Dear TRADITIO Fathers:
The traditional Catholic calendar says that Sunday, December 26, is supposed to be the Feast of St. Stephen, Proto-martyr, celebrated in red vestments. But when I happened to check out a church of the Society of St. Pius X that day, I was surprised to find a Mass going on in white vestments. I don't know what Mass they were doing. The day after, I checked out the church again, and found that the Mass of the Holy Innocents was being done in red vestments like the Novus Ordo instead of in the traditional violet vestments. What gives? Has the SSPX gone Novus Ordo already?
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
Yes, to some extent the SSPX already has gone Novus Ordo. Although the SSPX founder, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, had serious doubts about the "Mess of 1962" (now the "Motu" Mess) and refused to participate in several of its worst features, his successor, Bernie Fellay, has embraced the totality without reservations. That is why you are seeing the SSPX, and the Motarians, deviating from the Traditional Latin Mass. The "Mess of 1962" is not the Traditional Latin Mass. It is a half Novus Ordo, concocted by the same Freemason presbyter, Hannibal Bugnini, who fabricated the invalid Novus Ordo service of 1962.
The SSPX follows the Half Novus Ordo "Mess of 1962," which demoted the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Saints by essentially purging their pride of place from the 1962 calendar. That is why St. Stephen was suppressed last Sunday, and the red vestments of his martyrdom were disposed of. The Feast of the Holy Innocents has traditionally been celebrated in violet vestments. Pope Innocent III (1198-1216) recorded that color even in his day. In the Half Novus Ordo of 1962, the feast was stipped of its penitential aspect. Newchurch doesn't want penance. After all, it has abandoned the Sacrament of Penance. Newchurchers won't even go to its phony Rite of Reconciliation. Newchurch tells you: eat meat on Friday; gorge during Lent. Penance: that's for traditional Catholics, not us!
We appreciate the TRADITIO Network making available to us the Official Traditional Catholic Directory, now in its sixteenth annual edition. We can't tell you how helpful this complete listing of Traditional Latin Masses to attend around North America (and which ones to avoid, like the SSPX and diocesan "Motu" ones) has been to us. In addition to the Mass listings, we have had frequent reference to the other traditional Catholic information contained this directory, like the lists of traditional Catholic periodicals, suppliers, organizations, seminaries, religious orders, lay societies, retreats, and schooling. Others put out partial lists, like only SSPX services or only services approved by the Novus Ordo sect. But these are worthless to us as traditional Catholics.
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
We are indeed grateful to the National Registry of Traditional Latin Masses, which has provided to TRADITIO readers the complete Official Traditional Catholic Directory, Listing All Traditional Latin Masses and Traditional Resources for North America, now for sixteen years now. The folks at the National Registry are bedrock traditional Catholics, who were fighting for the fully Traditional Latin Mass, not the clueless "Motu" crowd that doesn't know a Novus Ordo "Latin Mess" from a fully Traditional Latin Mass! For access to the Directory, click on the link at the top of this page.
John Kennedy, the first U.S. Catholic president, frequently went to Mass in public. This reality has even been carried into the popular media. The film Thirteen Days (2000), an excellent dramatization of the thirteen days of the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962, shows a scene at the height of that crisis in which John, Jackie, and the children attend Mass, together with the Kenneth O'Donnell Family, and other members of the Kennedy administration, as the small parish choir sings Anton Bruckner's motet, Virga Jesse Florit -- in Latin, of course. Frequently, the President and Mrs. Kennedy would attend Mass at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, D.C., taking the same route there as the President's funeral took on that sad Monday, November 25, 2010, for his Requiem Mass.
On December 26, 2010, Barack Obama condescended to darkened the door of a church, in this case St. Michael's military chapel on the Marine Corps base at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Even the secular press admitted that Obama's appearance in this church of sorts was a "rare" event. To be sure, Obama frequently flies, at government expense, to the Kaneohe Bay base, but he doesn't go to services there. He prefers to spend the Lord's Day playing golf and exercising in the gym there.
Though Obama claims to be a Protestant, one-fifth of the American people, according to an August 2010 Pew Research Center study, think that in fact he is a Mohammedan. He and his family rarely attend church services. He claims that his appearance at church would be disruptive to the rest of the congregation. Such specious concerns didn't stop John Kennedy, who was heads above Obama in recognition and popularity. Americans knew without a doubt that President Kennedy professed the Catholic religion. Many American now don't seem to know just what Obama really is. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Interesting, isn't it, how politicians play Catholic at election-time to get Newchurchers' votes, but when it comes to their own voting in congresses and parliaments, they vote like pagans? And, of course, the "establishment" Newchurch of the New Order and its Newpope Benedict-Ratzinger say nothing about this hypocrisy.
When a vote was called in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives in the week before Christmas 2010, most Newchurchers, who do not hesitate falsely to call themselves "Catholic" to get votes at elections, voted to admit open sodomy into the U.S. military. Of the 160 "Catholics" serving in the current US Congress (135 in the House of Representatives, 25 in the Senate), 117 voted to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that had barred homosexuals from serving openly in the military.
Thus 73 per cent of the "Catholics," that is, Newchurchers, in the U.S. Congress approved the new policy -- eagerly signed into law by Barack Obama -- to allow practicing homosexuals to enlist in the armed services. Fewer than 25 per cent of the Newchurch legislators, a total of 39, voted to retain the ban. Four Newchurch legislators did not cast a ballot on the measure.
Good Catholics, more than anything, votes like this -- similar to the one in the Mexican parliament approving abortion on the very eve of Benedict-Ratzinger's papal junket there in May 2007 -- demonstrate that the Newchurch of the New Order is reluctant and even impotent to enforce even the most basic moral code upon his members. That shouldn't surprise us, since Newchurch can't even enforce the most basic moral code upon its own criminal clergy!
An Anglican bishop of London, Peter Wheatley, has told three nuns who wanted to go Novus Ordo to hand over their habits and get out of the nunnery, as the row caused by Benedict-Ratzinger with his Motu Proprio Anglicanorum coetibus of November 4, 2009, becomes increasingly hostile. The nuns have been told to leave the Priory of Our Lady of Walsingham "as soon as possible."
As has been the case with the "other" Motu Proprio, Summorum pontificum, of July 7, 2007, imposing on pseudo-traditional Newchurchers the Half Novus Ordo of 1962+, the Motu Proprio on the Anglicans has blown up in Benedict-Ratzinger's face. In addition, it has ripped his beloved Vatican II false oecumenism asunder and has rent his friendship with his once bosom buddy, Rowan Williams, the Anglican archbishop of Canterbury.
The Motu didn't even achieve Benedict-Ratzinger's desired result of converting to the Novus Ordo disaffected Anglican "traditionalists." The three largest traditionalist groups, which had originally indicated their desire to convert to the Novus Ordo, have had second thoughts and have turned their back on Newpope's ploy. It seems that everything Benedict-Ratzinger touches these days turns to offal. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the U.K. Telegraph.]
On December 21, 2010, the Newchurch Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith tried to make Benedict-Ratzinger out as the victim of his own confused statement on the prophylactics commonly known as "condoms." He was "misunderstood and misrepresented," says the Congregation. Poor Newpope! From the incompetent way in which he released his statement, one can conclude that the old teacher wasn't a very good one. He issued the statement casually as part of an interview published in a recent book by a German journalist. Benedict-Ratzinger expressed his point confusingly -- as the perplexed comments around the world clearly show. Moreover, he didn't even seem to be able to get the gender of "prostitute" right in his statement.
The Congregation's statement was certainly too little and too late, almost four weeks after Newchurchers and the world press descended upon Newvatican to get a clear statement. After both Newpope and his press secretary, Federico Lombardi, admitted that the statement does represent a new way of thinking about sodomy, now the Congregation's statement claims that the statement does not represent a change in Newchurch's teaching. After this latest mixup from Newvatican, one has to ask the question again: Who's on first?
Benedict-Ratzinger must be completely clueless in religious affairs if he didn't realize that any apparent softening of doctrine on sexual immorality and the use of prophylactics would be interpreted by Newchurchers and the world at large in the broadest possible manner. And that's just what happened. Readers of Benedict-Ratzinger's statement in the interview quite readily concluded that he considered the use of a condom as "the lesser of two evils." If he didn't mean that, he should have said so clearly.
In fact, Benedict-Ratzinger's statement is probably one of those quintessential Modernistic "nuanced" statements that is meant to be interpreted in different ways by different people, because Modernists have a subjective view of morality. For Modernists like Benedict-Ratzinger, truth is not objective, as traditional Thomistic Catholic morality teaches, but depends subjectively upon the "eye of the beholder." It is only when the Modernist leader is caught with his cassock down that he tries to do damage control, claiming that he was "misunderstood and misrepresented," when the ambiguity of the original statement was intentional from the beginning.
