That Newbishop got off scot-free for his theft from the children.

Can non-Catholic parents request the Catholic Church to baptize their child? Can the godparents (sponsors) be non-Catholic?
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
A child of infidel (non-Catholic) parents, can generally not be baptized, as the Church would have no certainty that the child would be raised in the Catholic Faith. In the exceptional case, there must be a guarantee that the child will be brought up in the Catholic Faith, and at least one of the parents must consent. Otherwise, the child must come to the age of discretion and seek Baptism himself.
A godparent (sponsor) cannot be non-Catholic because the function of the godparent is to ensure the religious training of the child in the Catholic Faith. Non-Catholics (heretical, pagan, atheistic, etc.), who do not have the true Faith, cannot fulfill that role, or are not likely to do so.
Since even many traditional Catholics today are ignorant of what the requirements are to become a godparent (patrinus) are and what the duties of a godparent are, we review them here so that no traditional Catholic can plead ignorance in the future. First of all, the duty of a Catholic godparent is serious, not just an "honorific" occasion for a "photo op" to be included in baby pictures, as many these days seem to think!
The godparent, during the Baptismal ceremony, enters into a solemn contract before God, in fact into a "spiritual kinship" with the child, that requires him to take care that the child is properly instructed in the Catholic Faith and that he lives a Christian life, particularly when the parents fail in their responsibility, a circumstance that is all too common today.
The canonic requirements for a person to act validly and licitly as a godparent (one man or one woman, or one of each sex) are essentially the following:
Undoubtedly, you've heard the constant spewing forth from all of Newvatican's reconstituted press agency and its satellites in the secular press about how popular Francis-Bergoglio is supposed to be. Undoubtedly, you have been inundated with images of Bergoglio kissing babies, kissing Jewish rabbis, kissing Mohammedan imams, kissing Protestant ministers, and all the rest. Undoubtedly, you've heard that everyone loves this Newpope, "Mr. Humble," who is the greatest one since Peter -- greater even!
A July 22, 2015, Gallup Poll, taken just two months before Bergoglio's planned September 19-22, 2015, junket to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York shows that the Newpope's approval rating among Americans has plummeted, driven mostly by a decline among political conservatives and Newchurchers themselves. In just fifteen months, Bergoglio's popularity has fallen by one-fourth. Neocons disapproved Bergoglio by one-half. The causes were Bergoglio's secular political screed (encyclical letter) on "global warming," his Marxist speeches during his July 2015 South American junket, and his involvement in the United States' recognition of Communist Cuba.
One of the most interesting results of the Gallup Poll turned out to be that Newchurchers polled were the most disgusted at the Newpope whom just a couple of years ago they had hailed. They described Bergoglio as "haranguing, harping, exhorting, lecturing, and grating."
Across the Atlantic Ocean, the new was no better. The German Bishops’ Conference issued a press release on July 17, 2015, that the numbers of Newchurchers leaving Francis-Bergoglio's New Order Sect are at their highest on record. In 2014, 22 per cent more Germans abandoned Francis-Bergoglio's Newchurch than in 2013 -- more than ever before. 218,000 Newchurchers left in 2014, and only 10,000 entered -- the lowest number ever. The aptly-named Newarchbishop of Munich, Marx, had to admit the truth: "We [in the New Order sect] do not reach people with our message."
Attendance at the invalid Protestant-Masonic-Pagan New Order service has also plummeted. In 1990, the percentage of regular attendance at Sunday service was 21.9. That percentage has now sunk to 10.8, a loss of one-half in just 25 years. In the last 15 years, the number of active Newchurch presbyters has sunk by 30 per cent, the number of male Newchurch religious has been cut by 30 percent, and the number of female Newchurch religious has been cut nearly in half. True Catholics, none of the Newpopes since Paul VI-Montini has been officially crowned as pope, so they, as Francis-Bergoglio, were never given the warning, traditionally imparted when, thrice as the pope was carried in state through St. Peter's Basilica on the sedia gestatoria, under a white canopy, with the papal flabellae on either side, the procession was halted, and a bundle of flax lashed to a gilded staff was burnt before the newly-elected pope, while the Magister Ceremoniarum gravely warned: Pater Sancte, sic transit gloria mundi. The truth is now undeniable: the New Order sect, concocted at the Modernist Vatican II Anti-council and now headed by Francis-Bergoglio, has been the kiss of death.
Those prideful scientists who in the past disbelieved in God are now singing a different tune since the images from the New Horizons space probe have returned images of the dwarf planet Pluto. On July 20, 2015, the probe returned the first close-up photographs of the planet in human history. And scientists could explain virtually nothing of what they were seeing. It was as if God were telling their limited human intelligences: I am not mocked! Have you forgotten my Psalmists' wordes: "Caeli ennarant gloriam Dei, et opera manuum eius annuntiat firmamentum (Psalms 18:2/V).