Newpope's remarks have been mired in confusion ever since they were first published as excerpts in his papal newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, on November 20, 2010. The Congregation's December 21, 2010, statement was the third official "clarification" since then -- each subsequent "clarification" needing its own "clarification." At one point, Benedict-Ratzinger's press secretary admitted to the world press that he didn't really know what Newpope meant! [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
As usual, Neocon Newchurchers, and even some pseudo-traditional periodicals, have tried to contort Benedict-Ratzinger's statement to make it sound traditional. It isn't. It's Modernist to the core. Benedict-Ratzinger was a Modernist at Vatican II and remains one. His bosom buddy, whom he invites every year to his summer castle, is the notorious Hans Kung, his partner at Vatican II, whose license to teach theology was revoked by Paul VI because his opinions reeked with the odor of heresy. Then he proceeded to join the Freemasons and excommunicated himself.
Good Catholics, it is pretty clear what is going on here. JPII tried the same Modernist technique in the early 1990s on the issue of capital punishment. He issued as a trial balloon a false teaching rejecting traditional Catholic theology, as part of the pre-official Catechism of the [New Order] Catholic Church. Then, when a outcry against the false teaching arose, he pulled back in the final version of the Catechism. Benedict-Ratzinger is laying the groundwork here for a change in attitude toward sexual immorality, and particularly sodomy. Given his now well-documented support for sodomists among his Newchurch clergy against their child-victims, that interpretation fits like a glove!
German Novus Ordo churches already have a hard time filling pews, so the latest news is not good. Tens of thousands of German Newchurchers have cancelled their Novus Ordo membership in 2010 -- considerably more than in 2009 -- taking their automatic tax donations with them. Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust and the immoral cover-up of the vilest crimes by Benedict-Ratzinger and his Newbishops have motivated many Newchurch-leavers. Many Newchurchers say that steps to prevent future clergy sex crimes against children have been much too slow and that Newchurch leaders are still actively covering up the crimes. Thus, they are voting with their feet.
Recent studies by the Frankfurter Rundschau daily and the DPA news agency concur that the country's Novus Ordo churches have lost considerably more members in 2010 than in recent years. Close to Benedict-Ratzinger's boyhood home, the Bavarian Newdiocese of Augsburg, where Bishop Walter Mixa was forced to resign in May 2010 when charged with child rape and embezzlement, recorded some of the worst figures. As of mid December 2010, 63 per cent more Newchurchers left than in 2009. In the southwestern Rottenburg-Stuttgart Newdiocese, 71 per cent more Newchurchers left than in 2009. Trier, Wuerzburg, Osnabrueck, and Bamberg all recorded significant increases in departures in 2010, with many disgruntled Newchurchers apparently seeking new homes with other Christian sects. As of December 17, 2010, the SSPX's dictatorial Superior General, Bernie Fellay, has forced the SSPX's senior bishop, Richard Williamson, to fire his firebrand attorney, Wolfram Nahrath, who was going to defend Williamson vigorously. Fellay has made it clear that he does not wish Williamson's appeal to succeed against a significant fine for stating a "politically-incorrect" opinion on a disputed matter of secular history. When Williamson fired his essentially Fellay-appointed do-nothing attorney, Mattias Lossman, who, in the opinion of court observers, botched Williamson's original case, and hired Nahrath, a firebrand of young attorney with connections to the German parliament, Fellay feared that Williamson might actually win his appeal.
Fellay, therefore, forced Williamson to fire Nahrath or be expelled from the SSPX. Even after Williamson, under pressure, agreed to do so, Fellay nevertheless the next day savaged his senior bishop. Of course, Fellay has no business telling Williamson whom to hire as his personal attorney in a secular matter. This is just another of Williamson's human rights, in addition to that of free speech, with which Fellay has immorally interfered.
And whom was Williamson forced to pick? A semi-retired, 72-year-old attorney named Norbert Wingerter, who no longer even works full time, but has cut his hours back to half. Now here's an idler that's not going to put up much of a fight for Williamson! Wingerter said: "Every accused party has the right to a lawyer whom he trusts," but he did not indicate the Williamson actually trusted him; nor has Williamson so indicated! The Regensburg High Court was set to hear the appeal on November 29, 2010, but the appeal has been postponed because of the change in attorneys. A new date has not been set, but it is believed that it will be held in March 2011. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by Heilbronner Stimme.]
Dear Fathers:
Since Benedict-Ratzinger holds that "nothing is good or bad in itself," he has expressed support for the 2500 year old teachings of Protagoras, the father of sophistry and its offspring, relativism. From his "universal" statement, which admits of no exceptions, would it not follow that the Most Holy Trinity is not per se "good" in itself? Yet JPII, as well as Benedict-Ratzinger, have on other occasions, condemned relativism as one of the most significant problems for faith and morals today. What hypocrites these Newpopes are!
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
This fundamental illogic is quite typical of Neo-Modernists like the "Fr." Ratzinger of Vatican II, now Benedict-Ratzinger. Therefore, such people frequently utter contradictory dicta. But the real fault lies in Benedict-Ratzinger's followers, who accept his illogic instead of calling him on it and refusing to accept it. Pick an moral issue, and Benedict-Ratzinger has come down on both sides of it: abortion, sodomy, clergy sex crimes, condoms. What's next?
Another symptom of Neo-Modernism is "all talk and no action." The application of this principle can be seen in Benedict-Ratzinger's statements about how bad Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Scandal is, but he has taken essentially no steps to correct it, so it continues unabated. Benedict-Ratzinger has fired not a single guilty bishop in the five years of his papacy -- not even the Belgian Newbishop who admitted to raping his own nephew when a child for a period of years!
As of so many other things, Benedict-Ratzinger seems ignorant of Shakespeare's famous warning: "The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves." Ever eager is he to fob off the mortal millstone that he carries around his neck as the Chief Conspirator in Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust that he is trying to blame not his Newchurch of the New Order, not Newchurch clergy from the top to the bottom, but "society" and "the times."
Benedict-Ratzinger, under increasing condemnation for his personal involvement in Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust, in a year-end speech to his Newcardinals and Newbishops on December 20, 2010, blamed a secular society for his own clergy's child rapes and their cover-up. "The psychological destruction of children, in which human persons are reduced to articles of merchandise, is a terrifying sign of the times," he said. In other words, he blames Newchurch rape and sodomy on "society" and "the times." Can you imagine what would happen to any other Chief Executive Officer of an organization who tried to fob off his personal responsibility for serious crime on "society" or the "the times"? He'd have been fired -- long ago!
Benedict-Ratzinger, a full-throated advocate of condemned Modernism and its satellite, Vatican II, adduced as an excuse for his criminal cover-ups the post-Vatican II heretical teaching about sin: "there is no such thing as evil in itself or good in itself. There is only a 'better than' and a 'worse than.' Nothing is good or bad in itself."
The child-victims aren't buying Benedict-Ratzinger's self-serving Modernistic moral sophistry. "It is fundamentally disturbing to watch a brilliant man so conveniently misdiagnose a horrific scandal," said the President of the largest Newchurch victims-rights groups, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Pr[esbyters]. Barbara Blaine said that the scandal wasn't caused by the 1970s but rather by Newchurch's culture of secrecy and fixation with self-preservation, in which predator presbyters and the bishops who moved them around rather than turn them in to the authorities were rarely disciplined.
The victims-rights leader criticized Benedict-Ratzinger was justly criticized as "all talk and no action." "Whenever the pope tires of talking about abuse and starts acting on abuse, he should focus on taking immediate, practical steps to oust those who commit, ignore and conceal clergy sex crimes first." Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust, which first exploded in the United States in 2002, erupted on a global scale in 2010 with revelations of thousands of victims in Europe and beyond, of Newchurch bishops who covered up for paedophile presbyters (and themselves) and of Newvatican officials who continue to turn a blind eye to the crimes. Newvatican still has a long way to go in terms of requiring its bishops to report sex crimes to police and release information and documentation about known pedophiles. All it has done so far is essentially damage control and window-dressing. And the child-victims are no longer deceived about the Paedophile Newpope. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
A Rome judge has upheld the seizure of 30,000,000 U.S. dollars in September 2010 from Benedict-Ratzinger's Vatican Bank on money-laundering charges. The funds were frozen by Italian authorities in connection with a money-laundering investigation. The Vatican Bank deceptively operates under the title "Institute for Religious Works," whereas Rome authorities claim that it serves as a front from the Mafia.
Benedict-Ratzinger had claimed that the laundered money was a "clerical error" and had asked the Rome court to lift the freeze on the funds. The judge refused Newpope's motion because Rome banking authorities have charged that the Vatican Bank has conducted transactions for shadowy Italian figures (the Mafia) who are seeking to avoid disclosure of their financial affairs. Rome prosecutors have charged that Newpope's Vatican Bank deliberately flouted laws cracking down on money-laundering and that Newchurch clergy had acted as front-men for corrupt businessmen and mobsters (the Mafia). [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Truly in Benedict-Ratzinger's Newchurch, black is white, and white is black. A group of pro-life and pro-family British Newchurchers protested outside the Novus Ordo temple where Bernard Longley, the Newchurch archbishop of Birmingham, England, had approved since 2007 an ongoing "Gay" Mess. The immoral Longley, who poses as a "conservative," condemned the pro-family group as being "judgmental" and "prejudiced" about his "officially approved" Mess.
The Messes, staged at Our Lady of the Assumption in Soho, are openly supportive of sodomy, and its attendees publish materials in opposition to Catholic teaching -- and that of Natural Law -- that designates sodomy as one of the Four Sins that Cry out to Heaven for Vengeance. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by LSN.]
Good Catholics, these Newchurch bishops don't like their false moral doctrines to be challenged. Longley wanted to substitute his own unCatholic immorality in place of true Catholic doctrine. After all, he's a Newbishop, so he is an expert about making up false moral doctrine as he goes along and trying to impose it on his Newchurchers. We should not be surprised at this turn of events in Newchurch, as the Novus Ordo bishops are either sodomists themselves or support sodomy among their clergy. The evidence is now indisputable: the Pink Mafia in Newchurch supports each other, from the very top on down. That's why nothing is changing: Newchurch clergy continue to rape children with a "Get out of Jail Free" card provided by Benedict-Ratzinger!
Christian Astronomer Martin Gaskell is suing the University of Kentucky for denying him the job of Director of the Student Observatory because his was skeptical about some aspects of the mainline view of the Theory of Evolution. (This incident is similar to SSPX Superior General persecuting his senior bishop Richard Williamson because Williamson disputes some aspects of the mainline view of the Holocaust Theory.) Gaskell was uniquely qualified for the new position at the University of Kentucky, according to court records, because he oversaw the design and construction of an observatory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Gaskell told the Associated Press that he felt "one should not allow universities to get away with religious discrimination."
Gaskell's colleagues particularly chafed at his delivery of a lecture, which he was invited to give in the U.K., entitled Modern Astronomy, the Bible, and Creation in 1997. The wide-ranging lecture outlines historical scientific figures who discuss God and interpretations of the creation story in Genesis. Gaskell mentioned the Theory of Evolution, saying the theory has "significant scientific problems." Isn't that the job of scientists: rigorously to question problems in any scientific theory?
In fact, Gaskell denies that he is a "creationist" and states that his views on evolution are in line with other biological scientists. In his lecture notes, Gaskell also distances himself from Christians who believe that the earth is a few thousand years old, saying that their assertions are based on "mostly very poor science." Gaskell's lawsuit is indicative of an increasingly-tense debate between religion and science on college campuses and elsewhere. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Contrary to the "literal" interpretation to which many Protestants adhere, the Catholic position has historically been far more rational. The Leading Father and Doctor of the Church, St. Augustine, wrote two treatise on the question, entitled De Genesi ad Litteram Libri Duodecim [Twelve Books on the Literal Interpretation of Genesis] and De Genesi contra Manichaeos Libri Duo [Two Books on Genesis against the Manichees]. St. Augustine advanced interpretations of Genesis that are plainly at variance with such a Protestant "literal" views.
St. Augustine's interpretations should help us guard against facile claims about the "literal" meaning of Biblical texts. We should recognize what Augustine recognized: namely, that the early chapters of Genesis are in fact complex and do not tender easy, pat answers. For example, St. Augustine repeatedly stresses that the six days described in Genesis are not six successive ordinary days. They have nothing to do with time.
In modern times, Pope Pius XII's Encyclical Letter Humani Generis exhibits a very prudent approach to the question of the Theory of Evolution, as well as all scientific theories: both religion and science are founded in truth; therefore, true religion and true science can never be in contradiction. The salient point is that the Theory of Evolution is just that, a theory. There may be aspects of it that are correct, and other aspects that are not. Even scientists do not agree on all points of the theory, and, like all scientific theories, more and more flaws in it will be discovered as further data are discovered.
Science can be looked at more as a process rather than a set of facts. For example, the Ptolemaic system was replaced by the Newtonian, the Newtonian by the Einsteinian. The 19th-century "Theory of Evolution" has already been found wanting by the scientific community and is constantly being revised as biological understanding increases. In history, we find that some in religion try to impose rigorously non-dogmatic aspects of the Faith into science, as in the great debate on heliocentrism in the 17th century. Conversely, some scientists try to make their "theories" contradict religious dogma. Both approaches are incorrect, as Pope Pius XII points out.

Are there any depths of immorality to which the Paedophile Newpope, Benedict-Ratzinger, will not stoop? The U.K. Guardian reported on December 17, 2010, that Newpope, who has also been exposed in secret documents recently published by Wikileaks, had tried to suppress the publication of Chapter 19 of the Irish Government's November 2009 Murphy report, which shocked the world by concluding that there had been a widespread cover-up of paedophilia in the Dublin archdiocese that reached to the highest levels of Newchurch.
The censored chapter has now been published by Ireland's High Court, in which evidence is presented that Benedict-Ratzinger stopped Irish Newchurch leaders from defrocking a serial paedophile presbyter-rapist. Presbyter Tony Walsh, who was imprisoned during the week of December 6, 2010, for raping boys over a period of sixteen years, is named in the censored chapter as one of the worst child abusers in the Dublin archdiocese. In 1983, when Ratzinger was the Prefect of the Congregation for the Faith, the No. 3 post in Newvatican, he overruled his own Congregation's verdict to defrock the criminal. He took this action in spite of the fact that the Archbishop-Primate of Ireland begged of Newrome that Walsh be dismissed.
Thanks to Ratzinger's personal reprieve of the serial paedophile presbyter, Walsh was permitted to continue as a presbyter, even though a report to the Dublin archdiocese five years after the reprieve still described him as "a very disturbed man who is always going to be dangerous" and "could not be let near schools, children, confession, etc." The housekeeper at the Newparish rectory reported that she had found drug syringes and condoms (ironically approved in 2010 for use by Benedict-Ratzinger) in Walsh's room. A monsignor in charge at the time was outraged at a suggestion that Walsh be reported to the gardai (the Irish police). Walsh was finally dismissed only a full 13 years after Ratzinger's 1983 reprieve of the serial paedophile, when Irish police opened a criminal investigation into a charge that he had attacked yet another boy in a public lavatory after a family funeral.
Ratzinger, now Newpope Benedict-Ratzinger, reportedly moved heaven and earth get Chapter 19 of the Murphy Report censored. That chapter, now revealed, concludes that there has been a widespread cover-up of paedophilia in the Dublin archdiocese. It says that presbyter Walsh raped numerous children with the full knowledge of other presbyters, canons, monsignori, bishops and even the Archbishop-Primate of Dublin, Desmond Connell.
Most Holy Family Monastery, of Fillmore, already embroiled in a 1,606,789 dollar federal lawsuit for fraud, has figured in a recent fracas at the Department of Motor Vehicles in San Francisco, California, where an employee sent a letter to a "transgendered" woman warning of eternal damnation after s/he sought to record his/her sex change on his/her driver's license. On December 15, 2010, the employee, who had been placed on administrative leave since October 2010, submitted a letter of resignation.
The "transgendered" woman, actually a man who had himself immorally mutilated to become a woman, went to the DMV office to change the name and gender on his/her driver's license. The employee, who processed the application, sent a letter to his/her home four days later advising him/her that "the homosexual act is an abomination that leads to Hell." The letter also referred him/her to the web site of what was described by the DMV spokesman as a "fundamentalist church," Most Holy Family Monastery. That same day, the DMV spokesman stated, a parcel arrived from the monastery with a DVD that warned of death and damnation for those "possessed by demons" of homosexuality.
The employee had refused to process an application from another "transgendered" woman in August 2009 and had told him/her God would send him/her to Hell. At his December 15, 2010, General Audience, Benedict-Ratzinger featured four acrobats nude from the waist up. (One could well ask why acrobats form a regular part of Benedict-Ratzinger's "papal audiences," shirtless or not, but particularly in the penitential season of Advent.) Newpope oogled the men, clapped wildly, and personally greeted them at the end of the performance. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Given the sad state of the Novus Ordo sect under its Newpopes since Vatican II, the saddest state being during the last five years of the current Newpope, this papal peep-show can hardly surprise anyone. Yet we have received more messages on this issue that anything else in quite a while. We must admit to being somewhat bemused at the concern about this comparatively benign instance rather than about the far more damnable activities going on in Newchurch.
After all, these acrobatic display have become part of Benedict-Ratzinger's "traditional" papal audiences for some time now. We have covered several instances in these Daily Commentaries. Yet, curiously, we get far fewer messages of outrage about:
Good Catholics, what is more important -- the invalidity of the Novus Ordo Mass and Sacraments, the corruption of Catholic doctrine and morality -- or a few shirtless acrobats? Truly, even "traditional" Catholics seem to have lost their sense of what is important. We must watch ourselves, heeding the warning of St. Paul "lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway" (1 Corinthians 9:27/DRV).