As scientists stood agape while the probe took over five hours to transmit back to Earth its images, they saw a "heart," ice mountains, and smooth plains -- all inexplicable by modern science. The heart, now technically called in Latin -- yes, Latin is still the fundamental language of science -- Regio Tombaugh, after Pluto's 1930 discoverer, Clyde Tombaught, is a range of over 3,000 metres high. But creating such giant ice peaks requires powerful tectonic forces of some kind. Where did those forces come from?
Said one scientist: "We're scratching our heads.... This terrain is not easy to explain." No, not without a God of Creation. "Nature continues to surprise us," said another scientist. For a scientist, "Nature" means "God," but many are afraid to use the latter word. Scientists just don't know how to explain the features that they are seeing in the New Horizons images.
Because of its eccentric orbit, Pluto's mean distance from the sun is about 5,000,000,000 kilometres. Its mean apparent magnitude is 15.1, a value meaning that only the largest telescopes can even see it, let along distinguish it from a very dim star. Scientists' best guess about Pluto before New Horizons was that it was an inert ball of ice. That guess turned out to be dead wrong. The probe's images show that Pluto is most emphatically not an inert world. Its surface is dynamic and renewing. Parts of Pluto may well be active today, in spite of the fact that its mean surface temperature is -229 degrees Celsius (absolute zero, when all atomic movement ceases, is not that much colder: -273 degrees Celsius). Not only Pluto, but its five known moons, named in Latin after companions of the Roman god of the Hades: Charon, Styx, Nix, Cerberus, and Hydra. The primary moon, Charon, at one-third the size of Earth's moon, Luna, shows signs of active geology, totally unexpected by the astonished scientists. True Catholics, the Catholic Church has traditionally been the world's greatest seminary of scientists. People forget that, besides the ancient Greek Aristarchus (those ancient Greeks certainly seem to have been divinely inspired), the modern proponent of the heliocentric theory of the solar system was a Catholic cleric, Nicolaus Copernicus, born almost 100 years before Galileo. It is only in the modern age, with such Philistines as Francis-Bergoglio prattling about his unproven notion of "global warming," that Newchurch -- which is certainly not the Catholic Church--, is openly ridiculed in scientific circles.
Newchurch, in spite of itself, has gotten this one right. No Newchurcher should ever kneel at Mess because there is never any Sacrament present. The clergy are unordained Protestantized ministers, who have no power to confect the Most Holy Eucharist, and the "Ordinary" Mess is not even a Catholic Mass. Therefore, to kneel at any point would be the Mortal Sin of Sacrilege against the First Commandment of God: the worship of creatures.
The clueless Neocon Newchurchers and the pseudo-traditionalists are criticizing Newchurch's latest move to "modernize" the invalid Protestant-Masonic-Pagan Mess. Newchurch bishops and superiors of Newchurch religious orders have joined to pressure Newchurchers not to kneel at the "consecration" or to genuflect at their reception of the Ordo cookie and Kool-Aid. Newbishops are moving to forbid kneeling outright. Kneelers have already been removed from many Novus Ordo temples to prohibit physically any kneeling at Mess, so the clueless Extraordinarians can't kneel either!
The heretical Modernists fabricating the Novus Ordo "liturgy" tricked the Neocons and pseudo-traditionalists. Hidden in the Novus Ordo Missal is an clause in #43: "Unless impeded by lack of space, density of crowd, or other reasonable cause, they [the Newchurchers] should kneel down for the consecration [sic]." All the Modernist Newpopes and Newbishops had to do was to declare that, for reasonable cause, Newchurchers are forbidden to kneel down. True Catholics, once again Almighty God has ironically thwarted the heresy of the Newchurch of the New Order. By allowing Modernist Newpopes and Newbishops to forbid kneeling at the Novus Ordo Mess, he has saved them from one Mortal Sin of Sacrilege. But not another. Their attendance at New Order temples at which unordained presbyters simulate the New Order's "Ordinary" or "Extraordinary" Mess -- it makes no difference--, constitutes in itself is an objective Mortal Sin -- one of the worst. Their only salvation will be if they can prove that they were as ignorant as "worms" (Exodus 16:20).

I am a baptized Catholic. Catholic church services always take place when I work, so I miss church. A lot of my friends are in either an inter-denominational church or a Pentecostal church. Would I be allowed to attend regularly either of these churches because they fit around my work schedule better?

Absolutely not! Your question would have been unimaginable fifty years ago, even perhaps thirty years ago. Your question only goes to show how deeply the poison of the Modernist Vatican II Anti-council has permeated the members of the New Order sect, particularly its false doctrine of "Oecumenism," which is just a modernized term for condemned Syncretism, or Indifferentism: "All gods are the same," "All religions are equal," "We all worship the same god."
All Protestant sects are heretical, and it would be Mortally against the First Commandment of God to substitute the worship of "a strange God" for true Catholic worship. We assume that you are not really a Catholic, but a Newchurcher, who has never actually worshipped at a true Mass and has never received any Sacramental grace since your baptism. You probably have never been taught the Catholic Faith, so you remain, perhaps not through your own fault, ignorant and clueless.