Ah, don't you love the smell of false oecumenism in the morning? Benedict-Ratzinger has tried to cozy up to the Jews and even attends their services, but they simply spit in his face. It took JPII about twenty years as Newpope to figure this out, but he finally did, stopping most of his ineffective oecumenical outreaches. Benedict-Ratzinger hasn't learned the lesson yet.
On December 10, 2010, a board of rabbis in Jerusalem, including over three dozen of Israel's leading clerics, ruled that Jews could not rent or sell property to Christians. Although some liberalist rabbis have objected to this ban on rentals and sales, the ban stands. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
It is not widely known among Christians that the Jewish Talmud, a collection of Rabbinical sayings, condemns all Gentiles, and Christians in particular, with obscene curses against Christ and the Blessed Virgin. For example: "The souls of Jews have the privilege of being part of God himself. The souls of the other peoples of the earth come from the devil and are similar to those of animals." And "the best of the Gentiles should be killed." The Talmud also advises Jews to curse Gentile buildings and cemeteries, to steal from Gentiles, to engage in usury against Gentiles, to medical treatment of Gentiles, unless a profit is to be made. Other Talmudic passages exonerate lying to Gentiles.
Actually, the Rabbinical Talmud is quite similar to the Mohammedan Koran in condemning those not of their sect. Christ and the Apostles, who were Jews after all, embraced Gentiles and embraced them in the New Testament. One thinks of the episode in which Christ tells the Roman centurion that his faith is better than that of the Jews, and St. Peter's baptizing the Gentile Cornelius and his whole family at the command of Christ, repeated three times.
Once hailed as a "conservative" Novus Ordo organization, bought into by clueless Newchurch Neocons, the Legionaries of Christ has now been thoroughly discredited and its presbyter-founder, personally blessed by JPII "the Ungreat," exposed as a rampant bisexual paedophile and adult rapist. You've got to hand it to those Newchurch "conservatives," who are bound and determined to support the corrupt Novus Ordo establishment and its clergy right on up to Newpope, rather than adhere to real (traditional) Catholicism -- even if it means associating with presbyter paedophiles and their Newpope accomplices.
Marcial Maciel, the founder of the Legionaries of Christ, was a favorite of JPII, who gave him every sign of papal approval. Such is the blindness (or collusion) of Newchurch's popes, who aid and abet child rapists throughout the world. Now that he is exposed as a criminal of the worst sort, Maciel's images are being torn down around the world like an unseated Roman emperor, whose memory is officially damned. The Legionaries are particularly concerned about tearing down the picture of criminal Maciel being blessed by JPII, whom some crazed Newchurchers want to con-anize into one of those Novus Ordo "saints." This scandal certainly puts JPII in a bad light, just at the time they want to call him "holy"!
Maciel, who, from Newchurch's perspective, conveniently died in 2008, found to have molested seminarians for decades and fathered three bastard children, at least one of whom he raped on numerous occasions. Maciel made no distinctions: for decades he raped men and women, boys and girls. The top echelons of the Legionaries knew about his predations and did nothing. Good Catholics, if Benedict-Ratzinger had any guts, he'd immediately abolish the organization, just as his predecessor, Pope Clement XIV, abolished the Jesuits throughout all of Christendom with his Bull of Abolition of July 21, 1773, when they spurned the Catholic religion to play secular politics.
Convicted paedophile presbyter Oliver O'Grady was arrested on December 10, 2010, in Ireland, on charges of possessing thousands of pictures of child pornography involving children as young as age 2. O'Grady had previously served seven years (1993-2000) in state prison in Ione, California, after pleading guilty to four counts of sexual abuse of children under 14. After his release on parole in 2000, he was deported to his native Ireland.
An Academy Award-nominated documentary about O'Grady's life, called "Deliver Us From Evil," was released in 2006. Since being deported to Ireland, O'Grady moved to Holland, where Newchurch officials welcomed him as a volunteer youth minister. O'Grady had applied for Dutch citizenship, but he returned to Ireland after someone saw him in "Deliver Us From Evil" in Holland and reported him to police.
In June 2009 the Newdiocese of Stockton, California, paid 2,000,000 dollars to a brother and sister who had been raped by O'Grady while they attended O'Grady's parochial school. That Newdiocese has now paid out almost 21,000,000 million to O'Grady's victims. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Dublin Times.]
Given the amount of "horse manure" coming out of Newvatican these days -- the Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust, the Condom Fiasco, the Vatican Bank/Mafia Money-laundering Scandal --, it is not surprising that Benedict-Ratzinger has decided to power part of his summer palace at Castel Gandolfo with horse flatulence, by harnessing methane from the flatus of his horses. Newvatican has bought completely into the "global warming" scam. Somehow it all seems to fit. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the U.K. Catholic Telegraph.]
While Benedict-Ratzinger's papacy sinks into disrepute from the Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust, now his Vatican Bank is being charged with money-laundering and using Newchurch clergy to front for the Mafia. Italian prosecutors filed against the Vatican Bank new money-laundering charges since the government seized 30,000,000 U.S. dollars for the same offence on September 21, 2010. The two new charges involve the Vatican Bank's failure to report the source and destination of two large transactions, as required by Italian law.
Although Benedict-Ratzinger's administration tried to write the charges off as a "misunderstanding," fresh court documents show that prosecutors are now charging the Vatican Bank with deliberately flouting anti-laundering laws "with the aim of hiding the ownership, destination, and origin of the capital". The court documents also reveal investigators' evidence that clergy may have acted as fronts for corrupt businessmen and Mafia. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Amidst the screams of Novus Ordo parishioners and the befuddlement of its handler, the star of a Novus Ordo "Camel" Mess, that is, the camel itself, fell into the pews, knocking them asunder and injuring several Newchurchers. The camel apparently panicked when he heard how bad the music was at the Novus Ordo service. The Newchurchers may have no taste, but the camel, at least, had a violent reaction to the invalid, unCatholic service!
The "Camel" Mess was the latest in a series of mishaps in the Novus Ordo service, which seems to be so eager to provide panem et circenses to the Newchurch crowd that it has become actually dangerous. There have been other cases of babies being killed by Novus Ordo baptism, since Newchurch insists upon the "dunkin' donut" (immersion) method instead of the safer, usual method of pouring water over the head of the infant.
Benedict-Rattzinger's Newchurch of the New Order is again demonstrated to be out of control -- and positively dangerous -- not only to the souls of its followers but also to their souls.
This latest episode in Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holcaust demonstrates that crime is rampant in Newchurch not just among the male popes, bishops, and presbyters, but also among the female religious. A Novus Ordo nun, Sister Marie Thornton, was charged on December 9, 2010, with embezzling 850,000 dollars from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, and then blowing the entire wad on gambling in Atlantic City, New Jersey, a well-known gambling center in the United States.
Sister Thornton was the chief financial officer at the college and earned a six-figure salary. Apparently, Newchurch nuns no longer take a vow of poverty! Somehow she arranged to escape audit and put her college's money on the "line," as it were, on the betting tables. The federal indictment charges that the nun turned in fake bills and used her college credit card to steal money.
Sister Marie was apparently not a very good gambler. She bet all her -- that is, her college's -- money on black and lost her shirt (Newchurch nuns don't wear habits). She did not repay the money to the college; an insurance company had to. This incident was another case of cover-up on the part of Newchurch authorities. Iona College lied when it announced that the nun left "for medical reasons." The college didn't even notify the police. Iona then tried to "double dip" by declaring a loss on its federal income tax return.
Sister Marie is cloistered at the Sisters for St. Joseph Order, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Part of the order's mission statement is "to raise consciousness about all forms of perversity" -- sorry, make that "poverty." The Novus Ordo nun faces ten years in prison if convicted, but the clueless Novus Ordinarians are trying to get her off scot free. What does this remind you of? Wikileaks has published the Secret Section of the February 26, 2010, United States State Department Cable entitled "Sex Abuse Scandal Strains Irish-Vatican Relations, Shakes up Irish Church, and Poses Challenges for the Hoy See." The secret cable begins:
The November 2009 [Murphy Commission] report of cover-up by local bishops of revelations of physical and sexual abuse of children by Irish clergy appalled Catholics and others worldwide.... The events that followed ... also cast a chill on Irish-Vatican relations.
The secret cable, originating from the U.S. Embassy in Dublin, Ireland, pointed out that Newvatican believed the Irish government failed to respect and protect Vatican sovereignty during the investigations and concluded:
Much of the Irish public views the Vatican protests as pettily procedural and failing to confront the real issue of horrific abuse and cover-up by Church officials.