You need immediately to undertake a programme of basic education in the Catholic Faith because you obviously have never received one. For that, you need to contact your nearest traditional Catholic priest from the sites listed as "Recommended" in the Official Traditional Catholic Directory.
As a former member of the Neo-SSPX, I was astonished when I discovered that one of Bernie Fellay's top officials was pushing a service in the vulgar tongues as early as 2006. Patrice Laroche was, in fact, one of the priest-presbyters whom Fellay selected to negotiate possible terms for a sellout of the Neo-SSPX to the New Order sect. For some eighteen months in 2009-2011, these abortive "negotiations" on how the Neo-SSPX could accept the Modernist Vatican II Anti-council continued.
Laroche, under Fellay's orders, in 2006 sent out a cover letter in French to Novus Ordo presbyters -- who, remember, have never been ordained as priests and have no power whatsoever to offer a valid Catholic Mass -- accompanying a DVD of the half New Order "Mess of 1962." In the letter Laroche made the anti-Catholic, even heretical, statement that this Mess "can also be celebrated in the vulgar tongues." The Mass that I was taught by our priests was much more traditional than the "Mess of 1962," aka erroneously as the "Extraordinary Mess," where, for instance, if there was a Double Feast of the First Class on a Sunday, then a Commemoration of the Sunday was made at the Mass of the Feast, and the Missal was moved back to the Gospel side at the end of the Mass for the priest to say the superseded Gospel of the Sunday. But already by 1963, the changes leading to the full-blown, invalid New Order service of 1969 were already happening. Here is a short and approximate account of when they happened in my parish:
Some years ago I was shown a book that showed Paul VI-Montini in the 1930s saying Mass for the Boy Scouts in Italy in a field facing the congregation. In the same book were pictures of various altars in churches in Europe between the 1930s and 1950s with altars and High Mass candlesticks similar to the New Order stuff. I have also seen a 1965 photograph with the altar facing the congregation in the chapel in the then Dominican priory in Winona, Minnesota, in the USA.
John Heenan, the Cardinal Primate of England & Wales at the time, was once asked why the changes were not introduced at once. He replied that if they had been, "Catholics would have realized that a revolution was going on." Given what cowards the "Catholic" laity and clergy were at that time and up to this present time, we have to question seriously whether, even if the invaliding changes were introduced all at once in 1964 (and we know that they were all ready to go by that time), the result would have been any different. If the 12,000,000 Martyrs of the early Christian centuries had been as cowardly in the face of the pagan Roman government as modern Catholics are, there would have been no Catholic Church at all!
Immediately after the Anti-council, Cardinal Heenan, though he did a little more that most high Newchurch clergy at the time, essentially knuckled under to the New Order. He sought an "indult" in 1967 for parts of England and Wales to use the "modernized," but not yet quite Novus Ordo, missal "on an occasional basis."
What this meant was that the invalid New Order Protestant-Masonic-Pagan service of 1969 was used as the norm throughout England and Wales, what Benedict-Ratzinger was in 2007 to proclaim as the "Ordinary Mess" of Newchurch. In 1971 Heenan sought a broader indult for England & Wales to use the half Novus Ordo "Mess of 1962," as a response to the "Agatha Christie" petition, named from its principal signer, a well-known mystery novelist in England. As to the so-called "signing" of the Vatican II documents, Archbishop Lefebvre himself, when asked, answered that point directly as follows:
The approving or refusing of documents was obviously carried out for each Council document on its own. The vote was secret, performed on individual cards and done with a special pencil that made possible the electronic counting of votes. The cards were picked up by the secretaries from the hand of each Bishop voting. The large sheets that circulated from hand to hand among the Council Fathers, and where each one put his signature, had no meaning for or against any of the documents, but merely signified our presence at that voting session for the documents. One would truly have to take the Council Fathers who voted against the text for weather-cocks turning with the wind, when one gives people to understand that with their signatures on the sheet they approved of what they had disapproved of half an hour beforehand in the vote itself!
Thus, the so-called "signing" did not signify approval of the documents, but merely the signatory's presence for the casting of his secret ballot. Voters in civil elections use the same process when they present themselves at the polling place and sign the voter roll that they have cast a ballot, without indicating in any way how they cast their ballot.
As to whether Archbishop Lefebvre ever celebrated the Novus Ordo service, the timing of its implementation does not permit it. The Novus Ordo service was not even to be officially published for use until November 30, 1969, according to Paul VI-Montini's April 3, 1969, Apostolic Constitution Missale Romanum. Because of Cardinal Ottaviani's intervention of September 26, 1969, the Novus Ordo was recalled and not reissued for use until late 1970. On June 6, 1969, Archbishop Lefebvre had already founded the Society of St. Pius X, which rejected the Novus Ordo. One of the carver's fellow Newjesuits and friends said that the carver intended the "Communist crucifix" to represent Newchurch's "permanent dialogue" with Communism. Bergoglio had proceeded to dedicate the matching pendant that he received with the same image of the hammer-and-sickle crucifix and dedicated it to the Virgin of Copacabana, Patroness of Bolivia. Later, on the plane home, he told the press: "For me, it was not an offense." As a result, the scandal has spread around the world, with Newchurchers, and others, denouncing the "Unholy Father" for embracing Marxism and calling Marxists "some of his best friends."
Francis-Bergoglio on his Newpapal junket also became involved in hypocrisy about his anti-capitalism denunciations. Because of the blasphemous and sacrilegious nature of the outdoor "New Messes" that Bergoglio stages, instead of traditionally using cathedrals, he apparently did not have a sacristy available to vest for his Mess at Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on July 10, 2015. So, he arranged sacrilegiously to use a Burger King fast-food restaurant!
Burger King was quick to take capitalistic advantage of the incident -- which Beroglio asked for -- and wasted no time in letting the world know of Bergoglio's patronage of BK. Even before the sacrilegious, blasphemous, and invalid Newpapal Mess had ended, the restaurant put out publicity thanking Bergoglio "for choosing the BK restaurant as your sacristy." It also included an advertisement-like image showing Bergoglio beneath a Burger King logo and the words: "There are visits that don't just bring joy to your spirit, but also feed it." You have to realize that Newchurchers react in this way because they know in their hearts that they are not Catholic. You are hitting a nerve and pricking their conscience. Try as they might, they cannot ignore what you are telling them. Naturally, they are too embarrassed to admit this fact to you. And why would you expect Newchurchers to know the Catholic Faith? They are not Catholics; they are members of the anti-Catholic New Order sect, which deliberately keeps them in the dark to control them as, to use Joseph Stalin's term, "useful idiots."
Newchurchers view themselves, as you discovered, not as Catholics and even Christians, but essentially as members of a social club. They put up with an invalid "service," which they know in their hearts not to be Catholic, so as to be able after the service to prattle on while they are stuffing their mouths full of greasy donuts, which are as deleterious to their bodies as the New Order is to their souls. They are not Catholics; they are not even Christians. Even they view themselves essentially as members of a gang, the Novus Ordo gang.
Traditional Catholics should study well and learn from the life of St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine. How do you think that St. Monica felt when her son would not listen to her, remained in a pagan sect, fornicated, and fathered a bastard? She prayed and prayed and prayed for many years, even followed him around. But she never despaired; she never gave up. And how did God reward her prayers: not only by giving her son the grace of conversion, but allowing him to become the Church's greatest theologian.
As Scripture teaches us, when we take one step toward God, God rewards us a hundredfold. It may not be immediate; it may not even be in our own lifetime, but that is unimportant. The true Church's outlook is sub specie aeternitatis.
Remember what the Blessed Virgin is supposed to have told St. Bernadette of Lourdes: "I cannot promise you happiness in this life, but only in the next." Our fight to keep the Faith, as St. Paul describes it, is not supposed to be easy. It is not easy to win the crown of salvation any more than it is to win an earthly crown. It is through our own effort and sacrifices that we show our love for God. Yet these are only a very small reflection of the ultimate sacrifice that the Son of God made for us, suffering for us on that horrible cross.
The "New Mass" of 1969 (which is not valid, or even a Mass) and the "New Sacraments" (most of which are invalid) were fabricated by the Freemason presbyter Hannibal Bugnini and his Committee of Six Protestant Ministers in response to the Modernist Vatican II Anti-council (1962-1965), using primarily Anglican/Episcopalian models, according to Bugnini's own pompous book of 930 pages, La Riforma Liturgica (1948-1975).
The Liberalist/Modernist Protestant state church of England, set up by Henry VIII, then farmed out to the British Colonies, and imported into the United States as the Protestant Episcopalian Church, is projected to disappear completely by 2033, just 17 years from now, according to the British Attitudes Study. The schismatic Anglican/Episcopalian Church once dominated Anglo-American religious life. In the 20th/21st century, it went liberalist and adopted several anti-Biblical "doctrines": divorce, abortion, contraception, "gay" bishops, priestesses/bishoppesses, and, most recently, "gay marriage."
And it has all happened in almost the blink of an eye. It is the Liberalist/Modernist swerve of the last thirty years that is killing off the Anglican/Episcopalian Church, according to the study. Before priestesses/bishoppesses were introduced in direct violation of Christian Tradition, the number of Anglican/Episcopalians stood at 40 per cent of the population (1983). Afterward, in just 20 years (2004), the percentage fell to 29 per cent. After blessing of "gay unions" was introduced, the percentage fell again (2014), to just 17 per cent. It has gone down another 4 per cent since then.