The secret cable relates that Benedict-Ratzinger was angered by the Irish government's investigation into the sex crimes of Newchurch clergy, including Newbishops, in Ireland. He considered the investigation "an affront to Vatican sovereignty" rather than an important step to ferret out the criminals among his clergy, including Newbishops, who had been raping children without mercy, including numbers of handicapped children under Newchurch's care.
What is even worse, however, is the secret cables revealed that Benedict-Ratzinger put the squeeze on the Irish government to grant his rapist bishops and presbyters "immunity." Certainly the child-victims wish that Benedict-Ratzinger had granted them immunity from his criminal clergy. But then it came to light that Benedict-Ratzinger himself was personally involved in the child-rape cases, when he signed warrants excusing criminal Newchurch clergymen from penalties and allowing them to continue their predations against children. Once again Benedict-Ratzinger and his Newchurch of the New Order are proven sick unto death.
Dear Fathers:
Could you please explain: what is the difference between traditional Extreme Unction and the Novus Ordo "Anointing of the Sick"?
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
The first is the valid traditional Sacrament. The second is a Novus Ordo "blessing," not a sacrament. In the Novus Ordo, the Last Rites have essentially been eliminated. Novus Ordo soul is sent to the Judgment deprived of the rich graces and power of the Sacrament of Extreme Unction. Many souls that could have been spared some or all of the fires of Purgatory by the graces of the traditional Sacrament and the Apostolic Blessing with Plenary Indulgence at the Point of Death.
This loss of the Sacrament of Extreme Unction is just another disastrous consequence of the Newchurch of the New Order to those souls who patronize it.
Dear Fathers:
Thank you for the information about SSPX Superior General Bernie Fellay and his financial activities for secular corporations. It explains so much. As you noted, he has never done the normal work of a priest. As SSPX Bursar, he held the same position as Judas, the money man, who was a "thief" (John 12:6/DRV). The sad thing is that within the SSPX Fellay's financial activities are being totally ignored.
Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust has now spread to The Netherlands, which an investigative commission has reported on December 9, 2010, has received almost 2,000 complaints of sexual or physical abuse from Newchurch bishops and presbyters, in a country with only 4,000,000 Newchurchers. "The Roman Catholic Church [sic] has not faced a crisis like this since the French Revolution, said a professor of the history of religion in the Netherlands.
Newcardinal Adrianus Simonis, of Utrecht, added further scandal when he responded in a March 2010 television interview about the hundreds of complaints already surfacing with the exact German words used by Nazi leaders to protest their innocence: "Wir haben es nicht gewusst" -- We knew nothing about it. People perceived this statement as an affirmation of Newchurch's criminal culture of covering up cases of its clergy's sex attacks against children.
Simonis has been summoned to testify as a witness in a court hearing already under way involving his clergy's sexual assaults against children. The commission reported that, as in other countries, Newchurch authorities simply transferred known paedophiles to new parishes, where they could continue their predations. An attorney for 120 of the child victims assaulted by just one presbyter said: "We say the Catholic Church [sic] didn't take the measures to protect children from this man. They gave him another chance, and another, and another." [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the New York Times.]Dear Fathers:
When I was in grade school, the nuns told us that we were not permitted to put any money into the Salvation Army's red kettles at Christmastime because it is a non-Catholic religion. Now, I see students, and even teachers, from Newchurch schools ringing Salvation Army bells and collecting money for the organization. Is it moral for a Catholic to put money into the Salvation Army's red kettles as Christmastime?
The Fathers Reply.
If one can be reasonably sure that the money will go to some general charitable cause, small donations could be justified. If significant sums are involved or if the money is going to Salvation Army religious works, the donation would not be justified.
Frankly, we are more concerned with Newchurchers putting money into their own Newchurch collection-plates to be used, in substantial part, for their clergy's sex crimes against children, criminal cover-ups, and phony Messes and sacraments. That is far more sinful than an innocent dollar or two put into a Salvation Army pot to buy toys for children.
Dear Fathers:
I understand that there was a Dan Rather Report about Catholicism aired on December 7, 2010. I would be interested in the TRADITIO Fathers' take on the program. Mr. Rather states that his program "will challenge viewers in a way no one else on television will. It's an examination of two Catholic communities on the margins of the Church."
I have not seen the program. From the description it appears to be another example of how to vilify "traditional" Catholics by taking an ostensibly "traditional" Catholic organization (SSPX) and telling only half the story. Secular audiences won't understand, but TRADITIO readers know the truth.
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
We didn't see the program either, but did read the pre-release teaser. None of these liberalist "journalists" like Dan Rather know anything about the Church, or religion in general, for that matter. They might as well try to do a story on advanced nuclear science, for all they know! Then, too, Rather is a proven liar. In the Bush Fax scandal he phonied up a fax against Bush and "reported" on it. He was essentially dismissed as anchorman at CBS, but continues to produce more of his phony reports independently.
The liberalist press views the Church (even Newchurch) as out of step, needing to go liberalist, but being held back (in their liberalist opinion) by "ultra-conservatives" like the SSPX (who we know are really not that). Liberalist journalists like Rather look at the Church through the only binoculars they have, which is politics. They don't know religion. Therefore, these liberalist journalist pattern Church issues after political issues: liberal vs. conservative. That gives a very distorted picture and religion and politics are different animals -- or should be.
But in true religion there is definiteness. In the moral sphere, for example, coming from Natural Law and classical moral principles, there is right and wrong. "Gay marriage," for example, is wrong, and no "vote of the people" can change its wrongness. Protestants nowadays seem to think that a vote of their ministers can trump the Bible. They are deluded. The Novus Ordo Church is halfway toward this Protestant error.
Add to that the incompetence of the current Newpope, Benedict-Ratzinger, a purveyor of Vatican II Modernism, not the "traditionalist" that the liberalist press tries to make him. This man was supposed to be a teacher, a professor in fact, yet he has issued the most confusing statements about moral principles. He views homosexual acts as a "disorientation," not a grave sin. His position on abortion is weak. Lately, he has caused quite a scandal by seeming to approve of sodomy, as long as the sinner is "charitable" and uses a prophylactic while he commits One of the Four Sins that Cry out to Heaven for Vengeance!
Traditional Catholics stand by the tried and true for solid, timeless information. Not the ignorant and mendacious minds of liberalist "journalists" such as Dan Rather, but St. Paul, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, and great thinkers of their sublime caliber.
Many traditional Catholics will not have the opportunity to assist at a Traditional Latin Midnight High Mass in the fully-traditional rite, and only a few will have the opportunity to assist at the Hour of Matins of the traditional Divine Office, which precedes the Midnight High Mass. From the earliest centuries, the Matins of Christmas have ushered in the Midnight High Mass at churches and cathedrals, most notably at Bethlehem in St. Catherine's Basilica, built over the site of the manager where the Holy Infant was born as our Redeemer on that night almost 2000 years ago.
Therefore, we recommend that those traditional Catholics who will be deprived of the opportunity to assist personally at these traditional services obtain the Christmas Matins and Christmas Mass CDs put out by the St. John Schola for Gregorian Chant as Volumes I and II in its "A Traditional Chapel Sings Gregorian Chant" CD Series. Although there are many recordings made in recording studios, or sometimes in larger churches or monasteries with professional or dedicated choirs, there are few, if any, recordings made by the average small lay choir, chanting what can actually be attempted in the smaller churches, chapels, and oratories, to which the Sacred Chant can be a great addition in the traditional Roman liturgy, not as mere secular performance, but in the actual religious setting for which it was composed, the Traditional Latin Mass and Divine Office.
This series consists of live recordings of the type of chant pieces that may be used at traditional churches and chapels. It makes no pretense to being professional, but to what is achievable, with a little work, by the average small lay choir. The St. John Schola's hope is that this series will serve as a practical guide for the wider use of Gregorian chant in the traditional Roman Catholic liturgy.

To follow up on our previous report, the TRADITIO Network has been informed that the SSPX's Superior General, Bernie Fellay, now services on the Boards of no fewer than eight companies:
Fellay has never been a parish priest. He was appointed SSPX Bursar General directly after his ordination in 1982 and continued in that position until his election as Superior General in 1994. This could well explain why Fellay deals better with bean-counting than with his SSPXers. His view of his role as Superior is to threaten and demean his clergy and laity if they question anything he does. For proof, just look at how impiously he is treating his senior bishop, Richard Williamson.
Dear Fathers:
I write to inform your readers of some very sad news. Mel Gibson has shut down indefinitely the Holy Family Church in Agoura Hills, California, which he built and financially supports from his own funds. On December 12, 2010, some paparazzo posed as a traditional Catholic, stole into the church, took pictures of Gibson and his one-year-old daughter Lucia, and sold them to a tabloid web site.