At the present rate of decline, the Anglican/Episcopalian Church will disappear completely in England by 2033, and outside of England by 2067. The sect will be wiped out in just half of a generation. "Parish churches everywhere will have been adapted for secular use, demolished, or abandoned. The situation isn't any better in France, once called the "Daughter of the Church" for her Catholicity. Newdiocesan installations announced for 2015 have fallen, since just the last year, from 82 to 68, the lowest number in fifteen years. One Newbishop characterized the reality of the sinking Newchurch of the New Order: "I ordain one presbyter per year, while I bury twelve." Many French Newbishops have not installed a presbyter in ten years. (Newchurch stopped "ordaining priests" in 1969, when the Protestantized New Ordinal went into effect.
True Catholics, the Newchurch of the New Order, currently headed by the Marxist Newpope Francis-Bergoglio, is facing a similar precipitous decline. The novelty of the "New Mess" in the vulgar tongues and profane "Kumbaya" music has worn off. Attendance at the "New Mess" is documented as down below 10 per cent of Newchurchers, most of whom can't even be bothered to go to a Novus Ordo church at Christmas and Easter. Many Newchurchers are quietly walking out of their local Novus Ordo temples, away from the Newpope who admits that he can't judge sodomy, one of the Four Sins that Cry out to Heaven for Retribution. He issues statements soft on abortion, contraception, and divorce/remarriage, while he condemns "traditionalists" as " doctrinaire, idealogue, rigid, ritualistic, rigorous, closed in the past, Pelagian, and Donatist."
But true Catholics are not listening to Bergoglio's nonsense. Traditional Latin Masses outside of the Newchurch structure are doing quite well, even increasing in number and population, with the ascendency of the Traditional Resistence.

Am I right to assume that the majority of Newchurchers, who have never known anything but the New Order service and "sacraments," are in a state of invincible (inculpable) ignorance, never having known that it necessary to question the validity of the New Order? The answer to this question depends upon whether their ignorance is really invincible, that is, whether it is in fact not possible for them to conquer their ignorance. Catholic moral theology teaches that doubts must be overcome. One cannot remain in ignorance and simply play the fool. A Catholic has an obligation to seek the truth. It is hard to believe that Newchurchers are so impenetrably ignorant when they hear around them the arguments against the Catholicity of the New Order and when God has furnished them so many means to find the truth: books, audio and video recordings, the internet, traditional Catholic Mass sites all over the world, etc.
God is the sole judge of the interior conscience of each man, as only He knows the degree of culpability of each soul. However, what you should be thinking about is how you yourself can reach out to these Newchurchers and convert them to the Catholic Faith. Remember the words of St. James (5:20/DVR), who teaches: "He must know that he who causeth a sinner to be converted from the error of his way, shall save his soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins."
All too many traditional Catholics hole up in some chapel somewhere, all self-centered, without reaching out to Newchurchers to share with them the gift of the true Faith, the true Mass, and the true Sacraments. It is as if some traditional Catholics want to keep these gifts only for themselves. Such stinginess is quite sinful and in direct contradiction to the teaching of Christ and His Apostles. We have a duty to reach out to others. It could be that some person's ignorance is vincible (conquerable) and that you yourself are God's chosen agent to conquer that person's ignorance, but you didn't use the God's grace to convert that soul. After all, it is not only Newchurchers who will answer to the judgment but also Traditional Catholics.
Pope Clement XIV got it right when he suppressed the Society of Jesus, the Jesuits, for 41 years (1773-1814) because of their incessant meddling into secular politics. The problem was that Pope Pius VII restored them. Around the time of the Modernist Vatican II Anti-council (1962-1965), the Newjesuits were at it again, taking up shotguns to kill those in the conservative governments in South America in the name of murderous Marxist "Liberation Theology." It is said that they went so far that Newpope Paul VI-Montini, a rabid Modernist and promulgator of every single one of Vatican II's Modernist documents and practices, refused to have any truck with the Newjesuits in Newvatican.
The Newjesuits, an intellectually prideful lot, even though they once did some good, particularly in scientific and Latin studies, are now on the anti-Catholic and immoral path again under the "Homophiliac" Newpope Francis-Bergoglio. Their Fordham University in New York, which, although they no longer administer it, still says that it "operates in the Jesuit tradition," saw the "gay-marriage" on June 27, 2015, of its male Theology Department Chairman to another man. Fordham University gave its full-throated support to Patrick Hornbeck and defended his purported "constitutional right" to enter into a sodomite "marriage." Because as yet Bergoglio hasn't "permitted" such "marriages," Hornbeck joined the heretics at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Manhattan. On July 2, 2015, the heretical Protestant Episcopalian sect voted to approve sodomite "marriages."