Lucia was born on October 30, 2009, by Oksana Grigorieva out of wedlock. Gibson shortly thereafter repented of his dalliance with Grigorieva and put her away in April 2010, but he still retains custody of his daughter, whom he takes to Mass at Holy Family Church. To protect the privacy of his family and the child, as well as that of the traditional Catholic congregation, Gibson closed the church indefinitely.
This despicable paparazzo has resulted in denying to the members of the congregation the Traditional Latin Mass and Sacraments during this most holy season of the year. I will keep the TRADITIO Network's readers informed of any further developments.
Benedict-Ratzinger, as an advocate of Vatican II, wanted to be "oecumenical," so since 2007 he has pandered to the Patriotic National Church, the New Order sect run by the Communist Chinese government (as opposed to the underground New Order sect associated with Newchurch). Benedict-Ratzinger even approved the Novus Ordo installation (Newchurch no longer "consecrates" bishops) of a schismatic Communist bishop or two.
Now China’s Communist regime is sticking its middle finger at the "oecumenical" Benedict-Ratzinger by forcing dozens of Newchurch bishops to attend a meeting in Beijing to elect a new president of the state-controlled Patriotic National Church. Some of the Newchurch bishops have gone into hiding in order to avoid attending the meeting; others are attending. The most serious and obvious violence occurred in Hengshui (Hebei), where Newchurch bishop Feng Xinmao was seized by about 100 police officers and government representatives, who dragged him to Beijing to attend the meeting. The Communist Chinese have also threatened to engage in a nationwide manhunt for Newbishop Joseph Li Liangui, of Cangzhou, who has gone into hiding to avoid attending the meeting.
So much for Benedict-Ratzinger's sycophancy and the blessings of Vatican II's false "oecumenism." [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by Asia News.]
One of Newchurch's most celebrated presbyters, a Latino known as "Fr. Oprah" because he starred in his own cable-television show and wrote an advice column, had been exposed as a fornicator and a violator of his sacred oath when he was photographed rolling around on a Miami, Florida, beach with a woman whom he later called his "girlfriend."
Presbyter Alberto Cutie, who pandered the Newchurch of the New Order in his television problem, had no problem flipping over to become an Episcopalian minister almost overnight. The Episcopalians, as Anglicans are called in the United States, are known for their "gay" bishops and bishopesses and are the Protestant model for the Newchurch of the New Order. Now the consummation of the act is complete: Cutie has an Episcopalian baby as of November 30, 2010. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Dear Fathers:
I draw your readers' attention to my latest exclusive piece for the TRADITIO Network, in which I treat of Benedict-Ratzinger's latest outrage over prophylactics and Newvatican's attempts to "clarify" what it all meant, to shift attention away from an earlier and more egregious act that took place in Spain, when the "Holy Father" distributed the Novus Ordo communion "cookie" in the hand to the Spanish Queen, Sophia. While the Motarians and pseudo-traditionalists attempted to defend Benedict-Ratzinger's view on the use of condoms, not much could be said to dispute the "cookie-in-the hand" incidence since Benedict-Ratzinger was photographed in the act.
For further information, click on On Phony Popes, Clueless Queens, and Cookies in the Hand in the TRADITIO Network's Special Features department (Articles, Reviews, Sermon Series, Other).
The TRADITIO Fathers have been notified that an important work of Dr. Rama Coomaraswamy has been published posthumously, four years after his death in 2006. Before Vatican II Dr. Coomaraswamy collaborated closely with Mother Teresa and her charitable works in India. However, after Vatican II his position differed from Mother Teresa's more liberal view. Dr. Coomaraswamy was closely associated with Fr. Malachi Martin, who wrote a number of books exposing the deception of the Newchurch of the New Order that arose after Vatican II. Before entering religion in 1999, Dr. Coomaraswamy graduated from Harvard University and then went on to Medical School. He spent 30 years as a thoracic and cardiovascular Surgeon. Following his retirement from surgery, he retrained in psychiatry, serving as assistant professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and practicing at the New York Medical Center.
In 1990 Dr. Coomaraswamy had written a treatise on the defects in the Novus Ordo. Entitled The Problems with the New Mass: A Brief Overview of the Major Theological Difficulties Inherent in the Novus Ordo, this book remains one of the best treatments demonstrating the invalidity of the Novus Ordo Proestant-Masonic-Pagan service of 1969. In his treatise Dr. Coomaraswamy concisely explains why the "New Mass" of 1969 is actually an invalid Protestantized worship service intended by the Newchurch of the New Order to replace the Traditional Latin Mass considered by Popes and Councils for two thousand years to be essentially unchangeable. Dr. Coomaraswamy clearly explains what has been deleted and how the "New Mass" has been Protestantized and invalidated.
At the time of his death in 2006, Dr. Coomaraswamy had been working on a sequel, entitled The Problems with the Other Sacraments, Apart from the New Mass, to expose the invalidity of the sacraments of the Newchurch of the New Order. It is this work that has now been published posthumously. In it he exposes the planned self-destruction of the Church, as designed and executed by the New Order clergy, and their subtle plan to destroy the Catholic Church as traditionally understood by destroying the traditional Sacraments. Dr. Coomaraswamy documents the specific changes made to the traditional Sacraments other than the Mass by Newchurch that Protestantized and invalidated them.
Just before his death, Dr. Coomaraswamy had published an updated and revised edition of his Destruction of the Christian Tradition. The first half of this book consists of a thorough treatment of all the issues concerning the Newchurch of the New Order, including magisterium, Scripture, Tradition, innovation, heretical popes, and obedience. The second half treats the period of Vatican II and its popes, their doctrine, their liturgical revolution, the Novus Ordo service, their destruction of Holy Orders, and Modernism. An addendum on Benedict-Ratzinger is added, and a definite conclusion is reached on what traditional Catholics should do in the current disastrous situation of the Church.
We realize that both Dr. Coomaraswamy and Fr. Martin have their frenetic advocates and detractors in other areas. What we are here treating is the content of the three specific works described. For further information, click on FAQ05: What Traditional Resources Do You Recommend? in the TRADITIO Network's Library of Files (FAQs and Traditional Apologetics).
When Benedict-Ratzinger issued his liberalist political screed, which he couched in the form of an encyclical letter entitled Caritas in veritate, of September 29, 2008, he exceeded any authority that he might have as pope and became just another secular politician. But he shot himself in the foot when he endorsed in his letter totalitarian "supranational" organizations, like the European Union.
Now Benedict-Ratzinger's approved "supranational" organization has given him its middle finger when it voted on December 1, 2010, to endorse a report that is intended to compel all 27 members states the requirement to recognize "gay marriage" and homosexual civil partnerships (which is just a code word for "gay marrige") on every member state in the Union. The consequence, according to the pro-family group European Dignity, "would be an uncontrollable 'marriage-tourism' to countries that recognize same-sex 'marriage'" like Belgium, Spain, Portugal, and Sweden, "or even polygamous 'marriages,'" as recognized in the Netherlands. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Christian Telegraph.]
Dear TRADITIO Fathers:
What are the differences between the "Motu" Mess (sometimes called by the novel name "Extraordinary") and the Traditional Latin Mass? I'm still trying to learn?
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
You have set us a virtually impossible task! To the Traditional Latin Mass, the Freemason presbyter Hannibal Bugnini's first wave of "modernizations" applied in 1956 took almost 200 pages of rubrical commentary to explain. His second wave of "modernizations" occurred in 1960 and took over 200 pages of rubrical commentary to explain. Finally, in 1962, Pope John XXIII became the first pope to lay hands upon the Sacred Canon of the Mass, which had not been touched since Pope St. Gregory the Great closed the Patristic period around the year 600.
By the "Mess of 1962" the Traditional Latin Mass had been set up, as intended by Bugnini and the Modernists, to be taken after Vatican II (1962-1965) to the ultimate unCatholic and invalid Novus Ordo of 1969.
On December 2,2010, the Seventh United States Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the conviction of a Newjesuit presbyter on charges he traveled abroad and across state lines to rape a child. The court rejected McGuire's specious argument that while in fact he did rape the child, the rape wasn't the purpose of the travel. Ah gee, he just wanted to sightsee. U.S. Appeals Court Justice Richard Posner conceded that statutes indicating that sex must be a primary reason for the travel cause confusion, but he ruled that it was enough to show that McGuire had planned trips specifically to improve his chances of having criminal sex with the child. And McGuire certainly did that!
McGuire is now serving a 25-year prison sentence. The 80-year-old has also been convicted in Wisconsin for raping a child. For his vile crimes, he will most likely die in jail. The Newjesuit commanded a worldwide following among Newchurchers as a "gifted preacher." Obviously, he didn't practice what he preached! [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Dear TRADITIO Fathers:
How widespread is extremism in the SSPX? Are all the Society's priest-presbyters extremists? How widespread is extremism in the SSPX laity?
The TRADITIO Fathers Reply.
At this point the extremism in the SSPX, by which we mean a frenetic push toward "approval" by the New Order establishment, is at about 50-50 by all accounts. This extremism has gradually gained force after the death of the SSPX's Archbishop-Founder Marcel Lefebvre in 1991 and the accession of Bernie Fellay as Superior General. This extremism has been particularly noticeable since 2000 and then after 2006, when Fellay was re-elected by a stacked Chapter, most of whose members he appointed and who must, therefore, be sycophants to him, or they will lose their positions of power.
As to the SSPX clergy, more of them are trying to hold to the traditional principles of Archbishop Lefebvre, but those who are outspoken about it have been expelled by Fellay from his Neo-SSPX. Fellay wants his Neo-SSPX singing out of his own Novus Ordo-leaning hymn book, not Archbishop Lefebvre's, who condemned outright both the New Order and Josef Ratzinger as "not Catholic."
Many of the SSPX laity are thoroughly confused at this point. They know that the Archbishop stood for rational traditional Catholicism and had much experience with it, as head of one of the Church's largest missionary congregations and as Pope Pius XII's Apostolic Delegate to French Africa. But they now see Fellay spurning the Archbishop's founding traditional principles and moving toward the New Order sect, which the Archbishop condemned as "not Catholic."
In such a case of chaos within an organization, you can expect some followers to salute their leader, just as many Newchurchers salute the Paedophile Pope, Benedict-Ratzinger, even though his personal complicity in child rape is now fully documented. Other followers would denounce the unCatholic principles of Fellay, but most are afraid to express that opinion publicly because Fellay will expel them from his Neo-SSPX, as he did three of his leading clergymen. Still other followers will stick their heads in the sand like ostriches, doing and saying nothing, not having the guts to stand up against Fellay's Novus Ordo-style autocracy.
In this context, it is interesting to notice what is happening to the SSPX's senior bishop, Richard Williamson. He is certainly the most popular bishop in the SSPX, both because of his gentlemanly demeanor, like the Archbishop's, and because of his closeness to the mind of the Archbishop. Fellay, on the contrary, comes off as a petty tyrant, who operates like a power-hungry political hack.
Fellay hates Williamson out of jealousy for his popularity, experience, and knowledge. He is currently engineering a way to expel him too as a result of the trumped-up charges the Williamson is facing in a German court for expressing a politically-incorrect opinion on a disputed matter of secular history.
Just as the TRADITIO Network warned from the day that the motu proprio Summorum pontificum was released on July 7, 2010, Msgr. Guido Pozzo, Secretary of the Ecclesia Dei subdepartment in the Newchurch Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, announced in German on Vatican Radio, December 1, 2010, that the so-called "Motu" Mess (sometimes called by the novel name "Extraordinary"), which is certainly not even the "Mass of 1962," will be modernized and updated to make it more like the Novus Ordo.
Among the changes announced by Pozzo, the Calendar of Saints will be changed, which Paul VI also did in 1968, striking out such well-known Saints as St. Christopher from the calendar. The calendrical changes ended up confusing Newchurchers so much that the veneration of the Saints in Newchurch has virtually dried up. The modernizations will also touch again the once Sacred Canon of the Mass, renamed Eucharistic Prayer in the Novus Ordo, which introduced some 100 new such prayers so that the single traditional Catholic and Apostolic prayer could no longer be called a "canon." Traditional Catholics objected to John XXIII's addition of St. Joseph's name to the Sacred Canon in 1962, the first time any pope had dared to change the Sacred Canon since it reached its final Catholic and Apostolic form in the second to fourth centuries.
Good Catholics, anyone who is wedded now to the Half Novus Ordo "Motu" or "Extraordinary" service had better be prepared to be brought gradually into the full-blown Novus Ordo. The "Motu" in just the last three years has already been tampered with several times and will be even more tampered with in the next few years. This is exactly how the Freemason presbyter Hannibal Bugnini and his Committee of Six Protestant Ministers gradually brought in the invalid Novus Ordo service of 1969 from the "modernized" services of 1965 and 1960-1962! The Motarians are ignorant of Catholic history and will become patsies to the Novus Ordo in a short period of time.
The Society of St. Pius X's senior bishop, Richard Williamson, who is appealing the verdict of a German court against him for expressing a politically-incorrect opinion on a disputed matter of secular history, has confirmed in a December 1, 2010, letter that the SSPX's Superior General Bernie Fellay had dispatched Ramon Angles, an SSPX hatchetman, to Williamson on November 26, 2010, to demand that he discharge his defense attorney or be expelled from the Society. Williamson approved the publication of his letter of response "to anyone else who may be confused."
Williamson indicates that Fellay wanted him to appoint an attorney who would not really defend him vigorously, one like Matthias Lossman, who originally lost the case for Williamson, apparently at the connivance of Fellay. Williamson has decided to ignore Fellay's attempts to interfere with his defense and will pursue his appeal with yet a third attorney.
A Delaware jury has awarded 30,000,000 U.S. dollars in compensatory damages to a man who was repeatedly raped by a Newchurch presbyter. The paedophile presbyter had already been convicted in 2008 of repeatedly raping his own grandnephew. The jury is still deliberating on punitive damages to add to that amount. The verdict is exceptional in that it is the largest single monetary award to the child-victim of Newchurch clergy rape. Moreover, the court held not only the Newchurch diocese liable for the crime, but also the parish itself, which will be responsible for payment of 3,000,000 dollars of the judgment. A parish nas never before been found liable for cooperating in the Newchurch clergy's sex crimes.
A leading attorney remarked that "stunning testimony is coming out, which exposes to the light of day the rampant sexual abuse of innocent children. The cover-up continues, and to this very day these churches refuse to accept responsibility for their actions." The executive director of the Survivors Network of those Abused by P[resbyters], said that the verdict was a milestone, because a jury found that culpability for sex crimes extended beyond the criminal presbyter and his accomplice bishop to the parishioners: "This jury's saying no, it doesn't matter if your title is bishop or pastor. If you knowingly put kids and keep kids in harm's way, there's a steep price to be paid."
Bishop Francis Malooly, Newbishop of Wilmington, Delaware, clearly understood the significance of the judgment, when he stated: "It is unfortunate that the parish community of St. Elizabeth's is being made to pay for the criminal and sinful acts of someone who was assigned by the diocesan bishop at the time to be one of their priests [sic]." Sure, Malooly, the parish, which had to deal with your guy, should be able to play deaf, dumb, and blind to his crimes. It is thinking like that that is killing off your New Order sect. Good riddance!
The Newchurch diocese involved is so corrupt that over 100 presbyters have been charged with sex crimes against children. There are currently only 114 presbyters in the Newdiocese, which went into bankruptcy in 2009. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
Dear Fathers:
If I may share one important observation I have made: many followers of the Traditional Latin Mass are neither warm nor welcoming. There seems to be an underlying arrogance and bitterness, a kind of "I'm right, and you're an idiot" attitude towards newcomers who clumsily inquire about something Novus Ordinarian masses know virtually nothing about. That so beautiful and so powerful a liturgy should leave so many of her followers so bitter and rude is curious. It is my observation that the worst offenders are the Novus Ordo-affiliated Fraternity of St. Peter and the Novus Ordo-leaning Society of St. Pius X, not the independents and members of traditional Catholic organizations.
The Fathers Reply.
The bitterness of traditional Catholics toward the New Order establishment is quite understandable, though we agree that there should be a welcoming attitude for newcomers. Remember that for forty years traditional Catholics have been blasted with Novus Ordo nonsense, supported by specious historical arguments that have been proven now to be lies: communion in the hand, vernacular tongues in sacred worship, Mass facing the congregation, to name just a few.
The New Order establishment has been nasty, to say the least, toward traditional Catholics, who have only been trying to practice their Faith. They have been viciously and mendaciously called heretics and schismastics. In 2007 Benedict-Ratzinger made the damning admission that traditional Catholics were right all along, but he has done nothing to make up for the injustices that his Novus Ordo sect committed against traditional Catholics, particularly those courageous traditional Catholic clergy who left the Novus Ordo establishment to continue celebrating for the faithful the Traditional Latin Mass and Sacraments.
Now we find out that every bishop of the New Order has been involved, in one way or another, in the most mortal sins and crimes of all, against children, not only covering up the crimes and aiding and abetting them, but even perpetrating those crimes themselves (over 10% of the U.S. bishops, for example have been charged with such crimes). Included among these bishops is the current pope, who since 1970, under his own personal signature, has been letting the most vile criminals in his clergy go scot free to rape more children. He has not fired a single criminal bishop, like the one in Belgium who admitted to raping his own young nephew for years.
Traditional Catholics did not bring this situation about. It was the "arrogance" of the New Order hierarchy in attempting to impose an invalid, unCatholic worship service on the Church that set this reaction in motion. And the New Order establishment is now paying the price for it. Attendance at the invalid Novus Ordo Protestant-Masonic-Pagan service is plummeting, down into single digits now, even in the United States, where upon the death of Pope Pius XII a Gallup poll showed it to be at 80 per cent.