So now, through the sin of omission to stand up against blasphemy and crimes of gross immorality, Francis-Bergoglio and the Newjesuits are associated with a "marriage" of sodomy, Biblically one of the Four Sins that Cry out to Heaven for Retribution. When asked whether Fordham University was concerned about having a professor of theology whose conduct opposes the teaching of Newchurch about marriage, a spokesman for the university said that Hornbeck "has the right to get married [sic]" and wished Hornbeck and his "spouse" "a rich life filled with many blessings on the occasion of their wedding in the Episcopal Church." True Catholics, in 2014 Hornbeck participated in a symposium at Fordham University titled "Who Am I to Judge? How Pope Francis Is Changing the Church," named after Francis-Bergoglio's immoral and anti-Catholic statement that he cannot judge sodomy. if you hesitated in any particular about Francis-Bergoglio and his homophiliac/paedophiliac Newchurch of the New Order, you should no longer have a shadow of a doubt that he and his Newchurch of the New Order must be rejected and, to use the vivid Biblical phrase, vomit them out of your mouth.
The Newpope Francis-Bergoglio now wants to spit on 2,000 years of Catholic practice by essentially limiting the term of the Newpopes. The secularist Newpope wants to turn the Newpapacy into some kind of political election event. On July 3, 2015, addressing not Newchurchers, but a syncretistic "interfaith rally" of the kind previously condemned by the popes, Bergoglio claimed that if the Church, having "leaders for life," would risk being "a country under a dictatorship." So, for Francis-Bergoglio, the Church that God founded has been a "dictatorship" for 2,000 years. It is clear that Bergoglio is not Catholic, does not understand the Church that Christ founded, and has no respect for Sacred Tradition binding the Church from the Apostles.
Since St. Peter, true popes have served for life. In the 2,000-year history of the Church, the exceptions to this practice were very few and far between, and always in response to exceptional circumstances. Even JPII-Wojtyla, who couldn't even enunciate clearly the 25-word canonical formula of Novus Ordo con-anization for Padre Pio and who was visibly a basket-case from Parkinson's Disease, perhaps even to the point where his actions were invalid because he was non compos mentis, hung on until the bitter end. Benedict-Ratzinger, however, abdicated as Newpope after not even eight years, the first in 600 years, after he was threatened with international exposure for his personal involvement in suborning paedophilia, and probably even worse.
What is behind Bergoglio's anti-Catholic madness? Certainly the desire to turn what is left of his Newchurch into a secular political organization. His actions to date are essentially all oriented to secular affairs, not to Christ and the Church that He founded. Moreover, Francis-Beroglio's first encyclical letter, as yet a provisional document still not issued in its official Latin form, did not treat serious topics of the Catholic religion, but the secular strawman of unproven "global warming." True Catholics, there is undoubtedly more to Francis-Bergoglio's madness than meets the eye. Bergoglio himself has indicated on at least three occasions, previously reported in these Daily Commentaries, that he doesn't like being Newpope. He doesn't like Newrome. He doesn't like most of the Newchurch officials with whom he has to deal. Moreover, Bergoglio says that he is sick to death, and will be out -- or dead -- in another two years.
It couldn't happen to a more deserving Unholy Father. The "Who Am I to Judge 'Gays'?" Newpope Francis-Bergoglio is about to get a Lesbian statue dropped on his immoral self. Just as he prepares to make his September 22-27, 2015, political junket to the United States, the statue of the friar that he is supposed to Novus Ordo con-anize on that trip, the Franciscan friar Junipero Serra, who founded the 21 California Missions, is on the point of being replaced from Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., and replaced with a statue to a Lesbian heroine. A homosexual State Senator introduced a resolution in the California Senate to replace the statue of Padre Serra, currently one of California's two allotted statues in the U.S. Capitol building's Statuary Hall, with one of Lesbian American astronautess Sally Ride. The statue, sculpted by Ettore Cadorin, depicts Serra holding a cross and looking heavenward. The resolution to replace the statue had already passed the California Senate on April 13, 2015, and was being debated on the floor of California's lower house, the State Assembly.
But Bergoglio's operatives, afraid that the public debate on the statue was embarrassing the Marxist Newpope Francis-Bergoglio ahead of his political junket to the United States in September 2015, swung into action and strongarmed Senator Richardo Lara on July 2, 2015, to postpone his resolution temporarily. Francis-Bergoglio Newchurch is rife not only with a sex-crime holocaust against children by its Newclergy but also financial fraud and embezzlement. It is remarkable that by this time anyone believes a word that Bergoglio or his Newchurch says. And now Bergoglio & Co. will have to pay a fine of over 5,000,000 U.S. dollars for attempting to defraud the Norwegian government by overstating by 722 per cent the number of its members to steal that amount from the Norwegian government and people.
On July 1, 2015, the Norwegian government charged Francis-Bergoglio's Newchurch and Bergoglio's partner in fraud, Oslo's Newbishop Bernt Eidsvig, with "fraudulent practices," to wit, fraudulently claiming as Newchurch members 56,500 actual nonmembers, 86 per cent of its claimed membership! In Norway, as in many European countries, churches are paid subsidies from the government based on their membership amounts. Newchurch was claiming 722 per cent more members than it had in order to steal 6,000,000 dollars in the scam!
Newchurch claimed to register 65,500 new members between 2010 and 2014, but it turned out that 56,500 of that total, or more than four out of five, were not Newchurch members at all. The government charged that Newchurch had added Polish and Spanish names out of the Oslo phonebook to "pad" its rolls. These people had no affiliation to Newchurch and had not given their consent to be listed as members. Newchurch's offices were raided in February 2015 on suspicion of "aggravated fraud." Nor is this the first time that Bergoglio and his fellow bunko Newbishops have tried to pull such a scam. Germany and other countries have investigated Newchurch for the same type of fraud. True Catholics, whenever you hear Newchurch claim that there are over 1,000,000,000 Newchurchers in the world, don't you believe it! If you apply the percentage of the scam in Norway to this figure, the true number of Newchurchers would come closer to 140,000,000. Compare that to U.S. News & World Report's estimate of 1,000,000 traditional Catholics in the United States alone, and we're not that far behind, with Newchurch losing several percentage points each and every year, as its members continue to desert it in droves.

Your mother is absolutely right. That New Order bishop is obviously not Catholic. One wonders, however, why your mother would even have approached such a "bishop" in the first place.
A Catholic would commit a grave sin by his presence at the sacrilege of a "gay wedding," which is, in fact, no "wedding" at all. Any Catholic attending such a farce would be giving the worst kind of scandal to others by his presence.
No "bishop" has any authority to give anyone permission to sin. Any authority that a bishop might have stops where God's law begins. Newchurch bishops, who have no legitimate authority, now think that they are above God and can make up their own "commandments" contrary to God's whenever they feel like it, ad nutum episcopi. They defer neither to Sacred Scripture or Sacred Tradition. They are their own law. Of course, none of this is Catholic, but a parody of Catholicism.
Situations like this are going to come up much more frequently in the United States, now that its Supreme Court has determined that "gay marriage" is a "constitutional right." Purposed Constitutional rights, however, do not take precedence over God's law. Newchurch bishops, not to speak of Newpope Francis-Bergoglio, have been wimps at best on this subject, and often take the path of least political resistance rather than stand up for God's law. True Catholics like your mother need to understand that they must entirely avoid Newchurch clergy, who are objectively, if not subjectively, sacrilegious, blasphemous, schismatic, and heretical. Association with such Newclergy put one's own Catholic Faith in jeopardy, and they should be treated just as you would a Protestant minister or "bishop" -- which is, in essence, what Newchurch clergy are.
He wanted to at his October 2014 Extraordinary Synod on the Family, but was thwarted there. But he is not giving up. The "Who Am I to Judge Gays'?" Reading Francis-Bergoglio's clear homophiliac signals, St. Francis Xavier Church in New York, New York, draped its Novus Ordo dinner table steps with the notorious "gay" rainbow flag in recognition of "Gay Pride Weekend," June 28-29, 2015. The immoral Newcardinal Timothy "Laughing Cow" Dolan has taken no action against this Novus Ordo temple. In fact, Dolan has allowed this temple to be established as a bastion for "gay" Newchurchers (apparently, that is no longer a contradiction in terms for Bergoglio's New Order sect). The temple has become a den for "gays" and lesbians (who don't like to be lumped in with "gay" men), as well as pagan Zen practitioners.
Dolan also allows the church's Newpastor to get away with calling in the Newparish bulletin for Newchurch to "rethink its teachings on homosexuality." Sorry, Newpastor, God sets the rules, not Newchurch! Deus dixit; causa finita est. Yet Dolan, who poses as a "Catholic" -- or at least Newchurch -- bishop has taken no action. Nor has his principal, Bergoglio. In fact, Dolan has in the past applauded the church's "LGBT" group during the (invalid) Novus Ordo service there.
True Catholics, anyone thinking that Francis-Bergoglio's New Order sect isn't rife with immoral homophilia is deluding himself. Bergoglio is turning out to be more immoral than the "Bad Pope" Alexander VI-Borgia. At least Alexander, whose personal life was a moral cesspool, taught completely orthodox Catholic doctrine -- a standard that the Marxist Newpope Bergoglio has signally failed to meet.
Bernie Fellay, Superior-Dictator of the Neo-Society of St. Pius X, let two howling cats out of the bag in one of those staged "interviews" by his own employees, this one in June 2015.
Fellay admitted that he had submitted to Newchurch's "inspection" of his Neo-SSPX seminaries by a New Order cardinal (Walter Brandmuller) and a New Order bishop (Athanasius Schneider). Why Fellay would permit such an invasion into his NSSPX seminaries must be explained his desire to "pass muster" with the Newchurch of the New Order, in order to facilitate his Neo-SSPX joining it and coming under its thumb -- a goal from which he has never deviated, probably because he is drooling to named the official dictator of the Neo-SSPX by Newchurch. Moreover, he has forgotten that in 1970, Newchurch played the same "inspection" game with Archbishop Lefebvre, which resulted in Newchurch's suspending the SSPX seminary at Econe, Switzerland. But Fellay, like the followers of the Vatican II Anti-council, suppresses history in favor of Modernist propaganda.