When the United States National Portrait Gallery, run by the publicly-funded Smithsonian Institution, put on an exhibition of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transvestite , video or forget any future public funding. The National Gallery, which had pandered to perverts in staging the exhibition, immediately backed down. Barack Obama, who claims that he is a Christian, though many in the U.S. think that he is a closet Mohammedan, said and did nothing. The Democrats in the U.S. House, who hold power until January 2011, said and did nothing, even though the current House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, claims to be a "Catholic."
The exhibition, called Hide/Seek, contains a video of a statue of Jesus Christ with ants crawling on Him, as well as other "works of art" featuring sexually-perverted "Gay," Lesbian, Bisexual, and "Transgendered" themes. This blasphemous work was reminiscent of the Brooklyn Museum of Art's exhibition in 1999, in which the Blessed Virgin Mary was depicted splattered with elephant dung. The work, by David Wojnarowicz, titled "A Fire in My Belly," was a featured work of the National Gallery's Christmas-season Exhibit. It also included imagery of genitalia and homoerotic situations, in addition to the video of Christ being covered with ants.
Incoming House Speaker Boehner stated:
American families have a right to expect better from recipients of taxpayer funds in a tough economy. While the amount of money involved may be small, it's symbolic of the arrogance Washington routinely applies to thousands of spending decisions involving Americans' hard-earned money at a time when one in every 10 Americans is out of work, and our children's future is being threatened by debt. Smithsonian officials should either acknowledge the mistake and correct it, or be prepared to face tough scrutiny beginning in January when the new majority in the House moves to end the job-killing spending spree in Washington.
Incoming House Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor's criticism was more direct:
This is an outrageous use of tax payer money and an obvious attempt to offend Christians during the Christmas season.
Good Catholics, just imagine what would happen if the image instead were one of Mohammed being covered by ants. Muslim terrorists would bomb the National Gallery, and that would be the end of that! [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by CNS News.]
One of the most interesting revelations to traditional Catholics leaked by Wikileaks in recent days has been the memorandum of United States State Department Secretary Hillary Clinton calling Benedict-Ratzinger only "probably Catholic." The context of the memorandum is not immediately available. By this expression, did she mean that he might really be a plant to keep Newchurch on a Modernist/Liberalist track?
The other Wikileaks leak of interest is that Josef Ratzinger's election as Newpope in 2005 "came as a total surprise" to the U.S. intelligence services. According to a 2005 U.S. State Department document, U.S. diplomats said that they were expecting a candidate from a developing country to be elected instead. Wikileaks is expected to publish incriminating documents on Newvatican in the coming days.
It has been suggested that although Ratzinger did not seem likely to be elected by the Newchurch cardinals, the cardinals may have feared that unless he were elected Newpope, their own involvement in Newchurch's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust would become public. If that was their hope, they were dead wrong. They ended up with a Newpope who, on paper, seemed like an experienced ecclesiastical bureaucrat, but he has turned out to be a grossly-incompetent nincompoop, making many serious errors of judgment and, worse, becoming exposed as the Paedophile Pope, who allowed his clergy to rape children at will by the authority of documents signed by his own hand. When SSPX Superior General Bernie Fellay put the strong-arm on the SSPX's senior bishop Richard Williamson to drop his appeal in a German court against a fine of some 14,000 U.S. dollars for expressing a politically-incorrect opinion on a disputed matter of secular history, Williamson agreed on November 20, 2010, to drop his appeal and release his new attorney, Wolfram Nahrath, but asked that in return Fellay pay his fine for him. Fellay agreed to pay Williamson's fine, but reneged on his promise the following day and instead publically denounced Williamson.
In the face of Fellay's perfidy, Williamson told Fellay that he would release Nahrath as his attorney, but continue his appeal. Williamson is reported to have retained a new attorney on November 26, 2010, one who is politically neutral and with a good professional reputation. Williamson himself has not yet identified this attorney nor publicly confirmed his release of Nahrath. This information came from the leading German weekly, Der Spiegel, whose source was apparently its legal consultant, Maximilian Krah, a Dresden lawyer.
Here is where the Fallay plot thickens. Just who is this lawyer Krah? It turns out that he is an associate of Williamson's first lawyer, Matthias Lossman, who lost Williamson's case, perhaps deliberately. Lossman is a member of the German Green Party, which is pro-homosexual, pro-abortion, and pro-paedophilia (termed by the Liberalists "intergeneratioinal sex"). It is suspected that Lossmann connived in some way with the judge, whose lengthy decision must have been written in advance, as the decision came back in less time than it could be typed out!
Krah, a member of the Christian Democratic Union, which, contrary to its name, is also pro-homosexual and pro-abortion, it turns out, is Fellay's business partner and a public fundraiser for Jewish causes. On January 19, 2010, Krah was appointed as Director and Manager of the Board of the company Dello Sarto, Aktiengesellshaft (AG). The Chairman of the company is Fellay, and the Board Members are his First Assistant, Niklaus Pfluger, and his Treasurer, Emeric Baudot, both priest-presbyters of Fellay's Neo-SSPX. An AG is a corporation that is owned by shareholders and can be traded on the stock market.
The mission statement of the company is publicly listed as: "To provide advice on asset-management issues and on the care and management of assets of domestic and foreign individuals, corporations, foundations, and other bodies, in particular of natural or legal persons, according to the Catholic moral and religious teaching in its traditional sense of duty and care, and to execute projects for the aforementioned persons, as well as advising on the implementation of these projects." In other words, Fellay's shadow company, Dello Sarto AG, appears to be an investment company that speculates in financial and other markets.
Bernie Fellay's investment company was commercially registered on January 13, 2009, and issued 100 shares at 1,000 U.S. dollars, giving it an initial capital of 100,000 U.S. dollars. Only Fellay and Krah individually have the power to pay out funds. The fact that Fellay appears to be speculating SSPX funds in international financial markets will worry many of the SSPXers, who will rightly believe that such activity is both risky on the material plane, and questionable on the moral level.
Even defenders of Fellay within the SSPX have admitted that since partnering with Krah, Fellay's attitude towards his senior bishop Richard Williamson has changed dramatically. The change has been public and persistent, and has been both insulting and humiliating for Williamson, who is by far most popular bishop within the SSPX, a man known for his warm and gentlemanly demeanor and his close association with the SSPX's founder, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.
In an interview before U.S. Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2010, Timothy Dolan, Newchurch archbishop of New York, who is the new head of the U.S. Newchurch bishops, had this to say about Thanksgiving and Christ:
Thanksgiving is a time of the year when people are open to the Lord, and we don't think about ourselves. We're grateful to God. We're conscious that somebody -- some call him or her, whatever you want -- somebody beyond us is in charge, and we are immensely grateful.
This is how the new head bishop of the U.S. Conference of Catholic [sic] Bishops talks about his Principal, his Lord, Jesus Christ, the One he claims to represent. He can't even get the sex right (pun intended). Can you imagine a Mohammedan imam being interviewed and saying: "Mohammed, him or her, whatever you want?" He would be killed by the Islamic faithful on the spot!
This incident is reminiscent of the occasion at Newcatholic Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C., when Newcardinal-archbishop Theodore McCarrick imposed upon the students the blessing not of Christ, but of Allah! Good Catholics, Our Lord's response to Dolan's blasphemy, and that of Newchurch, which denies Christ's Catholic doctrine, morals, and liturgy was made 2000 years ago: "But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 10:33/DRV).
The Advent wreath is a simple evergreen wreath with three violet candles and one rose candle to represent the liturgical colors of the four Sundays of Advent, the rose candle representing the Third Sunday of Advent, called "Gaudete" Sunday from the first word of its Introit and being celebrated a little more joyously in a lighter shade of violet called rose (the Church never uses pink!).
The question of Advent Candles always stirs some controversy. Some see it as hailing from the Protestant tradition. They argue that the Advent wreath came from Germany during the time of Martin Luther. The practice of the wreath and lighting its candles was spread by the Protestant German Mennonites. On the other hand, some Catholic areas of Germany seem to have had the practice as well in the following way.
Each evening, prior to the evening meal, one of the four candles is lit, and the Advent antiphon and versicle are recited:
V. Rorate coeli desuper et nubes pluant Iustum
[Dew down, ye heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down the Just One.]
R. Aperiatur terra et germinet salvatorem.
[Let the earth be opened and bud forth a Savior.]
This is an excellent practice for all Catholics to practice during each of the days of Advent.
The practice may have been inspired by the Swedish Crown of Lights worn by young Swedish girls on St. Lucia's Day, December 13, with the evergreen symbolizing the blessing of eternal life. Also, in ancient Rome the people used to decorate wreaths as a sign of victory and celebrating, the strength of life overcoming the forces of winter.