But at the same time Fellay also admits that his greatest fear is the "risk of separation" of yet more priests from his Neo-SSPX, which he described as "serious." He referred specifically to the Traditional Resistance, a loose collaboration of hundreds of independent priests, about one hundred of whom abandoned Fellay when he tried to sell out Archbishop Lefebvre's originally-traditional SSPX to the Newchurch of the New Order. These hundreds of independent traditional priests look to the SSPX's former senior bishop, Richard Williamson, and now to Bishop Jean-Michel Faure as well for counsel and guidance.
True Catholics, Fellay is the same leopard who cannot change his spots. He remains committed to selling out Archbishop Lefebvre's originally-traditional SSPX to the Newchurch of the New Order. But he rightly fears that more of his clergy and laity will see the truth and leave him because of his Newchurch ambitions. And he has reason to fear: the Traditional Resistance has been making leaps and bounds of late in getting its traditional Catholic -- and anti-Fellay -- message across around the world.
A group of distinguished United States scientists from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have directly taken on Francis-Bergoglio's "global warming" encyclical letter released June 18, 2015, as yet to be released in its official Latin form, but as yet only in revisable vulgar-tongued versions. The NASA scientists say that Bergoglio is not to to be believed. This is essentially the first time that a distinguished group of scientists with specific experience in climatological science has spoken out against the false science that underpins Bergoglio's unscientific "global warming" crusade.
These distinguished scientists are veterans of the NASA Apollo program that landed astronauts on the moon and returned them safely during the decade of the 1960s. They have written Bergoglio that "there is no convincing evidence that the planet is in a 'climate crisis'" and that his false propaganda relies upon "untested computer models rather than available physical data." The climate scientists also write to Bergoglio: "There is no compelling scientific or humanitarian reason for immediate enactment of world-wide carbon dioxide emission controls."
Rejecting the idea of carbon dioxide as a pollutant that should be regulated, the NASA scientists wrote: "We know that carbon dioxide is a very special colorless, odorless, and non-polluting gas designed by our Creator to be an essential chemical compound for sustaining all plant, animal, and human life." Yes, it is acceptable. Several early Catholic Saints served in the Roman army. Perhaps the best known is St. Martin of Tours (ca. 315-397), one of the Church's most important Saints, who was an officer in the Roman army, perhaps even in the bodyguard of the Roman emperor himself.
It was, in fact, while Martin was a soldier in the Roman army and stationed in Gaul, now called France, that one of the most well-known episodes in the life of any Saint is told of St. Martin. On a bitterly cold night in a very hard winter, Martin met at the gate of the city a poor man, almost naked, trembling and shaking with the cold. Martin, who was then an officer in the imperial Roman army, had nothing with him but his weapons and his purple-and-white cloak, which was the hallmark of an imperial officer. So, drawing his sword, he cut his cloak into two pieces, gave one to the beggar, and retained the other half so that he would still be in the regulation Roman military uniform. That night Martin in his sleep saw Christ, surrounded with shining glory and dressed in that half of the garment which he had given away, and heard Him say: "Martin, yet a catechumen, has covered me with this garment. I was naked, and you clothed me.... Inasmuch as you did it to the least of these little ones, you did it to me."
But God had more in store for this great Saint. During the dark days of the fourth century when, St. Jerome tells us, 80 per cent of the bishops and even several popes became heretics and persecuted the orthodox Catholics of the time, Martin became a disciple of St. Hilary in Poitiers. In 365, when Hilary was exiled by the heretics in power, Martin left Gaul, three-quarters of which had been taken over by the Arian heresy.
In Tours, France, St. Martin was acclaimed by the people as their bishop. It is said that Martin had tried to run away and hide in a flock of geese, because he felt that he would be no good at being in charge of such an important section of the Church. But the geese cackled, giving him away, and his goose, as we now say, was cooked. To this day, cooked goose is the traditional fare in Germany on the Saint's feastday, November 11, and we still use the expression: "his goose is cooked."
St. Martin suffered a good deal at the hands of the ecclesiastical authorities. Because bishops, especially those close to the political powers, were often -- then as now -- tempted to accommodate Catholic teaching to the passing secular winds of the time, Martin kept himself independent of the other bishops of the time. He often simply ignored them. In the eyes of the Church, the weak and heretical bishops passed away, unremembered, while St. Martin is remembered as a central figure in laying the foundations of Catholic France.
St. Martin, Roman soldier, bishop, and defender of the Faith against heresy within the Catholic hierarchy, was the first Saint to be granted official recognition without being a martyr, as his courageous faith in the face of the heretical bishops and popes of his time made him equal in the eyes of his contemporaries to those who were killed for their Catholicism. His courage in standing fast to the orthodox Catholic Faith should be a particularly powerful example to the clergy and laity of our own time.
